Aydan Kelly’s part-time job with a clandestine government organization just got a lot more complicated. Forced to lie to save her lover’s career, she tells the director she’s an experienced secret agent. He believes her… and assigns her to a dangerous mission.
When Aydan realizes innocent lives are at stake, she tries to confess her deception, but it’s already too late. Cut off from the Department and used as a pawn in the vengeful schemes of an obsessed spy, she must stop him before he destroys the people she loves.
By profession, I’m a technical writer, computer geek, and ex-interior designer. I’m good at two out of three of these things. I had the sense to quit the one I sucked at.
To deal with my mid-life crisis, I also write adventure novels featuring a middle-aged female protagonist, Aydan Kelly. And I kickbox.
This seemed more productive than indulging in more typical mid-life crisis activities like getting a divorce, buying a Harley Crossbones, and cruising across the country picking up men in sleazy bars. Especially since it’s winter most of the months of the year here.
It’s much more comfortable to sit at my computer. And hell, Harleys are expensive. Come to think of it, so are beer and gasoline.
Oh, and I still love my husband. There’s that. I’ll stick with the writing.
What a great series! Pretty much loved every bit of it. Ayden could drive me crazy with her not allowing anyone to help and her idiotic moments but overall she was a great character. Kane is still my favorite! Arnie is great but I wish she would just open up to Kane, lol! I am so not liking how the book ended and now I am going to have to wait till Winter 2013/2014, what is that about!! Oh the pain and agony of not being able to read what happens next for several months!! The books are action packed, with suspense and unique friendships, oh and lets not forget those steamy scenes, yikes!! Pick up this series and read it, you will not regret it!!

Loved this series. Kane gets accused and set up by one of his team member who hates him. Aydan rushed to try to helped him and proved his innocents. If she cannot prove it, he stands to lose his job as an agent and court martial also. You really need to read the story from beginning to understand all the dynamics of each characters involved in the story, you can't help but loved each character .
OMG, edge-of-your-seat thriller. In this venture, Aydan is tortured (again), threatened, and comes as close to losing someone close to her. Oh, and she almost dies, too. No spoiler. I mean there are more books in this series so she has to live. I can't believe how beat up her poor body is. How does she move? I love Hellhound. He is such a great guy. Trucker Dave makes an appearance, too, and at the perfect moment. The characters are so well written that they feel real.
What do I like? Humor - omg this is funny. Characters - flawed, and wounded and lovely. Action - could easily see this as a televisi-on series, keeps moving, keeps you guessing. Will keep me hooked that's for sure. Tall middle aged woman with long red hair, a cursey mouth who kicks butt, what more could you ask?
I enjoyed reading this story and I can't wait to read what is going to happen next. The reader got to see what was hiding in Aydyn's past. This book explains a lot.
I checked A Spy for a Spy out from my local library. Another excellent addition to the Spy series. I enjoyed the plot (and sub-plots), and especially loved hating the villain. A few nice twists in the story. Not so much tech this time, but interesting Fuzzy Bunny possibilities coming up if the ending is any indication.
I really love this series! Great characters, twists and turns in the story, and a flat out enjoyable read. Im telling all my friends and family about Diane Henders. Before book 7 comes out, I better decide if Im more of a Kane or Arnie supporter. I have a feeling it will come to a head soon.
Oh Aydan, how I never tire of you whit, cleverness, spunky-ness and overall goodwill. How you juggle two men (polar opposites in desires) while trying to keep it all together. I'm trying to savor each book but it's hard knowing there's another waiting to be read - on with the next challenge.
