Raquel Lyon is an English author, who writes YA fantasy and NA contemporary romance stories. Her heroines are kinda kooky, her heroes slightly devilish, and her romance a bit on the raunchy side. If the sun is out, so is she. She has a crazy sugar addiction, loves a good curry, and eats ice cubes as if they’re going out of fashion.
She currently lives near Pendle Hill with her partner, two teenage daughters, and Florence the bunny rabbit.
I was a little bit disappointed, the important heroine became just a human ,the annoying best friend has great powers and her bully a queen.A given two stars to this book because of the end I hated it.
A bit disappointing... A lot of loose ends. What's the whole point of Lara being a demon? Mathanway was there when the Fugamors attacked, and so was Beth. Lara's role in the final battle was useless. Rudy suddenly pops up as Connors brand new Father in Law, there is no way you can get to know him and suspect anything about him and tadaaa suddenly he is the new bad guy. No tention building there, only a wrong kind of surprise. Even Tyron Reith, the main villain, gets swept aside by Rudy. Where's the major battle between the Lovell Boys and Tiron? A couple of close family members of Sebastion die, but there is hardly any expression of grief, which makes him shallow. So does his reaction on Sophies love for Connor, 'werewolf rules' are no excuse there as far as I am concerned. You don't want to share the love of your life with anyone, it just doesn't feel right.
Still, the book kept me fascinated enough to keep reading. Sophies inner battle for the choice between Sebastian and Connor was tense and I loved the moment Connor and Sophie came together.

Again for me, it was not realistic. The fight scenes, the conversations, the main character. Especially the main character. Out of ALL the females in the world, why on earth would a Goddess ( is it one d or two?) pick this chick to take over for her? From the beginning I knew she couldn't handle it. She made idiotic decisions constantly that affected everybody badly. She kept key information to herself, with no reasoning, whatsoever.
Why do I care that she paints?
And where the heck did Victor disappear to!?
The ending..pftftt I love you too...Again, not realistic, and let's just throw in why you hunted me down to begin with..pftftt.
The writing didnt flow. The story jumped around. A lot. There was no filler to move it from one scene to the other. It was like the book was written on Word, then cut and pasted into different places, rearranged.
Where, who and what is Sam? (I'm giving that blank stare, with my head tilted to the side, you know. That look. Who remembers Sam? I do. I have been waiting for him to pop up the entire read. No Sam..HA!)
I finished this one which was the last, at the time, of the series. I kept having the feeling that I read it before but I had not. Why I felt that way was I read the rest of the following books in the series, missing this one. In a couple of those, there were flash backs to this story, especially the ending.
That being said, I have to say that I was very surprised by some of the events that occurred in this book. I will not give you spoilers but some of Sophie’s decisions took me by surprise. Also, the insight to how the Weres lived and their lifestyle was another surprise. I enjoyed this story a lot and glad I finally read it as it filled in gaps from reading the rest of the series before reading this one.
Didn't like the way she suddenly only wanted Con and suddenly not Seb. I could understand loving both and not wanting to lose either, but you don't even see her struggle with her feelings for both, she zones straight into Con. My impression of her changes without me even noticing and makes her look a bit cheap.
I'm disappointed with how it ended. It was an anti-climax. Even though I enjoyed the world that Raquel had built, I was glad to leave it behind after book 3 which is not how it should work. I was actually angry at the end of reading the book.
Not all questions where answered and not all storylines where ended off. It feels like there should be another book with explanations.
Final battle, girl or goddess, which guy? Sophie has decisions to make and they are not easy. You are where you are by the choices you make a wise woman once said. And thus is true for Sophie. Does she chose the demon or the wolf? Which wolf? To be a goddess and leave this realm or stay? What about her art? Her best friend? Her brother? In her situation would you have chosen differently? Strangely the ending was dull and left me flat.
I did not care for the character Sophie. Wore me out going through 3 books and this character never progresses and caused nothing but unnecessary added problems and death to others through her lack of common sense, defiance to not follow orders or rules and continued to show her immaturity and bad judgement at the expense of others and her own selfishness.
I didn't intend to read this trilogy. I kept passing it up. I bought one of the 99¢ sets, and book one of this trilogy was included. Now, I am wondering what I was thinking. Great 👍 series. Highly recommend.
After finishing this trilogy I was quite disappointed. The characters were to back and forth and the story had many plot holes which sometimes made it confusing. As a whole the series could have been much better and I would have said this would represent an initial draft and therefore needs a lot of adjustments to make it a good read.
I know a lot of people were unsatisfied with the ending but I think it ended the way it needed to. It would have been nice to have to the super happy ending but I like the way the author chose to end it. It seemed more realistic for things to work out the way they did. I know that is vague but I don't like to give spoilers in my reviews and ruin the read for others. I enjoyed this book as much as the first in the series. The second one wasn't as good in my opinion but overall I enjoyed the series and would recommend to others who enjoy the genre.
I cried. I honestly cried when this book ended. I fell in love with all the characters and couldn't believe it was over. I kinda didn't like the ending not because it wasn't good but because of how, but then i found out there's a follow up series and read two of the books and felt instantly better because i got to see all my favorite characters back. I love love love this writer. Raquel Lyons is brilliant and witty and in my opinion a fantastic story teller. I cannot wait for more books from her!
This book had me at the first word. I felt like I was part of the team. Had to read each book. Wish there was more to the story as I feel it's not done. Would love to see them get married and have a family. And where the other realms take them and their children
I got so tired of the back and forth between Sebastian and Conner, it became petty and unappealing. I tried to finish the book but toward the end I felt as if the author was grasping at straws to find something to interest the reader in the next book. I made it through three books but won't be buying the fourth.
I enjoyed it, but didn't like the ending. In all three of the books in the series sometimes it was hard to understand exactly what was being said because it wasn't all americanized spelling and phrasing, but not so much that it really detracted much from the story. It does have a mild sex scene that some might prefer to skip over.
