Muhammad ﷺ the Perfect Man
This book is considered one of the best about the sublime perfections of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Written by the leading Islamic scholar of recent times - Sayyid Muhammad ibn Alawi al-Maliki al-Hasani of Mecca, it is presented in English for the first time.
The author writes with great erudition and love about the perfection of the last of the Messengers, Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him, sourcing every point from careful exegesis of ayat of the Quran, well known hadith and episodes from the Sirah.
The book starts with the perfection of the noble lineage of the Prophet, followed by the perfection of his physical form and discusses in detail the perfection of the Muhammadan heart.
In the 300 pages that follow the Perfection of the Prophetic attributes are listed in great detail - ranging from the perfection of the Prophetic knowledge, justice, mercy, humility, leadership, courage, generosity, patience, loyalty, wisdom, oratory and forbearance to name but just a few.
The author was blessed with the gift of writing in clear concise narrative style which was highly readable but retained the grandeur of the discussion at hand without being overwhelmed by the scriptural evidence which he presents with meticulous authority. This is captured by Khalid Williams' lucid and exemplary translation which adds depth, breadth, and clarity making this within easy reach of the English speaking world.
The book ranks among the most important works of the Sayyid Muhammad who contends from a traditional Islamic point of view that the message of Islam can only be perfect if the bringer of that message is himself perfect. It serves as a timely reminder to the characteristics of the greatest human being that ever lived, and presents an insight into the noble Prophetic way, the behavioural code of conduct - the Sunna - of the Perfect Man, that he, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, left behind for all peoples for all times.

Shaykh al-Sharif Al-Sayyid Muhammad al-Hasan ibn Alawi ibn Abbas ibn Abd al-Aziz al-Maliki al-Hasani al-'Idrisi al-Makki (1944–2004) was a prominent Sunni Islamic scholar from Saudi Arabia.
He was one of the foremost traditional Islamic scholars of contemporary times, and without doubt, the most highly respected and loved scholar of the holy city of Mecca and the entire Hijaz region.
He is a grandson of the Prophet , a leader of the Ahlul Bayt, the Imam of Hadith in ourage, an authority of the four Madhhabs, a spiritual leader of the highest caliber, caller toAllah, and unparalleled in his standing in the world of traditional Islamic scholarship. A visit to him was considered imperative for the `Ulema who would visit Mecca.

33 books96 followers محمد بن علوي بن عباس المالكي الحسني المكي (1365 هـ - 1425 هـ)، عالم دين مسلم يُلقب بمحدّث الحرمين، وخادم العلم الشريف بالبلد الحرام. ينحدر من أسرة علمية عريقة، وأضحى من أهم علماء الحديث في عصره. تنقّل بين الكثير من الحواضر العلمية في العالم الإسلامي ليأخذ العلوم الإسلامية عن كبار العلماء، ولم يكن على وفاق دائم مع المؤسسة الدينية داخل السعودية.
* كانت له حلقة شهيرة في المسجد الحرام بمكة المكرمة تعتبر امتدادا لأكثر من 600 سنة من تدريس أجداده، ويعتقد البعض أن سبب توقفها يرجع إلى إقصائه من قبل علماء آخرين من السعودية على علاقة بالمؤسسة الدينية الرسمية لكونه لا يتفق مع منهجهم، وقد تعرض للتحقيق والمتابعة أكثر من مرة من قبل هذه الجهة، وربما يؤكد هذا أن أغلب مؤلفاته طبعت خارج السعودية.
* تحصل على درجة الدكتوراه من كلية أصول الدين بجامعة الأزهر بمصر.
* منحته جامعة الأزهر درجة الأستاذية الفخرية (بروفيسور) في 2 صفر 1421 هـ (6 مايو 2000) بناء على ما تضمنه التقرير المفصل من تقييم علمي للأبحاث والمؤلفات المقدمة على المستوى العلمي الأكاديمي في مجال التخصص الدقيق وذلك باسم الجامعة الإسلامية الحكومية بقدح دار الأمان بماليزيا.
* انتخب رئيساً للجنة التحكيم الدولية لمسابقة القرآن الكريم أعوام 1399 هـ, 1400 هـ, 1401 هـ وهو أول رئيس لها.
* أقام أكثر من ثلاثين معهدًا وثلاثين مدرسة في شرق آسيا وجنوبها.
* ظل مجلس درسه على الدوام حافلا بالشباب والشيوخ إلى جانب المجاورين من الطلاب وبالأخص القادمين من جنوب آسيا الذين كان يتكفل بإيوائهم وتدريسهم أصول الدين والفقه وعلوم الحديث وقواعد اللغة العربية ليعودوا ليتأهلوا كدعاة للإسلام في بلدانهم.

9 ay süren uzun bir okumaydı, her gün yatmadan önce 1 bölüm okumaya çalıştım, bazı haftalar hiç okumadım.. kitap öyle büyük bir titizlik ve saygıyla hazırlanmış ki çeviri yoluyla bile kaybolmamış bu ihtimam.. Bu kitap beni Peygamberime ﷺ çok yakın hissettirdi, onu daha yakından tanıyabilme şerefine nail olmuş gibi hissediyorum Sayyid Muhammad Alawi al-Maliki sayesinde, Allah ondan razı olsun.

A well-researched and very thorough work on the various qualities and attributes of the Islamic Prophet ﷺ, ‘Muhammad ﷺ The Perfect Man’ is less a biography that recounts the events of the Prophetic life, and more an explanation of the virtues Allah bestowed upon him and the lessons we can derive from his life. Sayyid Muhammad ibn ‘Alawi also discusses how Islamic law has been derived from his ﷺ life and teachings and expounds on the ease that Islam proffers on its adherents.
I found the book to be beneficial for my faith as it cleared a number of doubts I had. The chapter on Prophetic beauty which discussed the Muhammadan Light helped me understand the concept for the first time in its true essence. Significantly, the book addressed many contentious issues and the doubts people might have regarding the perfection of the Prophet ﷺ. Sayyid Muhammad presented the opinions of all parties and clarified the matter using the soundest arguments of Islamic scholars. I found the majority of his proofs to be convincing and well thought-out.
The translator, Khalid Williams, in my opinion, did an excellent job. The language was clear and easy to understand. The footnotes were quite helpful as well. However, I would have preferred if the translation of the Quran were accompanied by the original Arabic verses. Additionally, I would have liked if the Hadiths presented were properly referenced rather than simply indicating the books they were from.
Overall, ‘Muhammad ﷺ The Perfect Man’ was an informative and valuable read. It succeeded in in increasing my love for the Prophet ﷺ and improved my relationship with the Deen of Allah. And what more could a book on Islam hope to accomplish?

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is similar to other books (Ash shifa / my master...) but comes at it for a slightly different angle which is intriguing and got a lot of insightful knowledge about the Habib.

الكتاب غطى شخصية النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم الكاملة من جوانب عديدة بشكل مختصر وذكر نماذج من السنة والقرآن الكريم.
وما يستفاد من هذا الكتاب كثير ،ولغته سهلة تصلح للجميع.
وذكر فيه آداب الخطاب مع النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم في حياته وبعد انتقاله إلى الرفيق الأعلى.
أنصح بقرائته
