Review for complete series

Daddy Long Legs is a retelling of sorts rather than an adaptation of the novel with the same name by Jean Webster. I enjoyed the novel it was based on a lot more than I did this manhwa but that is not to say that this is not a good read. Unlike the original it is based on, this is more of a bittersweet story but I'm inclined to say that two volumes was too short to truly capture what it was trying to deliver.

I found the plot to be a little confusing - having read the original novel definitely helped but there were multiple stories told at once and out of order which wasn't always easy to follow. I also found some of the elements that were meant to be romantic a little bit unsettling. One of the characters is deeply in love with someone to the extent that their whole life revolves around it. This character follows their loved one into the same university, later the same work place as well as draws pictures and writes notes about the person they love. While there is nothing wrong with that in itself, they've never even spoken. It is not uncommon in romance comics that characters follow their crushes into a certain school, but I felt that this one really smacked of stalking.

I somehow also struggled to truly get invested into the characters and plot. I can't say if that was just me or whether it was all just a little hollow, but for most of the story I was mildly bored. It didn't help that the art wasn't to my liking either. There wasn't anything wrong with it whatsoever, but I've generally come to notice that I don't seem to connect with a lot of manhwa art styles. But that's definitely a me-thing and nothing I can objectively criticise.

This was still a pretty good little series, though, if only for the fact that the ending was very unexpected. It was really a bit of a punch in the gut and I didn't see it coming at all. I don't think I liked it well enough to warrant a future reread but it is definitely worthwhile picking up just to see how it ends.

The last volume of "Daddy Long Legs" it's a little bit better than the first one.

Your mileage may vary, but for me, it still felt flat. The characters lack motivation and the plot it's just there. Nevertheless, going full angst for the end was a nice change of pace.

My issue this time was that the love interest was a borderline stalker and it was romanticized.

Overall, once again it felt too convoluted for the number of pages. The "twist" was interesting and I'm glad the author didn't take the most obvious route. The angst at the end didn't pack a punch for me since I didn't particularly care for the characters but I can see how it might break other people's hearts.

A MASTERPIECE!! I cried a river of tears while reading it :( It was so heatbreaking & sad! Never would I thoughts that the lady in the portrait would be her!! The plot twist oh my god. After all this time it was always her. After reading this manhwa I realized in life, sometimes we don't have to look straight forward. Maybe we need to pause for a moment in our journey and look at our surroundings (right & left). There may be something or someone that we do not notice while we are busying moving forward & later in our life, we regretted it. One of the best manhwa I've ever read <3.

The manga is good, I expecially liked the notes that explained various figure of speech since the story is set in South Korea.

akankah young mi menemukan cinta dan daddy long legs na?

Sosok Daddy Long Legs benar-benar di luar dugaan.

Okay, this book always success making me cry. It has good ending, makes us remember it, coz nowadays there's so many manga/manhwa that i don't remember the title even the story although i've read them. But this book is different.

One thing i can get from this book is that in life sometimes we need to look back and not just straight forward, coz there may be someone/something that we've ignored and makes us regret it later.

endingnya mengharukan,, tapi TOP bgt menurutku :))

A lovely but depressing version of Jean Webster's 1912 novel Daddy Long Legs, this manhwa had a beautiful story with an interesting twist...and a sad ending. I'll stick with Webster, thanks.
