Stiles as Derek's kid's manny.

He earns $50 AN HOUR.

*calculates how much money I make an hour*

It's possible I would put up with 2 ki --- oh, wait, no, I wouldn't.

Never mind.

CUTE OVERLOAD.
(And if you know that obnoxious, disturbingly shrill song you'll understand why I cringe everytime these words cross my mind. But it is what it is.)

This is how you write a kiddie fic. The kids are fantastically cute, hyper, annoying, adorable, loving and lovable, and while if I had them near me I would probably smash their heads against each other to make them stfu (lovingly and tenderly knocking them out), I loved reading about them.
The light touch the author used to handle a transgender kid - Andy, one of Derek's twins - transformed what could have been an issue into another wonderful nuance of what Andy is.
Both Andy and Olly have distinct and characteristic personalities and they are - oh my gosh, I swear, I have no words to express the cuteness. I just can't. I wanted to squee and cry and laugh while reading about them. It kills me.

And then - because it can't all be sunshine and rainbows and candy - there's the ust and the angst. And - I never thought I'd say this - I realised I'd actually missed the whole fucked up, drawn out, idiotic and painful misunderstanding/miscommunication trope. There's a certain twisted pleasure in wanting to smash the MCs' heads against each other and at the same time wanting to tear your hair out because you're suffering right along with them.

So, basically, there's everything here. The cute and the angsty, the sweet and the sexy, the happy and the painful - and underneath it all there's an insanely tender and heart-squeezing thread narrating the birth of a family: the affection, the acceptance, the understanding, the sheer love.
Believe me, this is the last thing I normally want to read about. It's not that I don't believe family stories can be good; it's simply not my area of interest. Yet I loved this one with all of my heart.

This has no particular relevance to the review or to anything, really, but I can't not mention it: the scent marking had me a gooey mess on the floor. It's not even a sexual thing in this specific story, like I would've thought if I'd heard about it before reading the fic; it's simply a way to show affection and belonging and it kills me inside with how fantastically cute it is.

The one problem I had with this fic is the ending, which gives a whole new meaning to the expression WTF. It makes no sense, it's random, it's rushed and it's partially unresolved. And I'm extremely sorry about that, because otherwise this is an amazing story. If you're looking for fluff. And a few misunderstandings.
Still, all I've got in my heart and head right now is kittens and marshmallows and little pink hearts and rainbows and whatever else simbolises love and happiness, so I'm not going to complain.

Sweet, and cute, and one of the most realistic stories with children I've ever read. I love how serious issues were dealt with in such a mature, and honest manner. A wonderful story about what makes a family.

it's kind of ironic Stiles is fully supportive of the trans* kid, but teaches both children they should color inside the lines :/

I've a tooth ache from all the sweetness up in here.

Just so cute, the relationship development between Derek and Stiles is a bit odd but the stars of this show were Olly and Andy anyway so it didn't bother me that much.

These kids broke my heart a few times and getting to see them all become a family was adorable.

Derek beginning to understand his daughter was so sweet and yeah, I cried, I'm not made of stone people!!

“It’s okay to be a princess, if that’s what makes you happy.”

Sweet and fluffy and a bit sad. A story about a family that was broken finding a person who helps not only put them back together but makes it better by joining it.

Can I get an awwwww?

A couple snaggly bits not tied up at the end but in my head the two loose ends were thrown into a ravine by a rouge alpha and their bodies never recovered. There. Loose ends all tied up. The End.

I've never rated a Sterek fanfiction 5 stars before (though my collection on GRs really is quite pitiful), and there are few that I've even been wholly emotionally invested in. It's not that I don't support or believe in this ship as much as others, but I've just never really taken the stories as seriously as I might have for, say, Drarry. I suppose there came a time when I tired of haunting the knotting tag on AO3. But I think one of the things that really pushed this story over the edge for me are the characters (i.e. mostly the children) and realistic themes.

I'm not a huge fan and lover of children. I'll never be the one family orientated men pick when they watch my eyes light up near children. Because my eyes don't. But I assure you, reading about these children really did make my eyes light up. Even through the tantrums and the tears and the scratching (were-babies, aggressive shits) there was this ever present fuzzy feels in my chest, because it was just so damn heartwarming and adorable and sweet and at times, heartbreaking.

Something else that really hit me hard -a follow up to the children- was Andy. Little, sweet Andy. I've never encountered a transgender character in all my reading, to my knowledge,(cross-dressing, yes, but never one that identified themselves as the opposite gender) and I'm so glad I lost my transgender-character-virginity to this story. It was difficult at first, especially as no one had previously understood that Andy wasn't going through a phase, she was a girl, she was a Princess, and I think this story is a perfect reflection of society. I teared up in numerous scenes because it was so heart wrenching to see the utter love and acceptance in the family (later on), and, in another sense of the word, to see the intolerance and prejudice against her in society.

Derek was never a bad father, he was just a poor one, and I do think it's important to distinguish that. When the story began, I was so angry at Derek, even as I understood that he didn't really have any fucking clue, but he loved them so much, and oh my god, all that family love *starts tearing up again*.

