Alice in Deadland

Civilization as we know it ended more than fifteen years ago, leaving as it's legacy barren wastelands called the Deadland and a new terror for the humans who survived- hordes of undead Biters.

Fifteen year-old Alice has spent her entire life in the Deadland, her education consisting of how best to use guns and knives in the ongoing war for survival against the Biters. One day, Alice spots a Biter disappearing into a hole in the ground and follows it, in search of fabled underground Biter bases.

What Alice discovers there propels her into an action-packed adventure that changes her life and that of all humans in the Deadland forever. An adventure where she learns the terrible conspiracy behind the ruin of humanity, the truth behind the origin of the Biters, and the prophecy the mysterious Biter Queen believes Alice is destined to fulfill.

A prophecy based on the charred remains of the last book in the Deadland- a book called Alice in Wonderland.

Through The Looking Glass: Alice in Deadland Book II

More than two years have passed since Alice followed a Biter with bunny ears down a hole, triggering events that forever changed her life and that of everyone in the Deadland. The Red Guards have been fought to a standstill; Alice has restored some measure of peace between humans and Biters; and under Alice, humans have laid the foundations of the first large, organized community since The Rising- a city called Wonderland.

That peace is shattered in a series of vicious Biter attacks and Alice finds herself shunned by the very people she helped liberate. Now she must re-enter the Deadland to unravel this new conspiracy that threatens Wonderland. Doing so will mean coming face to face with her most deadly adversary ever- the Red Queen.

Off With Their Heads: The Prequel to Alice in Deadland

A few months before Alice was born and fifteen years before the dramatic events depicted in Alice in Deadland, there was The Rising. A few days that destroyed human civilization as we know it, reducing much of the world to a radioactive wasteland teeming with hordes of undead Biters and controlled by a shadowy Central Committee.

Off With Their Heads brings to life the final harrowing days of The Rising through four shorts, each depicting events through the eyes of one pivotal character in the Alice in Deadland series. See how Dr. Protima became the Queen of the Biters; feel the pain of a young man's sacrifice as he becomes the bunny-eared Biter whom Alice later follows down a hole; follow the rise of Chen from a conflicted young Chinese Army officer to a General in the Red Guards; and finally share in the dramatic escape of Alice's parents from a city overrun by Biters.

I have previously stated that I enjoy zombie apocalypse narratives because of the self-reliant nature of the subgenre. Societal structures have broken down, and now survival is contingent on individual drive, preparation, and the knowledge of how things work to effect repairs and create workable alternatives.

Alice in Deadland doesn't depend on any of the things previously mentioned; it works due to the creative hook of riffing on a whimsical children's book called Alice in Wonderland. In fact, the opening scene of the trilogy begins with a 15-year old Alice sitting guard-duty in the Deadland when she witnesses a zombie dressed in bunny ears and a second zombie with a "big hat" jump down a rabbit hole in the ground. I definitely would not have followed them, but this story is not about me. She does.

That is how the trilogy begins, and the story continues with more whimsy, of course, but there are plenty of gritty, gore-infused moments to follow. With this trilogy, Dhar constructs a post-apocalyptic scenario where nukes were deployed, the world population has been culled, and there were conspiracies built and edified. In this world, Alice is an inspiration for all with a vision toward constructing an optimistic future for humanity and the biters.

This is one of the first books I read on my Kindle about 10 years ago, and it is still as enjoyable today as it was back then. This is a really good story that is an original to the subgenre that pretty much relies on the repetition of tropes rather than originality. Because the book was an early pioneer to independent publishing, there are more than an acceptable amount of literary errors, but I still give it four stars, and a high recommend.

