Love and magic lie at the heart of this storm…as well as a whole lot of danger. Brotherhood of Blood, Book 7 When Major Jesse Moore, brother to the Wyoming Pack Alpha, is sent to Iowa to check on his sister-in-law’s cousin, knocking politely isn’t an option. Things get explicit when a werewolf wants his mate and he doesn’t care where they are. Outdoors, indoors, wherever and whenever—never get between a wolf and his woman.

I have been looking forward to reading Jesse's story for some time now and it finally managed to work it's way to the top of the never ending pile! I have pretty much enjoyed all the series so far and the previous book (Wolf Hills) was pretty good so had fairly high expectations. I am really pleased to say that Ms D'Arc didn't disappoint and this is an very good addition to the series.
I thought the character of Jesse was extremely well written and the way Ms D'Arc got around the situation of having the two Alphas within the Pack was very clever. I felt the connection between Jesse and Maria right from the start and the sexual tension between them was bouncing off the page. The story is fast paced and as well as loads of action there is also plenty of Ms D'Arc's trade mark sex scenes and overall was a very satisfying read which kept me engaged from start to finish.
Well done Ms D'Arc!.....I am looking forward to hearing when we are going to get the next addition.
NOTE - This book is NOT a stand-alone book, the series follows a specific storyline so all must be read in order
I waited a long while for this book to be released, and believe me it was so worth it. If you are following Bianca’s Brotherhood of Blood series then you already know the variety of characters she has in these stories. All with their own dark sides or troubles and all coming together to fight and put an end to the Venifucus. An evil faction hell bent on bringing back Elspeth, Destroyer of Worlds. Also referred to Destroyer of Innocence.
Major Jesse Moore the Hot Hot Hot sexy Alpha for a group of ex-military, ex-Spec Ops soldiers/ shifters banding together and hiring out to do special jobs for other were, Tribes, Packs and clans? They are the best of the best. Jesse in his time has been through a lot and seen a lot. He thought he would never find his mate.
Maria Garibaldi, a veterinarian who set up a Sanctuary in Iowa to care for large exotic animals. She liked the forest and being around nature that was her element. It also has something to do with her magic. Magic which she refuses to believe in. Her Nona and Aunt are witches but never were trained in to utilize their powers to the fullest.
Jesse and a few of his men were tracking two men believed to be part of the Venifucus, got a call for his brother to go check up on his wife’s cousin Maria. Seemed simple enough until they got to her home. They were going to go in stealth until they heard loud crashes and things breaking from inside the house. Change of plans and Jesse broke down her door only to be totally surprised at what he saw. Seems Maria is one tough female for being human. One of the men was knocked out cold while she held down the second with his arms painfully pulled behind his back. Jesse tranquilized the man Maria had down and when he succumbed to the tranquilizer he held up his wrist and ask Maria if she saw anything. Which she did, the Venifucus’s tattoo. He quickly ordered his men to restrain the two and get them back to his brother for questioning.
It’s in this cozy little house that their story begins. Jesse reveals to Maria he is a wolf shifter and tries to explain what he thinks is going on. He tells her about Sally who is believed to be her cousin, but Maria is not buying any of it. Since Maria wouldn’t leave with Jesse and his men, Jesse decided to stay under the pretense he wanted to repair the damage to her door and re-secure her house. In the morning Maria heads out to feed the animals and check on them. She advises Jesse to stay out of the big cats building since they seemed to have sensed him and were getting agitated. When they headed over to the grizzly’s building Jesse pushed in front of Maria and told her to stand back. She explained to him how she came about getting the grizzly and the condition he was in. She also mentioned was very very aggressive, unbeknownst to Maria she was brought a grizzly cub that was a shifter. It wasn’t until Jesse went on her rounds to feed the animals that it was realized she had caged a shifter. Maria was devastated when she realized what she’d done. Jesse talks with the cub and gets him to change to human form and is taken back to Maria’s house where she can check his wounds, get him cleaned up and fed and let him rest.
