Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.
He enjoys the baseball manga Kyojin No Hoshii (Star of the Giants); the video games Mario Kart and Bomberman; and likes Prince and other African-American singers, as well as jazz, rock, and rap.
- first of all, why did none of the info we got in the beginning factor in the ending? like giorno's lineage is important, and they're giving me jon snow vibes, all that setup for nothing. - the epilogue was interesting? I mean, I like how it's kinda a bookendm it relates a bit to the beginning, but I'm not sure I liked the ending of this part and I still don't see how it will relate to the next part. - honestly, at this point, I just miss the old gangs.
Um… okay? An extremely underwhelming ending with so much wasted potential and so many unanswered questions. Like are we just going to never mention again the fact that Giorno is DIO’S SON?? Hello??? Care to further explain? Also, where the hell did Koichi and Jotaro go after the first book? And what in the world was that epilogue for? I’m about to start Part 6 now, hopefully we get some answers - or we just never see any of these characters again and that’s that I guess…

Art is a total mess. Almost completely incomprehensible, you have to wait for the dialogue to figure out what’s actually happening. Ugly, weird poses, sameface. It’s terrible.
Plotting is an utter mess. Deus ex machinas abound. Nothing ties together neatly.
Characters are cardboard.
SPOILER
The final duel is forgettable and nonsensical. Giorno’s stand gets the arrow and locks diavolo in a time loop somehow. Also Giorno is Dio’s son but this revelation doesn’t matter in any way. Does Giorno clean up the drug trade? Araki never says.
Compare this fight to the final battle in parts 1, 2, & 3. Each of these had a grand setting — a castle, an arena, a palace — and a prefatory sequence of escalating confrontations with henchman. Part 4 ends with a random street encounter with Kira but works given the theme of evil lurking beneath the surface of suburban life. That theme is not developed in part 5, so the same scenario feels like a letdown and a missed opportunity to highlight a grand palazzo of evil.
Realizing that part 5 has fizzled out, Araki tacks on a short flashback that foretells the deaths of bucciarati, Abacchio, and narancia (plus briefly features Fugo, who was wise to ditch the whole affair), highlighting the unspoken bonds of friendship and loyalty uniting the mafiosi, but it’s too little too late. A pale reflection of the true friendship that bound the stardust crusaders.
First of all, I love how all Jojo villains receive their ironic punishment at the end and Diavolo's is especially diabolical. I'm rewatching the anime simultaneously with my reading and it sure enhances the experience.
Each Jojo is unique but Golden Wind showed us gangsters' point of view where characters shoot to kill, have psychopathic tendencies and don't see crime as something bad. Naturally, MCs are more honorable than your random antagonist, but you're always on your toes watching how they'll handle the situation.
MEUS DEUSES!
I hate to say it but its a disappointing end- there was so much to develop and most of this part feels sort of collage together carelessly- Giorno being a son of Dio doesn't even seem relevant? Requiem stands aren't really seen again in the same way its shown in part 5- even the addition of Polnareff seems kinda random-

I really enjoyed part 5, Definetly more then part 3. I liked the characters and setting, and the general vibe of the mystery of the boss kept me engaged past where part 3 lost me. I will say the ending isn’t amazing, it’s fine, but it doesn’t handle character deaths with much respect and the conclusion feels rushed into the last chapter. All around a pretty great part, if flawed.