I like how creative the trilogy named “Alice in Deadland”, “Through The Killing Glass”, and “Off With Their Heads”. Overall the trilogy was great. It has a different perspective on the zombies. This is the first time I read about a book written by this author. However, I think I will like to read more often from him. I liked the first book. It was the best in the trilogy. The thrill I found between the pages was great. It will push to turn pages more and more to know what will happen next. And I liked this feeling.
The best thing I purchase the trilogy from the beginning since I do not want to wait for sequels. I am not a big fan of zombies and apocalypse thing, but I got surprised how this book is entertaining.
The plot, in general, was fast-paced and have many subplots which make the reading very entertaining. I found some sticky parts, but it did not affect the pace of the stories at all. There are some grammar and editorial errors, but they are not much and barely noticeable
The characterization was excellent and vivid, the way the author describes the biters was excellent. The character of Alice was terrific, and most of the time her action was realistic. The author pays too much attention to details especially for the environment and the way the theme was set up. I did not like the chapter length, felt some of them were too long, but the plot speed and the actions were helping.
I liked the trilogy, and as a whole the books are amazing, I loved the simplicity which made the reading very simple. And for sure I consider his trilogy as a recommended reading.

Alice in Deadland Trilogy Review

The Walking Dead meets Alice in Wonderland.

Synopsis:

I thought this book was action-packed, mysterious, thrilling and intense!
I haven’t read anything like this before and I’m glad that I picked it up!

I took me a few years to finish this book and I can finally say that I did!

“You either stood up against tyranny or became a slave to it, there was nothing in between.”

imaginative post apocalyptic tale. the walking dead on acid😋
my main critique is a lot of the story was text that could have been subtext...in other words there could have been a little more nuanced. but I believe in forward author stated this was self published for Amazon so he has my admiration and I will refrain from nitpicking more.

I took ages to read this book due to being Ill so it probably looks like I struggled with it but I really liked it. I love anything Alice in Wonderland and the new takes on it are always good. Funny enough though I actually preferred the last story Off With Their Heads which is the prequel to Alice in Deadland and she isn't even in it. I liked reading about the lead up to the zombie outbreak. I feel like this book hasn't made the popularity it deserves as it's a really good read and action packed. For anyone that can pick this up to read you would be worthwhile doing so as I thought it was really good. Only problem I did have was that the way it was printed was a bit annoying as it would switch characters who were in different places without a gap between the person before so I had to go back sometimes to reread as it was referring to someone else. Also the way it was printed in the book was a bit messy at times with words being double printed or spelt wrong or words just being added in. Obviously that isn't a problem with the writing or storyline, that's clearly a printing problem!

Engaging zombie trilogy

Quick read for 3 books. Never was really into all the zombie stuff, but I was very entertained by it. The second book was my favorite of the 3 and I do look forward to reading all the other books connected to these

Since this trilogy, I understand that there are additional Alice books. This series is wonderful--such an original idea! I love the setting in India, where you get a real feel for the pre-zombie density to the Badlands that Alice lives in. The best part is that the villains are real people.
Not only is the concept unique--apocalypse in India, where people are trying to form their own governments and figure out how to work together, and are dealing with an international army team that has ulterior motives.

As the story progresses, you can imagine the body count gets pretty high. And there are some great fight scenes. While still keeping with a loose Alice theme, Alice learns to work with the zombies to some extent. I enjoy thinking that maybe some zombies still have some thought left. I won't say any more to not wreck anything.

There are some glaring errors, especially in the second book, with misspelling and even a repeat of paragraphs, mid-draft. And there is a lot of repetition. That is the main reason I knocked off a point.

This was really cool. Obviously it has some grammar errors due translation but overall was good. The story started a bit slow in the first book. The second book took over the trilogy. The prequel was necessary to understand the background of the main characters. I will look forward to read the "side quests" books and more from this author.

"The most evil thing in this world is what one man can do to another."

When Alice in Wonderland meets Zombies you get the 'Alice in Deadland'. This story features Biters who are basically zombies. Even in a post-apocalyptic world, Alice jumps into a rabbit hole, Bunny Ears is the white rabbit but turned into a Biter, disappears down a hole in the ground which Alice tumbles down in an effort to follow him. There she discovers the Biter Queen who believes that Alice is part of a prophecy from a children's story and sort of a savior of both humans and Biters alike. There Alice learns the truth about her bleak world and that the Biters aren't the most dangerous thing out in the Deadland.

