Rate this book
When Keira becomes a widow, she realizes that the life she once had wasn’t normal after all. After her husband is brutally murdered, she is more than just alone but vulnerable to threats and tangled in a web of greed. Her decisions lead her into a corner, and safety is jeopardized.

Aiden, Caedmon Council member, has never failed when it comes to fulfilling the terms of his employment contract. When he is hired to protect an heiress, he doesn’t plan on her being the only woman to bring both challenge and purpose in his life. Without hesitation, he vows to keep the grieving Keira safe—even from himself.

Keira trusts Aiden unconditionally and finds joy whenever they are together, but can love transcend a tragedy? Aiden’s urge to protect her is just as great as his desire to claim her. Aiden and Kiera story gave me life!!!!

Aiden is a Wolf and Highly trained bodyguard, who has retired from the business at the age of 35 years old (Now that's what I am talking about Woot!) so now he is just relaxing and concentrating on going full time in the Caedmon council. But Max his contact has one more job for him which Aiden insist he isn't interested and get His brother Blake to do it. Max is insistent on Aiden doing it, he gives in and tuition tells him this job he is about to take he will never be the same and oh how true it is.

Aiden's job is to protect Kiera Ellis who is a widow and as soon as he walk in he smells peaches. Well of course he thought something was being made with it. Never suspecting that the peach smell is coming rom his mate. The minute he is introduced to her, man and wolf stand up to take notice and the word "Mine" solidifies that his mate whose life is in danger and the widow of a man murdered belongs to him.

Talk about a story of how these two come to be lol!!! I absolutely loved it. I loved Aiden because he is truly a protector and knew how to explain to Kiera that she belongs to him. I loved Kiera because she is truly a fighter, she is not a whiner and although scared out of her mind she will fight and fight for her man Aiden. The interesting thing also is that Kiera is human which I actually like when I read paranormal. Which doesn't mean I don't enjoy stories where the woman is like her intended mate. It's just I love reading the dynamics of human and Werewolf, Vampire or some other Shifter working together to blend their worlds into one.

This is a definite read for sure and I am looking forward to reading the another story from this series. This isn't my first book read in this story, my first book was "Wolf's Haven" which is Alpha leader Devin and Tamara's story such an excellent story. I am making my way through this series (out of order at that, Lawd I need to get my act together lol!!)

Well until my next review Ciao Bellas!

2.5/5.0

Keira’s husband was murdered – and she seems to be the only one who wants to catch the killer. After a break-in she calls for reinforcements, in the form of a bodyguard named Aiden. The trouble doesn’t stop there however, as her late husband’s family seems determined to get rid of her – is there something darker at play here? Perhaps something…supernatural?

Aiden is a retired bodyguard and a wolf. The former is what brought him to Keira, but the latter might be responsible for keeping him beside her. After all, it was that part of him that recognized her as his mate. Passion and danger are more entwined than ever before for him, because this time it’s playing for keeps.

If reading a physical copy, be careful of the steam rising off the pages; this book is highly flammable! And very, very easy to fall into. While sexy scenes are exciting, in a book this short, the number of them left little space for, er, anything else. Things like the larger plot, characterization and romance beyond “Me, wolf, you my mate” are placed on the back burner. Also, the editing. This book could use A LOT more of it, both for the spelling mistakes and the rather rough writing. It is a testament to the author, that despite all that, the story of Aiden and Keira draws a reader into their dreams and emotions – and into the world of wolves.

Keira is a widow who suspects her husband was murdered by an animal. With the case closed and pressure from the family, she is convinced to solve it on her own after a break-in. She had a lawyer hire Aiden. Aiden is a wolf shifter in the Caedmon pack, and on the council, he is a recently retired bodyguard who decides to take on one last job. Aiden meets her and discovers that this widow is his mate. She has some relics that don’t belong, and others have been after them. The story really ramps up and gets super hot and steamy.

This story is filled with Caedmon wolf legend, history, and of course, mating. Albeit short, this story was intriguing. I did hope that the author would give us more about these characters.
I did really enjoy the mystery in suspense in the story and how the characters came together. The wolf lore is interesting, and I love how it is expanded on in most books.

