This wasn't a bad book, and had lots of excellent advice. It just didn't provide anything new or revolutionary.

Also, it had an exclamation mark problem - way too many unnecessary exclamation marks. Overuse of exclamation marks in non-fiction makes your writing come across amateurish and I find it excruciating to read. I get why you, as a writer, might be tempted to use and exclamation mark to make sure your reader knows that this piece of information is exciting or novel, but if it's really exciting or novel - they'll know. Your readers (hopefully) are not stupid.

I'd probably have given three stars, but the exclamation mark thing is a huge pet peeve of mine.

Look. I've read a lot about dieting, exercising, healthy lifestyles, etc. I've worked for a weight-loss organization for 17 years. There is pretty much nothing in this book that I haven't read before.

I picked this up because I am a fan of the FBG website and wanted to support their cause. I think this would be a great, positive book for someone trying to make a change in their life who hasn't already read everything that's out there. FBG is upbeat and realistic.

Having said that this is nothing new to me, I will admit that I dog-eared some things. Sometimes you just need to read and hear things for the umpteenth time. (shortcut soup and some of the 10 minute workout ideas are the things I marked to return to later)

I am not a believer in diets so I thought ok let's pick this book up and see what they have to say. From the first page I enjoyed reading this book, I like that it is not a diet book but a way to live book. It was nice how in each chapter you get some ten minute ideas on how to use their strategies. This is a very upbeat book to read so you don't feel as if you are being bogged down with a lot of information. I look forward to learning how to live better through this book.

There are some good suggestions in here, and I think the 10-minute fixes can be really useful in some instances. But the book seems to be aimed only at extroverts, with excessive cheerleading and the assumption that you're going to gather up 100 of your friends and party.

Finished this a while ago. Now that I know more about how to have a healthy relationship with food, I know more about intuitive eating, and I can identify my disordered eating triggers, I found points in this book problematic.

I just started but I really like how this book is starting out. I am going to use this book along with the web site http://fitbottomedgirls.com/

Well I have read the first 22 pages and I feel like I went to my own personal pep rally for my weight loss journey. I am really impressed by this book so fare. It uses a lot of lingo from the 80's and 90's.

I really really like this book it is becoming my go to book on my diet journey. With this book keeping me motivated I have lost weight. Not just a pound or 2 but 10 pounds. So I am very please with this book. It just gives you that extra motivation. I would recommend using this book as a diet, self help motivational book.

They had me in the intro, and chapters 1 & 2, but lost me at chapter 3.
I loved the premise of 10-minute fixes.
Maybe its just my math, but I don't see how "Steady Rocking Cardio" at 2-3 times a week, 10-60 minutes plus "HIIT IT" at 1-2 times a week, 10-30 minutes plus "Get Strong" at 2-3 times a week, 10-60 minutes, "Get Bendy" at 5-7 times a week, 5-10 minutes fits into a busy schedule. Not to mention that I don't intuitively understand "plank position".
That chapter took the wind out of my sails. Read the rest of the book, and there are some good ideas in there, but chapter 3/"Move Your Body" really disappointed me, and left a bad taste for the rest of it.
BTW, got it from First Reads/Goodreads.

This book is chock full of practical advice on how to NOT diet and how to become a more beautiful you from the inside out. The authors explore ten principles to bring positive changes including 10 minutes fixes that are easy to implement. The information is presented in an honest fun positive plus format. These knowledgable authors believe in the ability of women to bring about real change in their physical health. If you are tired of all the different diets out there, dive into this book and become a fit-bottomed girl. Only con for me is that I felt the need to skip around in the book searching for the info that rang a bell for me. Thought at times the book was a bit wordy. But nevertheless a very good book to include in your journey to wellness.

I'm on page 110 of 320 of The Fit Bottomed Girls : I have read more than my share of weightloss books and I have to say I love this book. The tone is fun and friendly, none of the scientific jargon. A lot is common sense but I love how it is broken down into 10 minute "fixes". It is meant for the average Jane (and Joe). I have already begun to impliment some of the fixes and I do believe it will help me become a Fit Bottom Girl. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is trying to loose 5 to 200 pounds.

I felt like a lot of the content of this book was very common sense. It is full of practices I already implement, but they do work. Perhaps I have just had enough trial and error in my quest for fitness that I have come to a lot of the same conclusions on my own. That said, I really enjoy the authors' writing style. I'm a big fan of their blog and get their emails all the time. They are positive people with a great ethos.

I received this as a first reads book. I enjoyed the light hearted tone and supportive attitude. It does recommend a lot of journal exercises which would probably give insight into eating habits but..I really don't like to journal. I was relieved to find out I am not the only person who finds deciding what to cook for family dinner stressful. Lastly, the book includes some handy workouts and recipes. also.

I won a copy of The Fit Bottomed Girls Anti Diet book on Goodreads. What I loved the most about this book is that the The Fit Bottom Girls Anti Diet book is very empowering for those who are struggling to get healthier. Also, I loved that this book is easy to implement because the healthy changes are not drastic or impractical. Another important strength of this book is that it approaches health holistically.

won on Goodreads giveaway. I have read so many diet books that they all seem to give the same basic diet advice about portion control, believing in yourself, rewards for meting goals and all that. The only difference is that it seems more upbeat than most other books and not as wordy and lengthy thankfully. There are a few things I'll add to my daily lifestyle but it's not something I would do a total lifestyle change for.

Unlike most diets, this is a life-style change. And not in some horrible way. Most of the advise is very practical, just presented in a great, new, and simple way. For anyone who wants to lose weight in healthy way, and anyone who just wants to feel better about themselves. Weight isn't the emphasis here. Making healthy choices in order to feel better, in general, and better about yourself.

I really enjoyed the refreshing perspective this book had to offer about creating a healthy lifestyle rather than trying to stick to a diet. There are so many great tips and takeaways that I know I'll be referencing this book constantly in my journey to better health! I also loved that there were 10 minute "fixes" at the end of each chapter so you could implement each principle right away.

This is a great collection of sane and positive advice, covering every lifestyle area. Most of these ideas are not new to me, but it's great to have it all presented as a total, reasonable approach to everything. I wish I'd had this book years ago!

All information I have seen elsewhere, but I would definitely recommend the book if this were your first time being exposed to "anti-diet" strategies. They explain things quickly and easily and have a lot of suggestions on how to baby-step habit changes.
