In volumes 3-4, main plot takes a back seat while these volumes cover more subplot and background on witchhunters, their HQ, and witches. The only problem I have with the book is the damn main "villian" of this subplot. I'm not a big fan, the character is.. annoying to say the least. Also, Halloween's true identity is revealed, slightly disappointed but not that unexpected.

I'm not sure how I'll ever finish this series...

The plot is very shallow and, frankly, all over the place. It's as if the author is relying on the use of fan service to hide that fact.

The main character, Tasha, has a cocky attitude and overestimates his abilities. *sigh.*
No, every character is like a paper cut-out. There's the typical womanizer, the tomboy girl, that one guy dead set on revenge, a loli, a crap ton of characters who think they are holier-than-thou, the typical jerk who hates the main character, the mysterious girl, the big brotherly type and last, but not least, the ditz.

I wouldn't be so critical if they were more....less originality, please! Actually add depth to the characters....not this shallowness.

At this point, I have more questions than answers and that's not necessarily a good thing.

What't the deal with Tasha's sister? What reason do the witches have for attacking everybody? Who the heck was the voice that was communicating with Monica in the 2nd book? Who is this Ryuhwan and why was he...oh well...that's a spoiler so I'll leave that question hanging. Who are these "Four Legendary Witches" that are supposedly powerful? What is their motive and or purpose? Who is this Hyacinth girl and what is her purpose? Adding onto that, why did she randomly pop in at some point without a proper introduction? Why are there so many pointless fights that lead to nowhere and serve no real purpose? Why are 90% of the characters dressed in bikini's? Does every WH member have a supporter? Why can't males be witches? If there are S-rank fighters, why aren't they fighting too while every other member of the WH is getting murdered? Why are witches hats so important? What does Tasha look exactly like Allen Walker from D Gray-Man? Why do I have so many questions that are, seemingly, never going to get answered, or at the very least, anytime soon?

I feel is if this manga is trying to be a mix of D Gray-man and Soul Eater, however, Witch Buster is failing horribly even at that.

This collection contains volumes 3 and 4 of Witch Hunter (as originally published). This is a direct continuation of the previous collection, and numerous key plot points were stablished there. It's best to start reading at the beginning.

Tasha and "friends" are headed back to a district center after facing the mind control witch. Their recent battles, as well as East's and North's plans and schemes, might have to take a back seat to a more pressing problem: witch hunters are being murdered, and the weapon is a familiar looking mana gun...

I'm really liking this series. There are a lot of layered sub-plots developing, and various factions' views, prejudices, and goals are carefully integrated with the main story. This also gives us a growing cast with several interesting new characters added and a fair number of intriguing twists and revelations. The pacing is excellent, as information is rationed out appropriately without slowing the story down or diminishing the level of action (which is copious, well done and a lot of fun).

The art is nicely stylized and easy to follow. The character designs are rather intricate and striking, which helps when trying to keep track of a large cast.

Overall this is a nice follow up to the opening volumes that has me even more eager to continue along with Tasha's quest.

It'd be nice if the hero were to actually win the battles at least once on his own...you know, to establish his character aside from being overly sarcastic in a young child sort of way rather than the more interesting witty adult kind...