As the Story continues Jesse’s wolf knows Maria is his mate and wants to claim her right then and there. The story between the two of them is full of discovery and learning and yes very steamy love making. We find out the little grizzly cub Zach was attacked and left for dead when his parents were kidnapped for their magic and power. We learn Zach’s uncle is Rocky and there may be a connection of Rocky’s bloodline to Maria. You see Rocky’s last name is also Garibaldi. We had our recluse Vamp Marco make an appearance and he actually was helping Jesse, Maria and Zach get into the building where they were holding Zach’s parents. I think I’ve given enough away and I so look forward to the next installment. I’m curious to see if we’ll see Nona’s family reunion and will they have enough magic together to heal Leonora or will the Venifucus attack again. I give Wolf Quest 5* and I want the title to the next book please.
Sometimes, I try to think of something that would bring a story down from 5 stars to something less. Most of the time, I find what's obvious, since I don't give out loads of 5 star ratings. To me that's a darned-near-perfect book. And since I buy all of my books, I really hate those 1 and 2 star books!
This one is darned-near-perfect. Not a load of repetitive, romantic angst like you get with less polished authors. Lots of good action without bringing in the individual personality of a slimy villain, although the slimy villains are there. Hunky hero. Admirable heroine who isn't strident and foul-mouthed. Good supporting cast. New characters brought in to possibly get their own books (I vote for Marco, the vamp).
I was lucky enough to have received an ARC for this book through Fresh Fiction and loved it.
As always author Bianca D'Arc writes a book we want to not just read, we want to savor then when we are done, we want to do it all over again.
Jesse and Maria are perfect for each other especially with her not knowing anything about her heredity. I like how he has the patience and the strength to stand back and let her learn who she really is. A few people
I know some readers complain about alpha men or shifters in books but Ms. D'Arc has the perfect alpha in all her books. He's strong, sometimes overwhelming and demanding but always seeking the protection and safety to those he love. I am already waiting impatiently for the next book.
Wolf Quest was another sexy, action-packed installment in the Brotherhood of Blood. Jesse was a strong and swoon-worthy alpha male and Maria was an excellent balance to him with her core of steal and practical magic. I love how the worked together. Jesse didn't coddle Maria but valued her for the magic she possessed and allowed her to use it. I dare say that SHE was the one who saved the day ... my kind of girl :). I appreciate how D'Arc has neatly woven together a complex series full of unexpected twists and turns. This is definitely one of my favorite series.
I love that Maria could help heal this strong honorable soldier's battle scarred soul. Jesse does so much for his pack and humans alike without any thought to himself, while she does the same for the wild animals in her care. She doesn't see herself as anything special even though she follows him headlong into danger to save complete strangers. Luckily she'll have Jesse to show her how amazing she is every day for the rest of their lives. I hope some of his pack of soldiers and Marco the vampire can find their own mates with Leonora's other descendants. well done Ms. D'Arc, please keep it up.
This story features Jesse Moore, a figure that has been mentioned heavily in other books that have battles with the mysterious and deadly venifucus. It was nice to finally meet him and also continue where wolf hills left off. Another great read!!! I can't wait to see which realative of sally we meet next.
I loved this book. I always buy books by this author. This was a fast paced hot read. That does not disappoint with the hot adventure action or the red hot action between an alpha werewolf and his mate.
loved learning more about jesse and seeing jason and sally back. also introduced to a new vamp who I really want to learn more about lol cant wait for the next book to the brotherhood/lords series fantastic as always
Started from the beginning with the first book in the brotherhood of blood and read all the way to Wolf Quest and the stories have gotten better with each book. Next step is reading all of the Tales of Were and Redstone Clan books.
This one must have been written more recently. I mostly liked the story, as it connects well with the first book of her new series.
