Приятна книжка, която съществува на български под името "История на Япония - 11 изтъкнати учени ни въвеждат в миналото на Япония" от издателство Изток-Запад. Подходяща е за бързи справки преди всичко, доста е синтезирана. За нещастие разполага и с онзи тип дразнеща транскрибция, според която трябва да превеждаме всички срички така, както се изписват в японския. Тъй де, никога не ме е бивало като филолог, но определено този метод, прилаган тук, не е никак подходящ за българския вариант на японските думи и имена. В други книги за Япония от същото издателство положението ми се нрави повече.

Don't expect deep analysis on specific time periods. The book is small but covers the most interesting aspects of Japan and her people throughout history .
If you are looking for a brief overview of Japanese history from the early days of humanity until modern times and have 5-6 hours to spare. This is your book.

A must if you're a student of Japanese history, any period of Japanese history! Well, Kodansha International does it just right, this is the abridged version of the full "Japan: An Illustrated Encyclopedia" volume. This part on history is the collaboration among 11 experts who came together to reflect on the past. Divided by periods with useful tables and indexes in the back. Also some photos in each chapter. And did I mention it's BI-LINGUAL? Cool!