The best love story so far...

Keira Ellis' marriage of convenience had come to an end with the murder of her husband right before her eyes. Now she was left with his dying wish to protect their home from his greedy family. She hired Aiden, a member of the Caedemon pack, as her bodyguard.

Aiden knew the moment that he met her that she was his mate. The challenge to himself was how to accomplish gaining her as his mate without just jumping her bones.

This was my favorite of the series thus far. Five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wolf's Desire

Enjoyed book 4 in the Caedmon Wolves series. Kiera is looking for answers to her husband's murder. When someone breaks into her home she knows she needs protection. Aiden has retired but accepts one last bodyguard assignment. Arriving at Kiera's he scents his mate.
Plenty of romance and suspense. These books can be read as standalone but some situations cross over.

I am a sucker for Wolf shifting stories! Kiera and Aiden were amazing characters and the story kept me interested the entire time. It was pretty amazing and a good read. Kiera was pretty darn awesome and I love the "widow" story and thought that it was great finding out the mystery of the characters. I think the authors did a great job telling a story of shifters!

Shifter story by author new to me. Wolves this time.

I liked this story even though I had not read any of the other in this series. As with most shifter stories a lot of sex involved but I just skim over those parts and get on with the plot.

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤
VERY GOOD: The characteristics of a 4 star book include: a great story; I loved the characters; and there was an interesting plot and unique story elements; there may have been a few odd things kept the story from being amazing. I would read it again and I would recommend it to a friend.
Rating's Breakdown:
Quality of writing: Solid

Pace: Crisp and punchy but built at a logical pace

Characters: Diverse and interesting

Plot development: Multifaceted. The plot was not just about the romance but about the escalating conflict between the Caedmon and Arnou.

Story line: Good. Tightly woven together with interesting components.

Enjoyability: Enjoyable. A very dynamic installment in the Caedmon series.

Heat Level: Muy caliente!
My Thoughts:
This book was provided by the author for an honest review.

Wolf's Desire was a very enjoyable read. This story was the best in the Caedmon series for me because it contained equal measures of intrigue and romance.

A word about the characters...
I enjoyed the dynamics between Keira and Aiden. Keira was the clichéd damsel in distress. A widow fighting to uncover the truth about her husband's death while trying to stay alive in the process. Aiden was the big, strong, alpha male who pledged to protect her because she is his client and, more importantly, his mate. Their relationship builds at even pace as Keira's continued challenges draw her deeper into Aiden's world and even closer to his heart.

A word about the story...
Wolf's Desire contained the perfect balance of romance, intrigue, and action. The action was clear and description without being overly verbose and cumbersome. The passion scenes were perfect because they contained the right amount of smexy bite. I appreciate how we get to see, if only briefly, characters from the earlier stories in the series. I liked how the story crescendo built evenly in Keira and Aiden's relationship and in the impending conflict. The end of the story left me wanting more.

Keira and Aiden get their happy for now but happy times are not on the horizon for the Caedmon because war is coming...and quickly.

A challenge...
As this is an honest review, I will state that there were a few editing issues throughout the story. However, these issues were not enough to distract or detract from the story.

I'm not sure who the characters will be in Wolf's Strength but I look forward to seeing what happens next for the Caedmon.

Ambrielle Kirk's Wolf's Desire is a swift, sexy dip into a dangerous paranormal world where the slightest hesitation can result in death.

Keira Ellis became a widow in a grisly way. Her husband was brutally murdered and Keira insists that there were two killers, one human, and one... Other. Her husband hasn't been dead for very long before her life is threatened. Determined to find out why her husband was murdered, Keira hires Aiden Price to protect her. As danger stalks them both, Keira learns that not only was her husband murdered, but that his killer is now after her as well.