Through the Killing Glass’ is the second book in the Alice series. The zombies, who once had terrorised the people, are now in control of Alice because Alice is half human and half zombie.
The residents of the Deadland have formed a community named Wonderland. Humans and Biters are building a fragile peace but people in Wonderland are greedy for power. The red guards who were defeated earlier, are planning another attack, under their new leader Commissar Chen. He sets his plan into motion who wants to become the leader and is willing to disgrace Alice, her friends and the Biters. Can Alice bring peace in her community once again? Alice is faced with many challenges including the rejection of the people who once followed her.

Off With Their Heads is third book and a prequel that I am glad to have read. The answers for many questions are in this prequel that helps to fill in many of the blanks remaining from the first two books. It explores the backgrounds of several of the characters, However the story of bunny ears was touching. It made me want to read on to find out how they ended up in deadland. But it was rather slow paced.

So Overall I loved this twist of Alice in Wonderland with the Post-apocalyptic zombie story. The author combines a number of science fiction, fantasy, fairy tale and zombie tropes with lots of action sequences and a very strong female character. If you like zombie books with a little political tension running through it, then I think you should go on and give this a try.

Review -
The cover of the book is aptly designed and the title of the book perfectly defines the story. The plot of the book is interesting, unpredictable and gripping. It is a perfect blend of thrill, adventure, suspense, drama and action. The author has effictively narrated all the scenes that they look realistic like watching a movie. The biters part is very spooky to read. And after reading about the Red Guards I realized that dead ones are preferred over human beings.
Language used is simple and lucid. Characters are well developed and described by the author. Equal importance has been given to each and every character. The book has scary as well as emotional parts in it.
Overall, a great read.

This book started out so well. The idea was interesting, Alice was a plucky and enjoyable character... Sadly as I got further in the book my interest died off. Its been two weeks since I've started and after a few more attempts I've decided to throw in the towel. Maybe its not entirely fair to rate the book since I failed to complete it but I also have it shelved as "Did not finish." I think it's time to walk away from a book when the mere act of finishing it feels like work. For me it got far too heavy into the political and war strategy, especially for a YA book.

The title is awesome. Unfortunately, that pretty much covers my favorable comments. The level of depth in characterization is cartoon-grade. Scene descriptions are non-existent. Also, the writer beats you over the head with the evils of tyranny, rather than allowing you to figure out that obvious item on your own. There were also a number of errors in the Kindle version that appeared to increase in frequency as the book(s) progressed.

Alice in Deadland series authored by Mainak Dhar is an amazing read and is a set of 8 books, this Trilogy is a set of three books consisting of "Alice in Deadland" as Book I, Book II is "Through The Looking Glass: Alice in Deadland" and Book III is "Off With Their Heads: The Prequel to Alice in Deadland".

Except for names Alice and Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland book nothing is common or related to the original, this is a complete new plot. As the book title goes Alice is the main protagonist of the series, plot revolves mostly around her in Book I and Book II, Dr. Protima is protagonist in Book III.

Book I: Alice is a 15 year old girl, lives in India which is almost destroyed because of rising and is in constant war with Biters. Once while guarding her sister against biters she happens to see a rabbit escape into a hole, to follow rabbit she goes into the hole and thus she enters deadland unknowingly, so what happens after is the plot about. so who is Alice, who are biters, what is rising, whether rabbit is good or bad, what and how is deadland, whom all does Alice encounter in dealand, what does the prophecy say/read, how Alice survives and which side does she choose, know answers to all before questions and more in this book.

Book II: This is continuation to the first book, here Alice leads her group, safeguards them, brings peace and order so all can come exist without external intervention. But her enemies raise a army similar to her group to bring chaos, so how does Alice find and neutralise the enemy is the plot about. How easy is it to lead her group, what caused/happened that she looses power/ is on the run, how she gets back the power, what does she loose and gain in the process, what is the ray of hope she gets to know, know answers to all before questions and more in this book.

Book III: Book contains events before Alice was born and contains information of who is Dr. Protima, more about Alice's parents, who are biters and how they came into existence, who are responsible and how, course of events that led to rising, how Dr. Protima became Queen to Deadland, know answers to all before questions and more in this book.

My personal feeling is Book I is the best of all three, Book I though interesting is redundant as readers already know present story by connecting the dots. Plot isgripping with suspense, thrill, action and language is easy.