Anyway, enough about characters and blabbering on about shit people don't even half understand if they don't read the book. This is a wonderfully emotional and engrossing read. It pulls on all your metaphorical heart strings (even ones you didn't know you had. *cough* children) and it really is a fulfilling read.

I know I didn't mention the romance much (at all, lol) but YUMay much. Yeah, Sterek. Sterek sex. One of the many wonders of the world. And all the family love. *happy sob* And there's humor. Gee whiz, sounds like a good read doesn't it? *grins*

This fanfiction is wonderful, and I swallowed all one hundred and one thousand words. Greedily.

Rating: Maybe not quite 5 Stars, but fuck you it's a 5.

I enjoyed this story.

Just two short comments:

1. The sex felt too buddy-buddy and bent on being all about the banter to me. I would have preferred passion to the conversational, friendly sex here.

2. "...a dick as hard as a trigonometry final". Has to be my new favourite simile :-)

Domestic Sterek.

Thoughtful and loving expose on Stiles and Derek as caretaker and parent for twins. Not really a romance more than a family story with some careful consideration of transgender issues.

What is it about Derek/Stalinski (Sterek) fan fic that causes me to ignore real life? I fear it is an unnatural obsession. I don't even watch Teen Wolf! Yet I collect photos I find on Tumblr of the two of them.

This story is really a wonderful alternative universe find. This is very OK with me because I don't know all the cannon that goes with the show, therefore I can just revel in the characters and new story concepts.

The story revolves around Derek's twin sons, one of which really wants to be a girl. Derek is working his ass off to protect his kids who are his reason for living. However he is working so much he is not being a very present father to them. Enter Stiles as a baby sitter who gives the kids what they need. He falls in love with them and then with their dad. Crises ensue and little by little a family is formed. Of course there is the major miscommunication that results in a breakup and then a crisis that brings them back together. Lots of plot elements are not tied up neatly.

I am thrilled to see that this is the first part of a trilogy. Because the first part ends at an appropriate location (no horrific cliffs) I can wait for the continuation without going crazy.

Recommended for Sterek fans who like children.

This was a very sweet Sterek. I loved it.
It’s strange because normally I don’t like books with young children in it. Because they are often portrayed as annoying or they do not act their age at all. But this one was quite good.

In this one Stiles is hired by Derek as a babysitter for his twin boys. Stiles was his normal awkward self. I have to share my favorite quote with you guys.

“He also didn’t use to do the face-touching thing, either. That part I’m still confused about. I tried asking him, you know. He broke a cantaloupe with his bare hands. It was like I asked him if he likes to stick his--erm… love rocket… into vacuum hoses or something.”

I loved Olly and Andy. They were adorable. And they still felt authentic enough for me. They did act like I would expect from 4 year old twins, well, werewolf twins.

description

This revolves around the kids a lot and I adored the fact that Stiles helped Derek accept Andy for who she was. Or wanted to be, a girl, not a boy.

Derek stepped out of his bedroom, dress swaying around his legs as he approached with a cheap dollar store tiara on his head, and another one in his hands that was meant for Andy.
“It’s okay to be a princess, if that’s what makes you happy,” he said stiffly, brandishing the tiara like a peace offering.

This is a slow burner. Not a lot happens in the smut department, at first. Stiles and Derek fall slowly for each other and I loved it! There was never a moment where I was missing the smut. And when they do finally admit their feelings for each other and get it on, oh yeah!

This book ends with some loose ends, but overall this was a cute, sweet Sterek read!

1) You know what's really hard to write? Young children. The kids in this fic are four-year-old twins who act like two-year-olds--a little of that goes a really long way.

2) There was one scene where they were making cookies and my hair nearly stood straight up on top of my head. If you've never made cookies before, don't write cookie making into your story--the butter goes in first, it's "dough" not "batter", and you cannot wander off and do other things that would take easily 45 minutes while they're in the oven.

3) I do love the found-family trope though, and I really liked how Andy's gender was handled.

This story was one long, sloooooooow burn.

The kids in this story - and Stiles' interaction with them - were beyond cute and provided me with many smiles and giggles (which is EXACTLY what I am looking for from grumpy dad Derek/domestic Stiles).

On the downside, the story's pacing left a little something to be desired. The author built up subplots involving both Kate and Peter to give certain chapters their dramatic flair, but never followed through to resolve either conflict. It left the story feeling unfinished (which is understandable given that Prince Among Wolves was originally conceived as the first in a three part series) and frustrated me as a reader.

A cute well-written sterek fanfic. College student Stiles becomes the long term baby-sitter to businessman Derek's twin four year old boys Andy and Ollie. Andy has gender issues which Stiles recognizes. The children make Stiles part of their pack but how does Derek feel about it?

"You act like you own me," Derek hissed, breath reeking of alcohol and the distinct bittersweet stench of monkshood, "you talk to me like you're better than me, like you fixed me -- like I don't know you want me."

I've been reading some Sterek fan fiction lately, and this one is quite long and well-written. I'm a sucker anyway for stories with kids/manny stories and this one is great. Cute werebabies, Stiles and Derek. If you like manny stories, give this one a try, even if you're not into Teen Wolf.

