I was going write this was more Wyoming Bland that Wyoming Bold, but that's not really true.

However....

Someone must have bashed DP over the head before sitting down at her typewriter. The hero was entranced by the beautiful heroine from the gitgo. There was no evil OW lording it over a bedraggled and forlorn h, no snide remarks by the H about her lack of talent and experience in the boudoir, her small breasts or how plain she is in comparison to the non-existent OW. I can't even recall if there is a scene where she paws his hairy chest. What if he doesn't have one!!!!!

Sweet and gentle romance writer, what have you done with Diana Palmer? Perhaps that would explain why I finished this yesterday, and don't remember much beyond her being psychic and him being nice.

I guess the heroine suffered enough with a really evil father, the supposed but never seen shunning by the town for the h and her mother’s psychic powers and the tragedy of NOT living in Jacobsville. And if I read more time about her curdling the milk....

On the positive side, it does introduce about three or four mean cowboys that will soon be making their own little heroines suffer. Did I say positive?

Diana, please don’t give me what I ask for; give me what I need.

I always look for something positive to say about a book. The best I can say is that I finished "Wyoming Bold." The cover and title are more exciting than the story inside. If you've been satisfied by the quality of books Diana Palmer has written over the past decade then you'll probably enjoy this one. For me it was another disappointment.
There's not much romance or suspense. Merissa and Dalton aka Tank instantly fall in love with no real obstacles to keep them apart. Tanks spends just as much time with other characters as he does with Merissa. I recognized all of the secondary characters but was still overwhelmed by two states full of past characters. The suspesnse was flat. The climax scene had the potential to be teriffying but like most of the book, the writing style tells instead of shows. Carson needs his own series where everyone else is secondary characters as once again he saves the day while the hereo stands helplessly by.
This book is die hard fans only.

Very disappointing. From the almost nonexistent old fashioned romance to the full of potential suspense that not only was blotched and had many incoherences but also ended up on a cliffhanger. That's right, a cliffhanger! :(

Just didn't work for me. Why ?
Merissa and Tank instantly fall in love, insta-love. There are no real obstacles the romantic chase is not there. A virginal, outcast.- Sigh-There were so many side characters I was over whelmed and miffed that the main couple spent so little time with each other. The suspense was flat line.
I love the cover, it is beautiful. I just did not care for the story inside. The idea of the two characters was unique but never panned out as I hoped. I must admit I have not read any of the other books in this series so I can't compare them. This is also my first time reading this author.

I gave this one star because it didn't hold my interest and was almost a DNF. I forced my way through it, though, in hopes of a dead wife reappearing or some amnesia. No such luck; however I was rewarded by the following anonymized exchange:

H OF A FUTURE BOOK #1: While I am glad our friend has found love with the h, I will never settle down. I love variety. In fact, I am having sex with several women right now.
H OF A FUTURE BOOK #2: I only like beautiful women who are sophisticated. I have no use for plain women who don't keep up with the times. (Glares.)
H OF A FUTURE BOOK#3: I, too, will not fall in love because...umm...err...OK, I admit it, my book's plot hasn't been determined yet so I'm keeping it vague.

This book was awful! The storyline was conceivable but that was the only good thing in this. Obviously you need to have read the other two books to understand, actually no I don't think that would have helped. character development was poor, romance was almost caveman like and ... I can't go on. This was just horrid. I was looking for an easy light hearted read. I wasn't expecting Umberto Eco. What I got was a poorly written novel that could have been written by a Year 10 student. Apologies to Year 10 students.

Review in Portuguese and English.

Neste livro vamos conhecer Dalton "Tank" Kirk e Merissa Baker.
Recomendo a leitura!