Very nice entertaining read and enjoyed reading every bit, would recommend to all readers.

Alice in Deadland is a Triology by Mainak Dhar.
It won't be wrong to say this is one of the best books I have read in this quarantine.

This book will simply lead you to see how human greed and thirst for power can lead the world to a disastrous ending.

Everything starts when Alice jumps into the hole after the bunny biter. Sounds familiar, isn't it?Alice in wonderland, one of the most famous fantasy novel but trust me this is not fantasy, it is far from it.

Alice in Deadland : It set in future after everything has turned into ruins and people are fighting with biters, who are more or less like zombies to survive daily. And how Alice is set to fulfill the prophecy the biter queen believes in. it is a story of fighting for their freedom and finding out who the actual threat is biters or the humans themselves.

Through the killing glass : Alice in Deadland book 2 : This is part 2 where again a man named arun will turn everything to ruins because of politics and greed for power, and how effective and helpful technology can be, and information being a more powerful weapon than grenade.

Off with their heads : The prequel to Alice in Deadland book 3 : This book is the prequel and the one where most of the questions get answered how Dr. Protima turned to be the Biter queen, and how Neil turns into one of the biters (bunny).

throughout the book you will get connected to each and every character, even the biters who feel no emotions. The way of narration is a very strong point of this book author knew how to compile her thoughts with appropriate breaks and turns and language is so smooth that at some points you feel the things, the flicker of doubt, the feeling of loss and giving up with no hope.
The main plot line is how a simple book and belief lead people to fight a loosing war and learn to coexist with what they thought was their enemy . The characters were written with thought and characterisation, even a single appearance of someone was there for a reason.
Have you read harry Potter, trust me just like that it was a different world but a lot more realistic and without magic, a 15 year old girl sacrificing everything to protect people and biters who belive in her.

I would recommend this book to everyone even if it's not your genre give it a read you will eventually want to read all three of them.

"Alice In Deadland" title at first reminds "Alice In Wonderland" which was a fairy tale but this one is definitely not.

This trilogy written by Mainak Dhar follows a dark and extremely threatening storyline which is greepy enough to hold the author from cover to cover.

“Alice in Deadland”, “Through The Killing Glass”, and “Off With Their Heads”. Three phases of one story.

The first phase starts with Alice, A 15 years old female protagonist from India. While her country was on verge to destroy because of war with biters and rising, during this situation in quest of keeping her sister safe Alice's eyes caught up a rabbit entering into his hole. This idea gave her new hope to be safe. At that point she follow the rabbit and ended up in totally different world which was beyond her imagination, the place was Deadland!! The point where story begins.

Second part of the story (Second book) is named as "Through The Killing Glass" Where we can see the brave and growing phase of Alice's character. In this part Alice can be seen leading and balancing between the groups of biters and human beings. This situation led Alice face challenges that revealed preety deep facts some were useful and some worst.

Third and last part is "Off With Their Heads" here the protagonist Alice gets substitute with the character of Dr. Protima, the Queen of Zombies. Situation unfolds deep pages of Alice's past. But where did this character appear? And how did she become queen of zombies?

Now That's the reason you've to pick up the book to know.

My Takeaways -
I don't think after writing the summary in my words there's something left to gave Idea about how much I liked reading the book.

So starting with title of each book, titles are well justified with detailed charecter frames and charecter growth.
Story is fast paced and engaging, slow at some spaces and well - detailed where needed.

Author has emphasized on detailing either it be theme or situation and specially switching between one to another twist. It makes the book imaginary and realistic at some places.

Writing style is smooth. There were some minor grammatical errors I found but I think that's not much distracting.

Written with ease but a definite nail biting fantasy read.