Wolf's Desire is relatively short for a paranormal romance but it packs a lot into it. There's a lot of fast paced action in this book that keeps a reader interested without overlooking the developing romance between Aiden and Keira. The pacing is brisk but easy to follow and the entire book flows quite smoothly, with very little "slow spots" to contend with. The characters are entertaining and likable, however, Keira was a little slow to warm up to. She came off as incompetent, especially in a tough situation. She wanted answers to her husband's murder, even though she knew it could be dangerous. That was admirable but yet, the sound of an angry male on the phone was enough to send fear through her. She had a bit of a defenseless damsel vibe and that wasn't helpful to Aiden at all. It wasn't until the last quarter of the book that she started to really be a heroine instead of just a woman in trouble.

Aiden on the other hand was a sturdy character. He isn't protective just because it's his job, but because it's in his nature. He won't prey upon innocents but he will go through someone who threatens their safety. He's also secretive, patient, intelligent and kind. He's an alpha male who didn't abuse his power or force Keira to do anything that wasn't in the interest of keeping her alive. He's intensely attracted to Keira, due in part to the fact that she is his mate. Ever the professional, he continues to resist her because she needs his protection more.

All in all, Wolf's Desire is a fun read. Readers who want a paranormal romance that doesn't have too much of a paranormal element will enjoy Ambrielle Kirk's work. Wolf's Desire is part of a series but thankfully can be read and understood as a stand alone novel. That doesn't mean that the other books in the series shouldn't be read as well, considering that there's a back story to the Caedmon wolves that seems very interesting.

Keira Ellis wants justice for her husband’s murder. She knows what she saw the night he was murdered, one man and one wolf, but no one will believe her. When her husband’s lawyers come to her to tell her that his case has been closed and that his murderer has been found dead, she knows at least one murderer or beast is still at large. Deciding to investigate his case herself, she decides that hiring a bodyguard may be in her best interest.

Aiden Price thinks he has just worked his last job as a bodyguard and is looking forward to his life of retirement and being able to concentrate on pack business, but when he receives a phone call requesting his services one more time he finds it too intriguing to resist. When he arrives at the Ellis estate he wants to get right down to business and get a feel for the property and the house so he wants to be taken to meet Keira right away. Within feet of meeting her he catches her scent and realizes this job may have just taken on a complication he wasn’t expecting, Keira Ellis is his mate.

This is the first book by Ambrielle that I have read, and even though it is the 4th in the series, it reads quite well as a standalone. It was a very enjoyable read that sucked me in from the beginning, but about half way through the editing seemed to decline a bit, not really enough to be a distraction but was very noticeable. I also feel that the story started to get a bit rushed at about the half way mark. I really enjoyed the characters and would have loved to have had just… more.

I got this through the Goodreads Firstreads giveaway program. It was free, which is great.

While this book isn't the worst I've read by a long shot, it still wasn't all that great. From the writing of the book I can infer that it was written solely with sexual tension and sex in mind. Oh yeah, the story! There's a story ... kind of? I suppose this genre of books relies on sex to sell, to the detriment of good writing; however, as I've never read a romance novel quite like this before, I could be wrong. Maybe they can have good writing.

Anyway, the characters were underdeveloped (because SEX!), the story was barely there (more SEX!), and there was nothing beyond physical chemistry to connect the two lovebirds (things absolutely must be sacrificed for the good of the sex!); there were editing errors throughout (I think the editors were distracted. Who wouldn't be?), and while I truly don't have problems with sex in novels - even copious amounts of it - what I can't stand is the crude way in which this book was written. Immature writing falls back on the crass to keep people interested. There are definitely ways to write those scenes and not be so ... animalistic. Ha! See what I did there? It's funny 'cause he's a werewolf... OK, I need to stop writing before I get ridiculous.

Again, I'll mention that this is not my genre of choice in the first place, so my review is pretty harsh. I was blinded by my love for fantasy when entering to get this book free.