Unfortunately, in a couple of the sex scenes the protagonists seemed to become too stupid to live. In the first instance they are preparing to go on the run from assassins, and even though he’s thinking “we don’t have time for this”, he still stops to have sex with her, twice!!! And she does nothing to object. In another much later scene she gets him off while he is driving!!!! Accident waiting to happen, seriously. I had to skip past both scenes as they made me swear out loud at the sheer stupidity. Sorry but there’s nothing sexy or a turn on about stupidity like that. That lowered my rating.
If you enjoy adventure, romance, magic, shifters, and others then this is a book worth reading. The author does an excellent job integrating all of these things into a happy ending for this set of hero's and setting the stage for the next battle to come.
Instant attraction and gotta have sex, he arrives as she's subduing two attackers in her home. Discovers she has an injured were grizzly teen, they end up going to rescue the teen's parents and cement their relationship.
(Explícito). Últimamente, bueno en estos últimos libros, ya casi no se narra sobre la lucha contra los Venificus*. Se vuelve tedioso tanta narración sobre los emparejamientos y nada sobre la guerra.
Wolf Quest is book seven in the Brotherhood of Blood series. It is an insta-love romance. I enjoyed Wolf Hills and was looking foreword to the next book in this series. Ms. D’Arc brought us more into the quest to protect the Light and help save the world. Wolf Quest is fast paced, lots of action and sex.
Jesse is clearly an Alpha. I found it interesting how Ms. D’Arc got around having two Alphas within a Pack. He is very very HOT with a dark troubled past. Maria is an interesting character and I liked that she was open to the magical world and not afraid of letting go and learning. I felt the connect right front the start between Jesse and Maria and the sexual tension was bouncing off the pages. It was an engaging read.
Wolf Quest is not a stand-alone book. It’s a quick insta-love, with lots of action and some great sex.
Older brother to the alpha of a wolf-pack, the pack could have been his but he chose to step aside. This soldier has no idea what he is setting himself up for when he goes to rescue the long lost cousin of his brothers new wife. While this is the seventh book in the series it is the first that I have read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even without a frame of reference there was enough background information given throughout the book so I did not feel lost as it progressed. The characters were dynamic and likeable, the sex was...disturbing really. I skipped over much of it, but what there was seemed to be rushed and frankly too soon in a relationship. The only premise that I can think of is that the author had set up a 'world' where 'matings' needed to be concluded as soon as possible. That or we were to believe that their attraction was so great that they could not hold off any longer...or they are both a bit loose on morals. Oh well. This was a decent read anyway and I will consider reading the rest of the series.
Wolf Hills and Wolf Quest are the best of the Brotherhood of Blood series, IMHO. If you have been reading Brotherhood of Blood but have not yet read D'Arc's Tales of the Were series, I highly recommend that you do, beginning with Lords of the Were. The two series are closely related.
Ugh...now begins the wait for the next book to be released!
This is a story I have long wanted to be told. I love Jesse and his wraiths! Jesse is so sure and confident and the perfect alpha male. He knows what his strengths and weaknesses are and what is best for all his people. And Maria is his perfect mate. I love how her knowledge of herself grows as quickly as their feelings for each other while they journey towards their HEA. The author really brought the action and intensity and she kept me hooked until the very end. I love how this book lines up perfectly with the rest of her world and I can’t wait to read the next book. Hopefully it will bring us closer to the healing of the dryad.
I really enjoyed this story it's filled with intrigued and hot sex. I love that Maria wasn't a typical damsel in distress. She knew how to kick ass. She indeed a man to take care of of herself . I like to see that in my heroines. I loved Jesse's character in this book, he is good and and honorable male. He is also a very alpha male I love that instant connection and chemistry. I will put the story on my to be read again shelves.
I thoroughly enjoyed this world and the magic within it. The characters are well developed and even though I've started in the middle of the series, I feel at home in it. I will definitely be reading more books in this series!