ALICE IN THE DEADLAND
Alice in the Deadland is a trilogy of three bestseller books. The books are essentially zombie thrillers.
🧟‍
BOOK 1 : ALICE IN THE DEADLAND
The book shows Alice, who is born three months after shit hit the fan, as girl who knows her way around the Deadland. Since she is born after the world was taken over 'biters', all she knows is how to survive and how to kill. This is the world where survival of the fittest theory rules, literally. However, one fine day, she gets a chance to go to the underground biter Base by following a biter in a hole in the ground and comes to know the truth about the origin of the biters and rise of them. The biter queen reads the prophecy to Alice and expects her to fulfill it. The book end Alice establishing peace between biters and humans.
🧟
BOOK 2 : THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS
The peace Alice helped establish and the human settlement called 'The Wonderland' is disturbed and things are turned worse than before when the those she trusted deceived her for the greed of power. The biter attacks get worse and she faces great pains to bring everything under control with the help of her trusted fellas and the 'Looking glass' of Dr. Edward (After which the book is named) plays a major role in achieving the same
🧟‍
BOOK 3 : OFF WITH THEIR HEADS
Off With Their Heads is a prequel to Alice in the Deadland. It shows the world before the a few months of birth of Alice in the perspectives of 4 of important characters of the story so far. The story shows the rise of biters and ruins of humanity. It shows struggle of Dr. Protima to save humanity and her becoming the queen of biters.
🧟
MY REVIEW :
I love how all the genres of adventure, thrill, suspense, mystery, drama were blended and the flow of the story was unhindered. The plot was completely captivating and engaging. The element of unpredictability was present which made it loveable. It always felt like whatever I predicted would be completely different than how the story would turn out which provided the satisfaction of reading something good. The characterisation of the book was amazing and each character had a purpose. No detail was unwanted. Must for thriller lovers❤️

Zombies(Biters) many have watched many movies, I never read a book on this topic. We might see politicians who are very thirst for power either in movies or in real. This shows us how humans are thirsty for power. In the quest of Biters Alice was born, she spent her entire life in a dead land, her education teaches about the guns and how to win the ongoing war for survival against the Biters. Once she founds a hole where she follows and from here it starts. She gets to know the origin of the biters, there was a queen for the biters. That queen reads the prophecy to Alice, finally ends with? read the book to know more.

The second story is about after Alice is the leader for both the humans and biters. In this book we see many characters, who help Alice, who wants to take the power from Alice. Arun, he wants to take control of wonderland. He makes things worst and with the help of Arjun, Danish, doctor Edward everything will get under control.

Usually, prequel should be the first, but here it is last, a bit odd, in this, we will know before the birth of Alice, the rise of biters, how the Dr.Protima she is the one who tries to save the humanity, but why she became the queen of the biters.

The answers for many questions are in the prequel maybe that was the reason this is in the 3rd place.

As you start reading the book you will be slowly but surely be sucked into the characters. What I liked about the book was the author has given an emotional touch throughout the stories. Because of this, the reader can feel the emotions and understand the characters

While a reader could ultimately read the fantasy stories as simply an astounding use of visuals, color, and sense description; a true reading of the stories shows how the characters battle within themselves and are not always the victor.

The narration of the stories makes the readers feel as though they are watching live characters in a realistic ambiance.
The cover looks good and well designed. The title is apt to the story. The language of the book is simple, lucid, and easy to understand with a good compilation of words.

Since it is a trilogy I picked up this book. I was caught by its beautiful cover and wanted to review in order to help fellow readers plan their BOTM or TBR.
The trilogy holds a)Alice from Deadland b) Through the killing glass c)Off with their heads

Alice from Deadland: The story revolves around young 15 year old who is born after the rising of zombies. Her education is totally different, its only about weapons and killing. Alice is shown to be bold young girl. One day on her duty she meets a Queen who narrates her story made by her on children book. The story ends with a peace settlement between biters and humans.
Through the killing glass: The second part of the book is followed by Alice being a leader. This story is different from the first set. Here we see Alice being leader to biters and humans. The wonderland is put into stake by a person named Arun. Then with the help of many new characters ,the place is brought back to normal.
Off with their heads :The author had the idea of prequel after Alice from deadland. This last set is prequel set to Alice from deadland. The plot brings into life the grieve of rising days. The story reveals how Dr. Protima became the Queen of the Biters and finally escape of Alice parents from city of biters.

