After being dragged to the gym by her best friend to learn self-defense, Sandy is blown away by the gorgeous instructors, Jake and Zack. But they’re also Neanderthals like her brothers, so getting involved with them is off limits.

Shifter cousins, Jake and Zack are instantly captivated and aroused by the feisty redhead, which fate has brought into their lives. Rather than confess their love in the more traditional way, they break into her house, undress and show her she’s their mate in a much more physical way.

Can Sandy resist the two men? Or will they convince her their bond and passion will still give her the freedom she craves?

4 FULLY FURRY STARS

This is a sweet hot story about two shifter bear cousins who find their mate at a gym at the same time. They are never shared a partner before but they are shifter so their instinct guided them to her.

Now the heroine Sassy Sandy aka Red as the cousins call her, is a wild one. She maybe a virgin but she is not stupid! She knows what she want and is not afraid to tell her mates. She fights at first because she is confused and doesn't understand the whole shifter deal.

This story worked for me as it was filled with funny moments and tender ones. I loved how alpha the heroes are without being assholes. They don't hurt her or even try to change her they just accept her. And she does the same.
The love each other unconditionally and it was awesome to see them get their HEA with babies!

description

Safety: perfectly safe without exceptions and no OW/OM drama (like two second hero thought she was into dating some other guy).

My Rating: ❤❤
ACCEPTABLE: The characteristics of a 2 heart story include: a passable story but there was some element(s) that kept it from being a good story; and, it won’t make it to my 'read again' pile. I would not easily recommend it to a friend but would not rule out the possibility.
My Thoughts:
I am loath to give an unpleasant review but I must say that Ours was a C-story shifter read. There were a few editing issues -- misspellings and missed words. I was actually surprised that the book was not self published with the number of errors it contained.

I felt as if the story took on a trite flare with the cousins being named Zack and Jake Bear. My first thought when reading was, "Obvious, much?"

I did not like that the men broke into Sandy's house and "took" her while she was sleeping. There was no courting; no allowing her to get to know them first; and nothing reminiscent of them showing any care for her at the onset. They were only concerned with their pleasure and imposed their wants and desires on Sandy. Sure, she woke up and was an active participant later on but it felt too sexual assault-erish at the start.

The story's pacing was fast and furious. Most of it felt rushed and shallow including the serial killer angle which could/should have kicked the story up a notch and added an interesting depth. Sadly, that story element fell flat as well because it felt contrived.

Overall this story was a fairly mundane read and not my cuppa but not completely unenjoyable.

In 5 words: Unremarkable and rushed shifter romance.

After reading, "Theirs," I immediately purchased "Ours." I had so much fun reading Sandy, Zack and Jakes story, that I read it twice before writing this review.

Sandy is sick of the dominant men in her life, her dad and brothers treat her like she needs to be protected at all times and are constantly at her house, so she is very unhappy when not one but two dominant men decide to pursue her.
After one of her good friends is attacked, Susie (from "Theirs) begs her closest friends to take a self-defense class at her husbands gym. Sandy really doesn't want to do it, after all, she's pretty good at taking care of herself. Zack and Jake are teaching the class full of women, but can't keep their eyes off the hot tempered red head who can't seem to leave fast enough.

I really enjoyed this hot little read. Yes, the attraction is instant and they get together fast, but I had fun watching them work through their issues with her family and Zack's. Boy did she have a temper. LOL If you are looking for a hot and fun read, then I recommend reading Hazel Gower's Bear series.

Ours is a cute story with a feisty heroine and two flaming hot bear-shifters.

Jake is a cop and Zack is a tattoo artist.
Honestly?
Talk about a dream menage. You get the bad boy and the nice guy in one relationship!

The majority of the story is about Sandy finding a way to cope with being a headstrong woman thrown into a relationship with two strong men. There's also a criminal-case subplot thrown in to keep things lively.

Sandy did take the whole shifter/menage thing with a grain of salt, but it's a shorter novel so too many issues would stall the progress of the story, so I didn't feel like things were too rushed.

Ours is a highly enjoyable short read for when you're in the mood for something sexy and sweet with some humor thrown in.

I just couldn't get into this one. It was way too rushed, I couldn't get a grasp on any of the characters and they all seemed to have there own little problem side story. The sex was rushed too. Usually if the story is rushed in these erotic books the sex is drawn out, but sadly no.

