I had a really fun time reading Taming the Texas Rancher. It was a sweet story with a fun premise. The two main characters sometimes made bad decisions that they had to overcome and start fresh from as they worked to build a relationship, however, I really liked both Daniel and Hannah and enjoyed their story and the way they both grew. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I really enjoyed this book! Taming the Texas Rancher is a stand alone, though it does link up with The Marshal’s Promise and Groom By Arrangement (I highly recommend reading both, if you have the time). I’ve been anticipating this book ever since I found out it would be Hannah’s and I am very happy to say that it did not disappoint! I loved the characters and watching them grow throughout the book. Trust is an underlying problem for both Hannah and Daniel. Hannah must learn to trust God’s love and Daniel must learn to trust God with the people in his life. I really enjoyed seeing their faith grow through out the story as they begin trusting God and each other. There’s also a slight mystery to keep things moving and add a little suspense at the end. My only complaint is that the ending seemed a little abrupt, to me. I would’ve liked it to be a little longer with a few more details about what was going on. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian historical romance
Overall, it was a really good book. I did think the ending seemed a bit rushed. The whole story builds up the mystery of who is causing problems for the ranch, and I was disappointed with who it was and how it was resolved. Other than that I really enjoyed it.
Facebook can be a good thing, for it is where I often get a glimpse of author's books I may not come across otherwise. TAMING THE TEXAS RANCHER by RHONDA GIBSON is one of them. The cover grabbed my attention, then the synopsis. When I spotted it at my local store, I couldn't resist.
Daniel Westland's mother placed him in a situation that has left him no choice but to take on a wife. When he goes to meet his future bride, his brother is right there claiming to do the same. Lucky for Daniel, his brother's mail-order bride was a no show.
Hannah Young arrived in Granite, Texas with more than just getting married on her agenda. She made it perfectly clear to Mr. Westland that she has no intentions of marrying and starting a family until they are in love. Only problem is there was a mix-up in their correspondence and he never received that bit of information.
The first half of the book I was captivated and thoroughly impressed with MS. GIBSON'S ability to tell a story. I had a hard time putting it down. It was that good. I loved the whole "Race to the Alter" concept. I was totally enthralled by Daniel's brother, Levi. I have a hunch he may just very well be the hero of her next book.
My Thoughts: I read a lot of the Love Inspired Historicals every month. Some of them I will actually post a review on my blog, Goodreads, or Amazon. Some I won't. Sometimes, I'll only post the review on Goodreads. I know my reading schedule is so full that I do not have time to review EVERY book I read, though my facebook page may show I've completed it. But every once in a while, I will decide to post a review of one these books.
Rhonda Gibson is one Love Inspired Historical author whose books always delight me. In this one, I loved how both Daniel and Levi are expecting their brides to arrive, yet only one does. And Hannah expects to be courted. The journey that Hannah and Daniel go on is fun and full of some interesting twists. I typically read Rhonda's books in a couple of hours and never really want the story to end.
I read this book for pure pleasure.

Rhonda's newest book, His Chosen Bride is due out this May.
I love when people fight so hard not to love and it bites them in the butt anyway!! :)
Mail order bride arrives to lost correspondence and misunderstandings. Assumptions are always fun. Throw in some sibling rivalry and a bunch of rustlers and that tells you all about this story.
Enjoyed this book overall, but was a bit disappointed at the ending. There were a few things that seemed to be left unanswered, but overall not a super bad book.

What kind of mother would pit two brothers against each other in order to get grandchildren? This book makes a person wonder about Bonnie Westland as a mother as she offers the family ranch to the first of her boys to marry and produce a grandchild. Daniel Westland, the older brother, is a hard working, handsome young man who can’t come to terms with the thought that he might lose the property he has worked on so hard his whole life. His younger brother, Levi, is a happy, carefree young man who sees the ranch as a means to enable him to live a life beyond the ranch’s confines.
Into the midst of this turmoil arrives Hannah Young. She is a lovely, young mail-order bride with a slight problem that makes resolute in her conviction that she will be courted and loved by her suitor. In this case the suitor is the ever anxious Daniel Westland. He has a deadline to meet and Hannah is not complying. Levi’s bride is missing in action so he adds a little spice to the already uncomfortable situation that embroils Hannah and Daniel. The fun begins!
The book is a charming story full of family, emotions, and the complications of every day life on a ranch. The characters are enjoyable and add some light-hearted amusement to the story. Being a “love inspired” historical, we find good clean language and an easy going plot to follow through the book. A gentle romance with a touch of the old western ranch life thrown in! Nice work, Rhonda Gibson!

MY REVIEW As I am reading the books in this 'series', as I'm calling it, each one seems to get better than the last. I really enjoy Rhonda's books. This mail-order bride book does take a different story line than most I've read and I found it quite interesting. Another book I can happily suggest for others to read.
I really enjoyed this book! But I have a few things that I didnt like about the book and that is why I rated it 3 stars. One, it was on the slower side and second, it ended rather quickly. But on another side it was a very sweet book and the romance was slow but sweet. I sometimes didn't like how stubborn Hannah was but I admired her for her courage at the same time, I didn't like how Daniel sometimes treated her like she was a child yet I liked how he was trying to protect her although at times he seemed somewhat overprotective. But I loved seeing them grow in their faith in God and learn how to truth in Him. I give this book 3 and 1/2 stars and I do recommend this book! :)
When their Mom decides that the son that gets married first and has a child first will inherit the ranch, the brothers looks for a mail order bride.
Daniel is expecting to get married the same day that Hannah arrives, but she has other plans. She wants to be courted first. He hadn't told her about his Mom's plans.
This is a Mail Order Bride story, but with a very different twist. Very much enjoyed the book.
I guess it was okay. Maybe I've just read too many books lately where the 'he' has to relinquish control to God. Not that that's a bad thing; it's just 'been there, done that' a lot. And some of Hannah's choices were just foolish. I give it an 'eh' rating.
This mail-order bride insists on being in love before she says "I Do." This rancher is in a race to marry before his brother so that he inherits the ranch.