The trilogy also answers to
• What secrets Alice discovered from Zombie?
• Can Alice save mankind from the terrible situation?
• Why does committee want Protima dead?
Overall the book was very interesting and emotional read. Each chapter sets out be trilling. The cover was beautifull, title defines the story line. The language used is effective. The characters re well developed and vivid, plot is gripping and fast paced. Narration is effective. I loved Alice, her actions are show realistic. Appreciation to the author for detailing every scene, themes in very beautiful way.

This is recommended trilogy to all fellow readers and for those who love trillers and fantasy.

HAPPY READING!!!

Name of the book : Alice In Deadland
Name of the author : Mainak Shar

Alice In Deadland is an adventurous trilogy by the author Mainak Dhar. The book consists of other two parts; i.e Through the Killing Glass and Off With Their heads.
All the three parts deals with the main protagonist Alice. And yes, please don't confuse this with Alice In Wonderland because this is completely different from that.
1st part : Alice In Deadland
The book deals with the protagonist Alice who gets lost in the Deadland while following a rabbit. The 15 year old teenager was unaware of the biters and the future that was waiting for her. Bought up by harmful amunitions, the adventurous journey in Deadline, was scribbled interestingly by the author. To know how made the people in Deadline live in trauma, one have to read the book

2nd part : Through the Killing Glass
Through the Killing Glass is the continuation of Alice In Deadland. Alice, who was lost in the Deadland while following a rabbit, gets lost. Being the protagonist, she fights with the biters to end the trauma in Deadland. In oder to bring peace and humanity in Deadline just like Wonderland, she have to face difficulties. To know if she have succeeded in end the conspiracy, one have to read the book.

3rd part : Off With Their Heads
Off With Their Heads is the continuation of the 1st and the 2nd part. Alice, was lost in Deadline fought for the peace and humanity. This part deals with the another protagonist Dr. Protima. To know if how she became the queen of biters and who was that rabbit, that Alice followed and got lost in Deadland, one have to read the book.

I loved the 1st and the last part. All the parts were interesting and had different adventurous. The title is apt and the cover is eye catching. Characterisation is well developed. The plot is interesting and engaging. The storyline is unique. Highly recommended for adventure lovers.

The cover is simple and beautiful and the title is catching as we are already familiar with the famous character on which the title is based. When I first looked at the title I thought, it's the same old famous book 'Alice in wonderland' but to my surprise it it's 'Alice in Deadland'.

What was more surprising to me was that this book is written by Mainak Dhar. Dhar has written some great thrillers based on Army combats with a pretty engaging plotline. Those books were real page turners.

When I read the plot of these books, I couldn't stop but think that how could Dhar write a fantasy book, but I was surprised for good.

It gives me great pleasure in saying that Dhar has mastered the art of connecting with the readers be it any genre.

This is a set of three books, the third book is a prequel to the first book and the 2nd book is the sequel to the first book.

The first book establishes the characters particularly Alice and takes us through story. Its a journey which is different and is sure to give you a ride. You get introspect to Bunny, yes there is a bunny as well.
Then we are introduced to the world of zombies, the biters. The book sets the pace for the sequel nicely.

The second book is past paced thriller where not only we learn about greed and power but at the same time feel emotions and are bound to think about things if we read between the lines. I believe each and every fiction is connected to us in some way and this book makes me think about the way greed has changed the humankind.

The third book is a prequel and does well to fill in the gaps which were left behind in the first two book. The protagonist of this book is not Alice but Dr. Protima.
She's an important character and I'm really glad that a standalone book was dedicated to her.

Overall I'm really impressed by the books and I'm sure I'll re read it again after some time. For me it's a 5 🌟 read.

Alice in Deadland is a story about Alice who was born just after the rising and is brought up surrounded by weapons. In the quest of Biters, she stumbles down the hole where she finds a book and a queen who narrates a prophecy and the book ends with Alice bringing the peace between biters and humans.

Through the killing glass: Alice in Deadland Book II starts with a new beginning with Alice being the leader for both humans and Biters but the greed for power in one man named Arun almost takes the entire wonderland into a worse situation than before but with the help of her close acquaintance in the form of Satish, Arjun, Danish mainly the looking glass along with the doctor Edward, the situation comes under control.