----------------------------------------------------------

I'm a big fan and collector of books of Diana Palmer.
I was very happy with the copy provided by Harlequin via NetGalley to honest review.
The story continues immediately after the events of the book The Protector and several beloved characters appear throughout history, Hayes, Cash, Garon, Cy, Rick, Jon and Dalton's brothers.
In this book we meet Dalton "Tank" Kirk and Merissa Baker. She has premonitions and appears at the door of his house warning that his life is in danger and that an enemy is hunting him.
He doesn't believe her but is charmed by her anyway. Some facts happen and Dalton shall believe in Merissa, in fact he thinks it's better to be safe than sorry.
Dalton comes into contact with Hayes Carlson and learns of several strange details that connect the two assassination attempts against both. Carlson also requests the help of Roarke, our old acquaintance of previous books.
Has typical scenes of books by the author, as the scene of two going to a restaurant and our hero gets all sweet with her. The scene left me with a smile on my face and shows that our hero has the potential.
Merissa has premonitions about the love life of Roarke and I hope we have a book of his own soon. We heard details about Carson's life and my curiosity about him only increased.
The enemy is approaching more and more and they can't figure out who he is because he uses multiple disguises.
The story has enough suspense and the search for the perp is quite interesting, but I miss more romantic scenes between the hero and the heroine, but when the two interact the scenes are pretty sweet and the hero is a cute!
The book ends with the story pointing to the next book that certainly will continue in the search for the mastermind of the murders and attempted murders that occurred in recent books.
Bring the history of Carson and Carlie!
I recommend reading!

This is the third book in the Wyoming series. This book can be read as a stand alone book, as the books are not dependent on each other. The Wyoming series is about the 3 Kirk brothers and how they find love. The third book, Wyoming Bold, is the story of the youngest Kirk brother, Dalton or as he is known by his family Tank.

I loved, loved, loved the first two books in this series – they each have had very different story lines but both had hooks that kept you interested the entire read. This book was no different. The story line, characters and the added suspense will have you devouring this book in record time. If you enjoy characters who are a little different you will enjoy the meek and mild character of Merissa. Her innocence is refreshing. Tank’s caring, protective attitude will make those of us who enjoy a strong hero swoon. There is a balance between romance and suspense throughout the entire book. Tank and Merissa’s developing love is beautifully intertwined with elements of suspense and mystery – you will be on your toes from beginning to end. I dare you to read and not catch the “who done it” syndrome. I also enjoyed how characters from Palmer’s other books made special guest appearances. It added to the charm factor and added another layer in her on-going saga. There are some scenes that maybe intense for some readers – mystery, murder, attempted murder – are all themes you will encounter throughout the book.

Charming, heartwarming, mysterious, suspenseful – this book has it all. You will not be disappointed with one single page, I promise.

Wyoming Bold is the third book in the Wyoming Men series and continues telling the story of the Kirk brothers, focusing on the youngest brother Tank. The mystery is centered around the rogue DEA agent that attempted to kill Tank when he was serving in the U.S. Border Patrol. The agent/assassin is trying to tie up some loose ends and Tank is one of those ends.

The heroine in this book is a psychic neighbor of the Kirks that shows up one night during a snowstorm to warn Tank that his life is in danger. She is the standard Palmer heroine, virginal and a bit of an outcast. The usual conflict between the Hero and heroine are missing in this book.

Diana Palmer is an accomplished writer with a good editor which is evident in Wyoming Bold, but she is a formulaic writer. Her books tend to have similar plots and characters. Fortunately, for me, her formula is like a familiar old robe; comfortable and reassuring. I found this to be an enjoyable, easy book.

3,5 estrellas.

2.5

I have read several books by Palmer, of which I enjoyed, so when this book came up for review I certainly requested it.

The book starts off strong. Dalton Kirk, or Tank is the main character that the book follows. He has several brothers that were mentioned and made some appearances in this book. One was named Mallory. Seriously? I've heard of Leslie or Marion but Mallory for a male...Ridiculous!

I think Palmer is a good romance novelist. Her work is done well and I will continue to read her books, but this one, in particular, I found her weakest, as far as writing. The mystery behind the novel wasn't done well. I'm saying that some people have strengths in areas and weaknesses in others and I find that mystery is not Palmer's strength.