This fic surprised me. I was expecting some really nice fluff. You know what I mean. Throw in some kids, a hapless babysitter, and mix with a hot werewolf dad - doesn't that sound like so much fun? Well there was plenty of fluff but with a huge side order of emotional smack down that I was not prepared for.

There were so many feels - my heart clenched constantly while reading this. You've got Stiles with the yearning, the unrequited feelings; the blatant desire to be a part of Derek's family was so enormous. You've also got Derek with the need to provide, the insecurity of how to be there for his children and his usual inability to communicate effectively. Then there's the particularly horrible mess that was Kate being the mother of the boys. Add in heavy seriousness as one of the twins was transgender. On top of that, though the cuteness factor of the kids was high, their scenes were just as poignant as all the adult angst too! These guys have a shit ton of stuff to work through that of course, involves their growing feelings for each other.

Sooo this ends on a high note but supposedly it's part of a planned series that has not yet come about. As many have said, there are some loose ends. Here's keeping my fingers crossed that there's more.

S'Okay. I kind of liked it. 2.5

Lots and lots and lots (like Jelly-Tots) of very adorable cutesy - wootsey were-baby moments. Cuddles and smoochies and tantrums and nap times and playtimes and ... I'm exhausted and my teeth hurt.

Lots of UST not enough LUST!

I ended up skimming this, so I am clearly not the target audience for Teenwolf fanfic.

I probably would have liked it more if there had been more. I mean, it ended on a pretty odd scene...with none of the "Peter is fucking up the business" or "Kate is fucking with the kids" plotlines resolved. So, yeah, I'm oddly disgruntled by that. Anyone know if there will ever be a sequel? It's been like 5 years but I've waited longer for more (and actually gotten it, surprise!), so I'll keep watching I guess.

3.5 stars I really enjoyed this story, and only rounded down because it was so long and I don't think the added length was used to wrap up the things it should have (aka: Kate).

This story was so incredibly sweet! I absolutely adored both kids, they both had such great and unique personalities. I liked that they weren't perfectly behaved kids like you see in most romance books, although they really did cry a lot. It was so effen sweet to see how quickly Stiles understood Andy, and how he was able to help her and to help Derek know how to handle her and talk to her.

It's Sterek, so of course there were some stupid miscommunications which are always a little baffling given that Derek can smell Stiles' emotions and arousal! And Kate's appearance was added drama that I don't really feel was fully resolved . The stuff with Peter was also left open, and they never had any positive interactions with anyone outside the family/friends who realized that Andy was a transgender girl. Maybe an epilogue of the kids doing well in their first year of school would have given some nice closure.

But it was too stinkin' cute. and Stiles was amazing as always. And feels. And once they finally got there... the sex! Yum.

A bit overlong, and a couple of parts were left dangling...

But overall it was a sweet read with enough fluffy to make me smile...and stay up until nearly one o'clock to finish it!

ETA for re-read 11/6 2015
I have been thinking about this fic a lot in the past couple of months so I decided it was time for another read. I don't remember it feeling so unfinished the last time I read it.

But I finished and I STILL have so many questions about Same as the last time I read it.

The ending is more disappointing because in a year nothing else has been posted to answer those questions.

I started off loving this, the kids are brilliant, but then it got a bit too silly and predictable, and then it redeemed itself towards the end.

Sterek totally played second fiddle to Andy (who was adorable) and Ollie

DNF. Dotrwałam do końca 4 rozdziału.

This started out as a solid 4 stars. I was completely infatuated with the babies and Stiles as a baby sitter. I honestly couldn't get enough sugary sweetness. Reading about how Stiles dealt with werebaby tantrums, Andy's gender identity issues ( which admittedly gave more substance to the kid storyline), and Derek's broody attitude was a treat. I kept waiting for all the sexual tension from the scent marking to lead to some explosive sex but... It didn't. Sure I enjoyed Derek and Stiles playing house but it didn't really evolve further than that. Kate's plot line never got resolved with some finality and when the guys finally got together.. It was very uninspiring. I had a big WTF moment when stiles almost fell asleep during their first time together. Seriously dude?! I was also not very convinced of their relationship having promise for longevity. They kept arguing and miscommunicating and I had enough.

So... Entertaining and very platonic for more than 80% of the story but not great. If you enjoy reading about kids like I do, you'll probably have fun in the first half. As for the second half.. Be warned.

Oh! I heart Sterek's fanfic and I heart this book. I discovered it two months ago and never look back. I can't even tell you how much I love this. The kids were cute and the sexual tension was just right on the border of being too much. This is one of the good ones. I know these two characters from the show and just love discovering each authors take on these two characters. I would recommend this book to Sterek's fan.

Cute fic about Stiles as a babysitter for Dereks family. It's not as good as DILF by twentysomething (similar constellation), but pretty fun anyway. One interesting part is that one of the kids (twins) is transgender. Both are adorable and the family theme feels very comforting. The romance is really slow and sweet. Definitely recommended to pass some time. And it's free!!!
