Raven Lucas is searching for her missing dad, Elliott. But the clues don't add up and Raven knows now that her father had dangerous enemies.
A journalist with a grudge, a relentless relative, kidnapping, and a mysterious car crash add to the threats. Raven needs all of her courage and ingenuity to follow the trail where it leads. Especially when any step could dead wrong.
This was not nearly as enjoyable as Missing. Raven seems not only to be keeping secrets from her family and friends, but the readers themselves! There were too many times that the situation was not fully explained or expanded in way that would have made the book more enjoyable.
I still found the character of both Raven and her best friend, Sarah, well-written, they complement each other and work well as a detecting duo. The twists and turns of the plot keep the book moving at a comfortable pace. I especially liked the twist of [Bella's boyfriend being the waiter (hide spoiler)] and cannot wait to see how that turns out in Chinese Whispers.