Off with their heads: The prequel to Alice in Deadland starts with Dr. Protima Dasgupta who receives a package from her former colleague Stan and as the unknown beings rising from death, she tries harder to save the humanity but when the government is behind this, she is left with no option other than running for her life escaping the biters and the officials.

Finally, the interesting thing in all three is knowing
- How Dr. Protima became the Red queen?
- How Alice became the White Queen?
- How Neil converted into Bunny ears?

Every part is emotional yet very captivating. It was scary when reading about Biters but then the Red Guards has brought a thought maybe the dead were better than such inhuman beings.

Review:
- The titles were perfect for the stories.
- The language is lucid and easy to understand.
- Characterization is very strong. Each character has an important role.
- The plot is unique and the narration is damn interesting.

And in the end a brief summary of the eight stories in the series is provided. I would recommend this series to everyone who love thrillers.

As soon as the word Zombie comes in our mind, it reminds Hollywood horror movies and if they actually existed around us, it is definitely something to be scared of since Zombies eat Humans & they are brainless to think on whom they are attacking.
We very well know the concept that suddenly the dead started walking and we named them Zombies but very few people know the root cause of it.

"Alice in Deadland" is a trilogy which tries to clear the misconception between Humans & Zombies.
This book consists of 3 stories, where the story is written from the point of view of Humans, Zombies & then it brings out the root cause of who actually started this destruction.
Even though Humans suffer, but one can not ignore the fact that, We humans give birth to evil & we ourselves begin to fight against them..
The concept might be quite similar with Zombies.
This book introduces the readers to new Land of surprise stories.

Alice is believed to be the saviour but does that means she will destroy every single Zombie or is she going to be the saviour of the enemy?
There is a character introduced called the Queen ( Dr. Protima ) who comes up with a twist that will question the myth of entire Humanity.
The story of Zombie Queen, the secrets, the Alice's decision & her bravery, everything is balanced with crisp narration.

As I picked this book, I remembered the Alice in Resident Evil and this book without copying the storyline has come up with the unique storyline.
Readers who were fan of Zombie movies, this book is treat for you.
The Alice's painting on the wall was something that kept me too curious.
The Author has again done a brilliant job by portraying another soft side of the so called enemy.
Strongly recommended to all.

📘 Alice in deadland Trilogy
✍ by Mainak Dhar
Rating - 4.7 ✨
The trilogy which consist these books :
1) Alice in deadland
2) Through the killing glass
3) Off with their heads

The 1st book put an impact on life of Alice that how he born and became a friend of weapons? How all the wonders happened to him? And all about the tranquility between humans and biters.

2nd part of trilogy makes Alice the one who got the humans and biters altogether with the help of his comrade he overcome the context because of his arduous efforts when due to some greedy guys wonderland got in trouble.

3rd part of trilogy is kinda the denouement of the whole mankind. Dr. Protima Dasgupta enters to be the saver of unknown deaths which rose rapidly. She did so many efforts but failed and run to escape her life along with biters and others.
Other than this there is a lot of to read in the story which is becoming the red queen of Dr. Pratima and Alice to white queen. How wonderland got in trouble and what happens after all to set that free?
A compelling and interesting book which own our hearts. Full of hunt, thriller, fiction, adventures, destruction, bit emotions and power which brought you into an another world which can be envisaged only. Author ideas and imagination to depict the book is really fabulous. Entertain and suspicious read it was.
I love the book until the end which aroused me to read further and further.
A unique and wonderful work. Must go for it, I'm sure you will like this.

Remarkable plot twists

First of all, being a Disney fan and especially Alice's, I was amazed by the plot. I mean, I never thought Alice in Wonderland can be used as a reference to change and save humanity. Thanks to Author for this story.
It is trilogy by an Indian author. I have read some trilogies like "The Sydney Rey Mysteries" and "The Brontë Sisters". And I love them.

Trilogies have pros and cons: the common con of it is lengthy. Obviously, because it's all the series are published together. And it's pros is that it keeps us hooked and we get along with stories.

Coming back to our Alice in Deadland it is a story of after The Rising. That means when biter alike (zombies) took over civilization. And some Powerful organizations use them as bait to rule over the world. How world shifted and fight for their freedom is worth reading. What we observe or I should say, what powerful people make us discover. It is not often for our benefit. They are power driven and people like them, can do anything to be there. I believe, Alice wants us to see beyond and save humanity.