3-3.5 stars

This was a good story. I liked the characters and the story was enjoyable. This is the first book I've read by the author. Based on this book I may try more of her work in the future.

Sandy is a smart, sweet and spirited woman. She grew up raised by her Father and 3 brothers and has had enough of Alpha men after having to deal with her family for her whole life. When goes to a self defense class with friend, she meets 2 Alpha males that are gorgeous and (she feels) are way out of her league. She doesn't expect to see them again...especially not in her house in the dead of night when they weren't invited...

Zack and Jake are bear shifters and cousins. Jake works as a police detective. Zack owns a tattoo shop and is a tattoo artist as well (unfortunately this and other stuff makes him the black sheep of the family). When they meet a sexy little red-head at the gym they know she's their mate and they're determined to let nothing stand in their way of getting her to see just how perfect she is for them.

TBH, I was a little unsure of the beginning... Zack and Jake decide to break in to her house and basically start seducing her (or maybe molesting would be more accurate) while she's still asleep. Fortunately, she does wake up right before the actual consummation takes place. At first she thinks it's a dream and doesn't want it to stop. Once she wakes up fully, she knows she wants them so she decides to live the dream for the night by being with them, even if she's sure it can't last. The guys realize she doesn't believe it'll last but decide to claim her and then work on convincing her they're here to stay. The next day she tries to push them away, thinking it's over and the fantasy is passed, but Zack and Jake aren't about to be pushed aside and proceed to push their way in to her life...nicely.

There are some issues for them all to get past. Sandy's family tends to be overbearing and have to be dealt with. Also, she ends up having issues in her job because of her new relationship. Zack and Jake's family aren't exactly perfect either and Zack's mother ends up causing some upset. The trio struggle through together though and do pretty good at growing their relationship together, although there are frequent bouts of Sandy's temper causing her to threaten bodily harm to Zack and Jake but that tends to be more humorous than anything else. One of Jake's cases ends up coming home in a bad way and brings some danger to the trio and I liked that Sandy ended up saving the day. The story gets a nice conclusion and Sandy, Zack and Jake get a good HEA.

I will note that while I liked the characters and the story, there were some issues with the story that brought the story down for me but they weren't horrible issues. For example, there are many characters that are brought in to the story with no explanation of who they are. Maybe I would know if I'd read book #1 from the series but it's messed up that there wasn't at least so brief info on who everyone was. I mean even if I had read book #1, who's to say I'd have everyone memorized. They really should have put in at least brief descriptions. Also, there were times when the story seems to skip around a bit and take you to a place in the story without explaining how it came about...I.E. At the end of the story, it comes out that a female shifter is the mate to 2 of Sandy's brothers but nothing is mentioned about it until suddenly there's a discussion about it like it's something that's been known about since halfway through the story. It's confusing and made me feel like I missed a few pages or something. Things like this happened a few different times in the story and it wasn't enough to ruin the story but it was enough to be noticeable.

Overall I found this story to be enjoyable. I really liked the characters (both the main and secondary characters) and felt they made the story worth reading. It's the characters more than anything else that might have me deciding to try more of this series. We'll see. :)

This book strays from Brian, Blake, and Suzie and focuses on Sandy who discovers she too is the mate of two bear shifters.. Jake and Zack. Sandy is every bit the spitfire who really doesn't want to be in the situation more so because of her family then any valid reason. And while this story strayed from the whole Bear family men mating human females the matron has an issue with (hopefully a future installment will return to that) it does have another serious undertoned element in it.
This story is a bit more  action laced then Thiers was.. And I still want to know what Adele is up to I trust that woman about as far as I can throw her. I did spot a couple of small errors, nothing that would turn the reader off, but as I've said before, those occure when a writer is in the heat of the moment so to speak.
I do hope the next installment goes a bit deeper into the whole Adele thing. and I wonder if it will be about Gwen or Sammy, only time will tell how Hazel will manage to torture her fans next.
I give this book 5 of 5 paws

Bear shifters, cousins to be exact, find their mate and she wants nothing to do with them. Her bestie is mated and preggers (also to two bears), and Sandy's biggest question is who's the daddy? Does she want to end up in the same position, umm HELL NO! Besides, she already has three alpha-holes in her life in the form of her overprotective father and overbearing brothers. A shifter killer on the loose adds a dash of suspense, a large dose of Neanderthal men and their bedroom antics with their mate add heat and the fact that Sandy takes no gruff from her men (or from anyone ABOUT her men) while slowly succumbing to their seductive whispers of happily ever after add love.

