I expected more from a book by an "expert", this book is biased and does not even begin to consider that both sides may actually have a reasonable argument. Studs not finish reading, mostly because of my disgust at the biased nature our the text.

Although written in 1997 and somewhat outdated at this point, this book is very informative and, in many ways, relevant until today. It sheds light on many important events in the history of the Palestinian cause, many of which the author himself was involved in as a legal advisor, such as the events that led to the rise of the Oslo Accords. Most importantly, it talks about Israeli violations of international law in the Second Intifada and thereafter and shows that legally, these violations amount to nothing less than "crimes against humanity". The US' complicity in these acts and others are also considered an offence under international law.

The author also creates a list of actions member states of the UN as well as activists for Palestinian rights can take in order to make Israel abide by international law. These include, but are not limited to:

1) Creating an international criminal tribunal for Palestine (ICTP)

2) Enforcing sanctions against Israel

3) Dumping the dishonest broker

4) Divesting and Disinvesting from Israel (I.e., In today's terms, supporting BDS - something which is important considering the author's agreement that Israel is an apartheid state).

My biggest concern with the book, however, is its disregard of the 1948 war (the Nakba) and its effect on the Palestinian issue today.