I found and felt that Palmer hashed through certain descriptions and conversations to the point where I asked myself, several times, if I have read his section before. She would mention something in the dialogue only to have it re-stated, almost word for word at a later time. It felt redundant and a little confusing. It was confusing to me because as the reader, I felt I already knew that and there wasn't enough space in between sections for me to have forgotten the information. I suppose Palmer was trying to keep the reader informed and kept up with the mystery of the book, but really I felt coddled.

Luckily, Palmer kept up the romance in this book. The relationship between Dalton and Merissa was fast but I thought they fit well together. I liked how Palmer added in some scary situations and some stolen moments with these two characters. It was nice to know that Palmer kept up the romance and didn't strictly keep to the mystery.

I have not read another book in this series. Because of that, I had some feelings and opinions of this book that can be explained by this book being a part of a series. Not having known that, I felt the book had a lot of characters. At times, it was hard to keep up with everyone and their roles, statuses and value to the story. I felt Mavie, the supposed housekeeper, was a useless character. She offered no value to this novel but perhaps does in the other books in the series. I also felt that having a secondary character inform the reader of Dalton's accident would have been better coming from his perspective. I would have liked to have seen more interaction with Dalton and Merissa. This accident would have been a nice set up for some romance.

Towards the end there was a very weak transition. I felt Palmer to be a better writer than this and so it caught my attention when I saw it.

"Back in Texas,..."

I liked the secondary romance or hint of a new romance between the secretary in Texas and Carson. I was intrigued by his character and would be interested in reading their book. However, the ending of this book is taken up by sample of Mallory's story. Again with the name! Ugh! This sample is 20% of this book.

Overall, I think this book would be best not as a standalone. Had I read more of the other books in the series, I might have not been so confused with all the characters in Wyoming Bold. While the writing could have been better, I feel this book was ok. I would still recommend it to fans of Palmers. I would still recommend it to romance readers.

I received this book from Netgalley.

I miss the days when a western romance meant cowboys…bare-chested cowboys on horses, with a rifle! And I’m not talking historical romances either! Now western romances are mostly all about very rich men with the resources of an army career behind them. Nary a horse, a cow or a bare-chested cowboy to be seen!.
Diana Palmer is a new author to me and I see she has many followers. This made me confident that I would enjoy this read. I also thought that this would be a book in this series that I could just jump into since most authors do a pretty good job of catching a new reader up to snuff, but I had a lot of trouble with this book. There is really no back-story and there are so many secondary and tertiary characters all with shadowy past that I couldn’t seem to keep everyone straight and that detracted from my enjoyment of this novel.

This should have been a great read. The synopsis made it sound like it would be unique and fresh, but the story had so many flaws that I quickly became disenchanted with it and had a difficult time finishing this book.
This was a very sweet and very non-sexual story, more action driven than anything else. The idea of Merissa being somewhat psychic, coming to warn a man she is so obviously frightened of, and then falling for him while all hell is breaking loose, was interesting. However, I felt that the writing was a little clumsy and the story, while certainly interesting to a point –left me wondering just how this could have been considered a romance. The romance took such a back seat to the mystery that I don’t think it should be considered a romance. If it wasn’t for the obvious way that we were going to get a HEA, it would have just been mystery/suspense. There wasn’t even a lot of action since most of the book was spent simply discussing over and over what was going on and what might happen in the near future and what all the men had happen to them in the past.

The author may not have researched things to well either since I did catch at least one glaring error on the protocol of firearms and airlines. But, no biggy right? What was a problem was how these so-called espionage experts had been played the fool time after time. Even a ‘civilian like me could see what was going to come next and I have no army training or police training what-so-ever!