Ours was an alright read...barring the whole sexual assault in the first few pages. Seriously, you break into the home of the women who plainly stated she wants nothing to do with you and proceed to take her virginity with a "Sorry, baby were you a virgin, hope I didn't hurt you", and I'm pretty sure that constitutes sexual assault. I just pretended that whole situation didn't happen. With blinders firmly in place this book is...an alright read. There is more than one situation that was eerily familiar to the previous book Theirs. The sex was hot, but again, it was so close to that of the previous book that I kept double checking the cover, thinking that maybe my Nook randomly switched books on me. My advice is not to read Theirs and Ours back to back then this book would jump to 3.5 stars.

Ours is the second book in The Bears series by Hazel Gower. While this book is part of a series it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. I chose this book because the concept of bear shifters intrigued me. I have read about other shifters, like wolves, big cats, even birds but not bears and I had to read it.

Sandy is brought to the gym to learn self-defense by friends. While she is there she meets Jack and Zack. She is amazed about how gorgeous they are. She is very strong and does not want overprotecting, or overbearing men in her life. She is determined to keep them in line along with her father and brothers. I fund it funny that she had such an outgoing personality.

Jake and Zack are cousins who share the same mate, Sandy. They are hot and sexy men. They are very overprotective of their mate. Jake and Zack act without thinking at times. They don’t seem to do things conventually.

The chemistry between them is off the charts. The sex scenes were hot and spicy. The sex scenes were wonderfully written even when other parts of the book lack it was never in the sex scenes.

The only thing that would have made this story better was if the author flushed the story out more. I think this story could have easily been twice the length it was maybe longer. I would have liked the ending flushed out more than it was. It seemed too quick. Overall, this author shows a lot of promise. I will be picking up the first book in the series shortly.

Sandy is tired of overbearing, Dominating males. She gets enough of that from her father and brothers. So what happens when she goes to a self defense class with her friends at the gym? She meets two bear shifters who claim she is their true mate.

Jake and Zack are cousins and bear shifters. They both recognize their true mate in Sandy. Once they get to know her. Jake falls for her because she is interested in how he is doing at the end of the day. Zack falls for her because she takes an interest in his business. Even though things seem to be going good with them, Sandy still has to deal with mama bear. She is not happy that another one of her sons is mated to a human and a bigger girl at that.

Will Sandy be able to deal with men that are like her father and brothers? And will she and her men be able to deal with a pissed off mama bear?

I absolutely LOVE this series! I loved this book. I love how devoted these men are to Sandy once they realize who she is to them. I love how quickly both Jake and Zack are to stand up and defend her. I think that it is great that she was willing to stand up to and tell off Zack's mom. I highly recommend reading this whole series. If you are a fan of shifters and you like a steamy book I think you will enjoy this book. This book can be read as a stand alone.

Ok, looking at the rating you might think I wasn't in love with the book. Not true I really enjoyed the characters, plotline and writing. I was just put off by the first steamy scene. It was sketchy consent and not my scene at all. I got past it and enjoyed the rest of the book but that definitely colored my perception of the relationship.

Sandy really is a feisty little redhead, don't let her hear you say it, but it's true! I loved her and all her attitude!!! She is super spicy and really speaks here mind. Oh, watch the temper, sparks will fly!

The guys were sexy alpha bears, my fave sort!!! I love me some yummy grouchy grizzlies!!! They were totally my kind of shifters most of the time.

I am also a touch annoyed at the family dynamic around them. There is kind of a prejudice among the shifters and it is ugh. I thought it was resolved in the last book but pops up again here.

The steam in the rest of the book was hot and heavy!!! I girl might need a cold shower!!!

I am really eager to know if there are more books coming? There were some very interesting threads that have been left hanging.

Waiting for my favorite authors' new books to be published drives me crazy so I try to distract myself by looking for new authors. One of those random PNR author searches led me to discovering Hazel Gower. It can be a gamble trying an unknown (to me) author, but I'm game to try new things...

The first of her "Bears" series (Theirs) was an inexpensive and quick read featuring mate-sharing shifters (no M/M action), BBW, steamy passion, and humor. And it wasn't a flash-in-the-pan because Ours was continues a winning streak - jackpot!