Wolf's Desire is the 4th book in the Caedmon Wolves series by Ambrielle Kirk. After Keira’s husband was murdered by a man and a wolf, no one believed her story of the incident, but she knew what she saw and stood by her story. It wasn’t until after she was cleared of the murder and one of the killers was found that she sought the protection of a body guard. With people breaking into her home and the wolf still out there, she knew she wasn’t safe. What she didn’t know was that the man who would become her bodyguard was her future mate. Aiden was done playing bodyguard and was ready for his retirement from the profession that is until he got the call he couldn’t refuse. One last job is all this was until he walked in the room and set his sights on Keira. I absolutely love this series. My only issues is that for some reason she likes the women in her stories to be virgins, after a few stories like that it gets old. But still a great love story with sexy scenes and an amazingly sexy shifter. You can’t go wrong with one of those. This was actually one of my first shifter books I ever read and I have been hooked since. Ambrielle knows how to write hot, sexy love stories with great plots and action. If you are a paranormal romance reader you will love this book along with the rest in this series.

This is the first book I have read in this series, but I didn't feel completely lost because I haven't read the first 3 books. I wanted to read the book because it was paranormal romance, but I really enjoyed the book because there was also action and mystery. The hero is a warrior type, but he shows the heroine compassion and caring. The heroine is definitely in need of rescue, but she isn't weak or stupid. There is a happy ending to the romance between the main couple, but the main story arc continues on. I plan to read more in this series. *I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

Ambrielle pens "Wolf's Desire", the fourth book in the 'Caedmon Wolves' series and the first one that I have read by this author. I found that it was a good stand alone book. Between the action and the passionate romance, it hooked me in right from the start. Her characters were well developed and had great chemistry but really wanted to see more of what was happening....maybe in the next book I'm hoping.

This book was very intriguing from the start, I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Aiden I liked from the beginning, he's a tough as nails, sexy, bad ass whose job is protecting Keira. Keira's husband was murdered a year ago and authorities want to close the case saying the killer was found dead but Keira isn't convinced they found the killer, so she hired her own body guard after someone broke into her house. Very intriguing... And hot as hell, these two are on fire, they are so hot together. 4.5 stars review by Nanee at upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com

I was very intrigued with the plot in this one. I was happy that the initial focus wasn't trying to get Keira and Aiden into bed. My biggest issue with this series is that all these women are virgins. I could understand if they were homely looking and shit but they aren't. So why are they still virgins? Just doesn't seem realistic to be.

Gotta say that the sex in this one was hot and I really liked Aiden. "You already know this, but I fuck with three things. My fingers. My dick. And my tongue. Not necessarily in that order."

I picked this up as a book inbetwen others in a series and is have read it as a one off and enjoyed it. Wasn't sure if I needed to read he whole series but looks like I can just read this as a stand alone as appears to be 6 books in series.
I wasn't sure what to expect but got a man that is a wolf, a widow, some hot sex and some old relics. I would consider reading other books in series.
Frustrated that book finishes on 91%.

Aiden is a Wolf shifter hired to protect Keira after her husband is murdered. I liked Aiden a lot. He comes across as being noble, strong, protective and sexy hot. Keira is strong, determined, smart and ballsy. I loved the chemistry and tension between the two. He knows she's his mate yet he wants to do the right thing by her. The story was exciting and had a good pace. As well as a good flow from start to finish. I would recommend this book. 4 Stars

This book was very intriguing from the start, I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. I have had this with all the other books in this series they were hard to put down... If I would start reading one before bed I would have to finish it before going to bed. With every page I couldn't wait to find out more, what was around the next corner, what would happen....

So bad. Tons of sex all with really gross descriptions. To describe how aroused Kiera is the author says "cream flowed down her thighs" and describes her nipples as "taut cylinders". The male's ejaculate is an aphrodisiac and gives Kiera a vision. People sometimes talk very formally and sometimes don't. Although a short book it felt very, very long. I wouldn't read more of the series.

I got this in the Happily Ever Alpha box set. I'm not sure if it's the fact that this is book 4, and I've read none of them, or if this was just not that good, but I was not a fan. Too much telling and not enough showing for me. I couldn't get invested enough in these characters. Not continuing with the series.

I had no expectations going into reading this book and was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it. Until the end. It just ended. No resolution to the key plotline. Just "decisions were made, lives were changed, the end." Boo.