On a side note we end with this little gem ----------->SPOILERISH<-------------------
Apparently the politician who was setting this all up is named Matt Helm…an interesting choice of names is it not?*ARC Supplied by Publisher*

This would have to be one of the more confusing and unnecessarily complicated books I've ever tried to read. I don't know why it was called a romantic suspense as there is very little romance. Tank and Merissa meet and it's insta-love/lust on both sides and the only impediment is the uber-chameleon bad guy driving this story.

Merissa has the ability to have visions. These visions resulted in her being bullied at school to the point of being home schooled and unable to find employment in the town or it's surrounds. And yet every character in the first few chapters comments on how her abilities don't bother them and that historically every village had someone with just those abilities. Why is it this attitude doesn't extend to the town?

I found once Tank took his trip to Texas I got lost in characters. Cash (who I assume had a book somewhere), Carson (single name only with a tragic past and no doubt a book in his future), Carson Hayes (it might not be Carson but there were so many C names), his secretary Carlie who has likely been attacked by the uber bad guy for REASONS and that was those I could keep track of. Then we had Rourke who liked to feed people to crocs. It's not that I remembered this detail but that at least every other character commented on it twice. Then we had the characters that seemed to be added in just because - the uber bad guy's accomplice who added nothing to the story line and was murdered before she could be useful - she was there why?

We briefly return to romance in all this in that Merissa and Tank make out a bit - 3 times maybe - so of course s/he's the one. Then religion makes something of an obscure appearance and Merissa who has been shunned by everyone for all of her life explains to someone that she isn't "that" kind of girl to just "give it up" because she's had so much opportunity???? And of course Tank is thinking marriage but there is a created and pathetic misunderstanding between the two to delay the HEA.

And then her abusive father makes a reappearance and moves in???? Because of course when the man who beats you to the point of breaking bones comes back you don't ask for help or report him to the police you just wait to be rescued.

I realize I started this series at book three but I have NO desire to start at the beginning or continue.

This ebook I got from netgalley as ARC :)
Sadly, I'm not read this book from the first series, so I couldn't imagine how Dalton's brothers met their wives :'(

Let's move on. The story begin when Dalton met Merissa. All the citizen believes that she's a witch and bring misfortune. But this time, she come to him to give Dalton a warn. She has this vision about someone who want to harm Dalton.

At the beginning, Dalton didn't believe it at all, but when Merissa told one of Dalton's co-worker about the accident that will be happened to him, he slowly believed. And not quite long, what Merissa saw, become a reality.

Together they try to reveal who wished upon Dalton's death....

What can I say, Diana Palmer is one of my favorite authors. But if you want to read her usual romance between the two characters, maybe you'll be a little disappointed.

There's no hate and love between the Merissa and Dalton, all they can see is flowers everywhere, though there's a chapter about how Dalton got jealous. Quite funny :)

What caught me in this story is how Diana Palmer take me into the case. God, I wish I knew who wants Dalton's death. Who kill Merissa's father. WHO???

And I really curious about Carson Lakota! Also about Rourk. Arghhhh.... When will Diana Palmer published about them? I wish soon!

I have loved reading Diana Palmer's books over the years but her writing can be sometimes, same old, same old! But she always seems to make it work because once I start one of her books, I don't like to put it down until I'm finished with it. And this one works, it's part of her "Wyoming Men" series which also seems to tie into her "Long, Tall Texans" series too.

This one is about the youngest brother that was shot up when he was part of the Border control and almost died and a young lady that has visions.

Here is the write-up from Amazon:

Former border agent Dalton Kirk thought his life was over—literally—when a gang of smugglers left him for dead. Defying all odds, he survives his ordeal and returns to his Wyoming ranch ready to dedicate his future to a more peaceful home on the range. Until lovely Merissa Baker knocks on his door.

Merissa is well aware of her reputation as the local eccentric—she knows things before they happen—and she's had a vision that Dalton is in danger. Even though her beliefs clash with Dalton's cowboy logic, she's determined to save the handsome rancher she's secretly loved forever.