The details of the story don't need to be listed in my review; lots of great reviews expound their virtues. I just wanted to add my chips to the ante about the author. I bet we all can help convince other readers to take a chance on Hazel Gower's great books!

Sandy is frustrated with her overprotective family and wanting her own space and really doesn't want to date overbearing men like her family. Jake and Zach don't like there mate running from them and takes matters into there hands not realising it might backfire on them then the men have to set out to show there mate there not completely like her family. There is alot of family drama between all there different families. Sandy is very protective, caring, accepting and speaks hers mind. There is a serial killer on the loose, the men trying to win there mate, Sandy giving them a piece of her mind letting her temper flare, family drama, Sandy accepting them in things there own family looks down on while they try to show her how much they care and fight for her. A good read and can't wait for the next one

I read the first in the Bears series by Hazel Gower, and I loved it. So when I saw the second was out I bought it without even reading the blurb. I wasn’t disappointed. Yes, the characters fall into bed quickly but I suspend any disbelief because it’s a shifter story and there is the whole insta-mate thing going on. Ms. Gower handles that very well.

Zach and Jake like each other and quickly accept that they share a mate and work together to get Sandy on board. I loved the way they worked together to put Sandy at ease. This is a fast paced story but I was left very satisfied at the end. I could feel the love between the couples by the end and definitely saw a happily ever after in their future.

I recommend this story for the hot bear shifters who are Alpha males and the fiery redhead who gives them hell yet loves them so sweetly.

Sandy is used to overbearing bossy men, after all her brothers and father have always had her back even when she didn't want it. When she agrees to go to a self defense with her friends, begrudgingly she doesn't expect to catch the attention of Jake and Zack. Jack and Zack know she is their mate and the feisty woman who they have a way of getting her hackles up is perfect. Not saying they are the smartest bears in the world, but they decide to seduce her by breaking into her home and showing her what it is like to be their mate. Perfect plan right? They never planned for a stubborn mate who has no problem putting them in their place.

I liked this one the best in the series. It was funny and Sandy is a hoot, whats better the men love her tenacity. Very fun read.

I am enjoying this series and I look forward to the next two books.
At first the pace of this story felt too fast but I felt it settled to a nicer pace about half way through.
The "Bears" are great...wouldn't mind one or two of my own :P

This one was even better. The romance was subtle and charming. Yeah, okay, the boys are a little overbearing, but that's just the alpha male way, I guess. I hope to soon read more books in this series.

My favourite of the 3 so far, although I wasn't a fan of the break into her house and accidentally take her vaginity/sexual assault scene. Lets forget that bit real quick yes?

Really like these characters and their interactions, although a bit too alike to "Theirs". Very fun overall.

DNF @ 27%

I couldn't do it. As hard as I found the first one to read I had to give this one a try.....sometimes a second is better than the first.

But nope, this is still the same jumbled writing mess, the same asshole men, the same heroine who is all 'feisty' but really a doormat and same unrealistic storyline...even for a paranormal/shifter it was too unrealistic.

As much as it pains me to send books there - this goes to the DNF pile.

***I'm sure this will be a spoiler***

The only thing keeping this from one star is the hot sex. I really enjoyed those parts of the book. The author knows how to make something sexy and steamy. Elsewhere? It fell flat. Too bad that same intensity couldn't be seen throughout the book. You have a serial killer story line going on that is mentioned a few times, then at the end, bam, all wrapped up in one page. Why bother mentioning it at all? You have two men who sneak into Sandy's house, take her, and she doesn't wake up? All of a sudden it's love? The part where Sandy says Jake is holding back and she knows it, where does it show before that conversation? As if that was thrown in for filler or to attempt at giving Jake depth as a character, it seemed forced. *sigh* I had high hopes for this book. Shifters, threesomes, and more. But, the characters lacked any depth. They seemed shallow and one dimensional. It was hard to like or relate to them. The only person you really get to know and can somewhat like, is Zack. You see where he's come from, how he's developed as a person, and learn about his family.

There's editing errors, which the Publisher should have noticed. Quite a few actually. Other characters are mentioned, but if you haven't read the other books, like me, then you feel a little lost. As they are only mentioned briefly and you're left wondering what they mean. I really think this book needs a lot of work. As it stands, there's no way I would ever pay $3.99 for another one in this series.