Story is navigated smoothly and plot twist is remarkable. Characters were supportive too. While reading it, I was thinking about how it would look like a movie. We all have seen movies and series on zombies. But, personally, I would like to see it.

It is recommended not only because of its Alice in Wonderland reference but I have read other books of same author like Sniper's eye. And that was fantastic. I would like to read more from him.

ALICE IN DEADLAND TRIOLOGY the name may sound similar to most of us. But the story is very much interesting and different than the one we have in our mind when we hear the title.
It is a story by Mainak Dhar about a girl named Alice.

So the book has three parts.
ALICE IN DEADLAND: This book starts with the introduction on how Alice was born and how she met bunny ,the biters (zombies) and their queen . She learns that there was more to what she was told and she knew only one side of the story.
Will Alice be able to come out of the hellhole she was caught in or she will be stuck there forever!!!

THROUGH THE KILLING GLASS: The second part starts with Alice being the leader of both humans and biters and she tries to keep the peace between them. But Arun a powerhungry man worsens the situation in wonderland.
Will Alice be able to regain peace again?
How did Alice became the queen?

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS: The last book starts with how the Protima Dasgupta becames the biters queen and how government is responsible for the whole situation. The story takes back to the timeA before Alice was born.

My insight: I loved the plot . It kept me hooked also reminded me of my childhood.
I must say the author took zombie stories to the next level mixing it with our childhood character Alice.
Characters were well described and the language was kept simple.
Coming to the cover and the title it totally goes with the storyline. And I personally loved the cover it has a vintage mood to it.
Already looking forward to read the 4th book in the series.

REVIEW:- ALICE THE DEADLAND TRIOLOGY
AUTHOR:- MAINAK DHAR

As from the book title we know that “Alice” is the protagonist of this triology. First and second book plot revolves around her but for the 3rd book "Protima" is the protagonist.

Book1:- Alice in deadland:- In the First book we gonna know about a young girl named “Alice”. That time Human constantly is in the war with Biters. Who is Biters, Why they are fighting with humans that’s all we gonna know at the end of this book

Book2:- Through the killing glass:- This is the continuation of the first book where now alice is leading the group of humans against the biters. How easy for her to led the group and what happened next who won?

Book3:- This book contains the story of Dr. protima “Queen of zombies”. This is the story before alice born. Here we know who are biters, who’s alice parents and every answer of the questions in the series filled in this book.

For me the third book is best. It gasp my attention and interest towards them very much and this thing made the book even more enjoyable for me.
Every book contains different concept it makes this series even more engaging for the readers.

The plot is so well paced and the narration of the story is very well. Author narrated everything in such a beautifull manner. The writing style is so simple, so even a beginner can easily understand every part and every scene of the book easily.

Such a thrilling and exciting read for me and I love it very much and surely recommend it to all.

This book is a magnificent read. Well, the till of this book would have reminded you of 'Alice In The Wonderland' which was fairly tale but this book is completely different from it. This book is divided into three parts which include- Alice in the Deadland, Through The Killing Glass, and Off With Their Heads. This book is a wonderful blend of many genres which include- Adventure, Thrill, Mystery and Suspense.
The first part of this mesmirising book revolves around Alice, a 15 year old girl who was completely surrounded by weapons and biters. In such conditions, she finds a book and queen, who narrates a story. The book ends with Alice bringing the peace between the fatal biters and the humans.
The second part of the book has a new beginning and Alice becomes the leader of both biters and humans. She tries her best to maintain the peace and balance between both of them. In this part, Alice gets to know some conspiracies. This part was the most intriguing and engaging part of the book and it kept me hooked till the very last page.
In the last part, the story is setup when Alice was not born. This part tells about how Dr. Protima Das, became queen of the biters. This part also tells us about parents of Alice before she was born.
Many questions must have arrived in your mind. To get answers to all your questions, you should grab this soothing book without any hesitation. This is a spectacular book and won't let you down throughout. This book is recommended to all those who are planning to read something unique...
