De små, små barnen Peter och Petra drömmer om att gå i skolan. En dag knackar de på dörren till nybörjarklassen i Gustaf Vasa skola. De får varsin liten, liten bänk och lär sig räkna och läsa. Barnen i klassen tröttnar aldrig på dem, och de blir bästisar med pojken Gunnar som tar hand om dem.

Peter och Petra bor under en stor gran ute i parken nära skolan. När Gunnar hälsar på dem en kväll visar de honom hur duktiga de är på att åka skridskor. Alltihop är som en saga som blir verklighet.

Astrid Anna Emilia Lindgren, née Ericsson, (1907 - 2002) was a Swedish children's book author and screenwriter, whose many titles were translated into 85 languages and published in more than 100 countries. She has sold roughly 165 million copies worldwide. Today, she is most remembered for writing the Pippi Longstocking books, as well as the Karlsson-on-the-Roof book series.

Una raccolta di racconti opera di uno dei miei miti infantili, Astrid Lindgren.
Da bambina ho adorato Pippi Calzelunghe e quando ho saputo che Iperborea aveva pubblicato una raccolta di sette brevi storie della stessa autrice non ho resistito e ho chiesto che se me ne potevano inviare una copia.

Racconti brevi, perfetti per i bambini dai 7 anni in su, con protagonisti degni della mia amata Pippi. I bimbi della Lindgren sono sempre autonomi, coraggiosi, dei piccoli adulti in miniatura (ma senza le paranoie e i limiti degli adulti), capaci di guardare la realtà con gli occhi dell'infanzia, pronti a cogliere la magia che ci circonda.

Perché solo tre stelle? Perché per la me adulta sono troppo brevi!!!

Potrebbe essere un bellissimo regalo di Natale per un bambino che sta imparando a leggere: la lingua è semplice, l'edizione è molto curata e con bellissime illustrazioni e le storie sono lineari e perfettamente comprensibili anche per i giovani lettori.

This is one of those stories that I always loved as a child (at least the TV version, haven't listened to the book until now) but never quite remember the story too. I only have vague memories of it. Vague memories and lots of love.

This is so inspirational. It's one of her shortest stories but also one of the most heartfelt. There are no villains, no mystery, no twist at the end. There's just two small, small children attending school for their first time and getting a new friend.

The ice skating scene will always make me smile. It's one of those things where I immediately feel "wow, I want to draw this!". I adore that feeling ❤

L'ambientazione nordica è bellissima, nevosa e ghiacciata, ideale per questo periodo dell'anno. Soprattutto perché si parla anche del Natale.
Inoltre, le illustrazioni sono assolutamente perfette e rendono ancora più bella l'atmosfera dei racconti contenuti nel libro.

I sette racconti contenuti nel libro sono:
1. Mirabell
2. Sorellona e fratellino
3. Buonanotte, signor vagabondo!
4. Peter e Petra
5. Una notte di maggio
6. Il piccolo Pelle se ne va di casa
7. Nel bosco non ci sono briganti

Lo stile della Lindgren è perfetto per i libri dedicati ai bambini: è semplice e intriso di tanta dolcezza e magia. Uno stile che fa tornare noi adulti alla delicatezza dell'infanzia.

Le mie storie preferite sono quella su Peter e Petra, due fratellini appartenenti al "piccolo popolo" che un giorno si presentano nella classe di Gunnar perché vogliono imparare anche loro a leggere, e quella su Sven, Anna e Inga-Stina che, ovviamente, parla del Natale.
