Rate this book
Echo James is on the run from a sordid life with a psychopathic ex-con and his collection of hedonistic followers. All the willowy blonde knows for sure is that her life depends on putting the past behind her, no matter what kind of unpredictable future lies ahead. Through a mutual connection, she seeks the help of a mysterious loner named Hawke, a man who specializes in helping people take on new identities.

After a tense, high speed escape through the desert, Echo finds Hawke's remote home, only to discover that the man she hired to help her invent a brand new future may be linked to her past in unexpected ways. As each of them learn a brand of trust neither has ever known, the past and present collide before plans for the future are certain.

But how certain can the future ever be? How certain does it really need to be when there's a chance you don't have to face it alone?

Echo James is a woman running from a psychopathic ex-con that only wants her as a possession and his sexual perversions. A mutual connection leads her into the hands of man that’s known for helping change people into someone new. Hawk is a loner with a connection to Echo’s past. A man who’s head is still behind the steel bars that once held him.

“There’s more of you in here than you think.”

“Didn’t you ever just want to reinvent yourself and disappear – do it for yourself like you do for other people?”

“I can’t get out of prison,” he said. “It wouldn’t matter.”

Frank Lee writes a story that just draws you in and doesn’t let you go. His descriptions and plots make you feel a part of the story. My only problem with this story is that it left me hanging. I want more. More, Frank!!

Just so you know, this is much more than an erotic story. It has been described as having a "Kill Bill" vibe and that may be true.

It tells a tale of scarred people facing what was but using it to rediscover their own value. The sensuality and deeply emotional imagery of this book gives this a personal quality. I found myself marking quotes because I wanted to be able to say those things to myself.

This is a wonderful book on many levels. Oh, and there is hot sex as well...wonderful sex.
