Why is this book named just D? Is this an error?
No, it is not. D is a very special letter. D is for Daemons and Devils, for Destruction and Desolation, for Deserts and Derelicts...

This book of short stories was deeply, darkly, disgustingly disturbing. (Sorry, trying to stick with the "D" theme). Downtown, Cave of Horror, and Despair were probably the best of the seven. Downtown was sometimes hard to follow, the main character's name was Tony Logan. The author would switch between calling him Tony or Logan. I'm not smart enough to pick up on if there was a reason why. Those three I mentioned were very detailed and gruesome. So if you've a weak stomach for those things, skip at least those three. Despair was rather long-winded, I started to skim, wanting it to be over. And House, well, I couldn't get into it. I just kept thinking this main character is Dumb, dumb, dumb. The endings were pretty predictable.

This handful of dark stories was entertaining and a good start for the author (I believe this is his only book). Anyway, the first and last stories, for me, were the best though all were quite readable.