Visions? It's all ridiculous to Dalton…until things start happening that prove Merissa right. And now Dalton is not the only target—so is Merissa. Can Dalton be bold enough to trust the unknown? Is this Wyoming man ready to love?

Dalton Kirk was a former Border patrol agent. He now runs the family Cattle ranch in Wyoming. One night during a snow storm Merrisa Baker, his neighbor, knocks on his door. She walked to his house because her car wouldn't start. She wanted to speak to Dalton. Merrisa had insight to some things and she came to warn Dalton his life was in danger and to be careful. She was freezing so she came in to get warm and then Dalton took her home. He really didn't believe in her type of gift but she knew so much and he wasn't sure how. She then warned him not to let his ranch foreman go out to fix a fence by himself. He did send someone with him and a tree branch feel on him and pinned him down. Had he gone by himself he would have died in the cold. He found Merrisa really fascinating and really pretty. He invited her to dinner and that was the start of their relationship. This story is great. It is full of suspense. I couldn't figure out what was going to happen next as Dalton tried to protect, Merrisa from his assassin. I couldn't put this book down I had to see how it ended. There is also no sex scenes in this book. You will find it a great story to read.

Another great book in the Wyoming men series these first three books with these tough sexy alpha cowboys but they meant their match when they meant their woman. But I was worried when Merissa Baker first went and talked to Dalton Kirk because I thought he would like every one else not believe her because of her powers I didn't think he would take it to heart till he started putting the pieces together and realized she saved his life but I knew he was hooked on her from the start can't wait to read more books by Diana Palmer and more in this series he loved her asked her to marry him and backed out gets mad and realized that he loves her because she almost dies I loved how other characters from some of her other books come into play in this book Merissa has such a big heart her and her mom both do they have already been though so much with Merissa dad loved these two they are not use being around people to. Much because they can see things and they were scared to be around Tanks family even though they are nice people

Corações Ousados
Diana Palmer
Série Homens de Wyoming 04
Harlequin
2014

Dalton Kirk gets a visit from his "witchy" neighbor Merissa. She has come to tell him that someone from his past want him dead and they are coming in the near future to watch his back. He was going to dismiss her but when she warns farm hand Darby to be careful and take someone with him when repairing the fence, they found out that she knew what she was talking about because Darby would have lost his life if they hadn't listened to her.

Merissa is attracted to Dalton and yet frightened of him. Because of his size he reminds her of her abusive father that has not been heard from for several years. When the person wanting Dalton dead start targeting Merissa and her mother Dalton comes to the rescue.

Together they both have to fight past demons to forge ahead in their lives together.

I loved this third book in the series.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
I loved this book and the romance the developed between Dalton and Merissa. Merissa braves a Snow Storm too warn Dalton of the danger he faces because of the man who led him into the ambush she knows things about him that she should't know. Some of the things she knows shows that she does in fact sometimes see the future makes it pretty hard to argue with her. You can Tell from almost the beginning that Dalton is falling for her though he drags his heels and takes it slow. However Merissa ends up in Danger not only because Dalton cares for her but because of the things she knows. This is a great story filled with love, mystery, and intrigue

**I won this book in a goodreads giveaway in exchange for a honest review**

Merissa is one of my favorite heroines now,I just loved her in this book and I really liked Dalton also. This has easily became my favorite in the series. Dalton and Merissa's love story is wonderful and I could not wait to see what happened that I ended up reading the whole book in one day. I also like the fact that she has other characters in the book to like the brothers and some of the ranchers. I really hope there is more in the series because of the way it ended and would love to see what happens next. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance with a little suspense in it.

absolutely loved it. it is right up there with all of Diana Palmer's brilliance's. once you open the book you won't want to put in down Tank and Merissa will bring you in. the ending has me craving for Carlie's story because you just know Carson is involved and with Merissa's visions it makes you wonder if they will find love together or be left being apart. but you are also left wondering is the big bad boss guy really done with Tank and Hayes. overall an awesome read and leaves you wanting more.
