Waiting For It

Rate this book
Love that lasts forever is the kind worth waiting for.

Taylor Moore is an artist. With the bold colors of her palette, she gives life to her passionate memories of Jake Farrell. It's been ten long years since the dark-haired, green-eyed football player left town. In that decade, Taylor has been married to and divorced from the bitter man who always stood between them. After all this time, she still aches with hunger for that ruggedly beautiful boy from her past, unable to love another. But when Jake suddenly comes home, all grown up and claiming to have returned for her, Taylor's not buying it.

She's more than ready to trust the gorgeous man with her body, allowing his dominant sexuality full control; she just refuses to trust him with her heart. But Jake's been waiting a lifetime for this woman, and he's not about to accept half-measures. He wants her full surrender, and Taylor must finally find the courage to stop waiting for it and start living for love.

Whew!

This us a second chance at love trope. Years ago Jake had a crush on Taylor, but she started dating his friend and so Jake leaves and Taylor eventually marries Jake's friend. Ten years later Taylor is divorced and Jake comes back to town to claim the girl he has always loved.

This book was all kinds of hot and sex!. Rhyannon Byrd sure knows how to write erotica!

Man! I love me some Rhyannon Byrd! Her stories are hot, sexy, romantic, and did I say... HOT! Plus they make me feel so many things in regards to the H/H!

Jake is a high school football stud who falls hard for a shy girl named Taylor. Because of mean spirited friends and misunderstandings, they go 10 years after high school pining away for each other.

When Taylor finally gets divorced from Mitch- the town Sheriff, Jake comes running back to claim her for himself. He loves her and wants nothing more than to be with her forever... but first he has to get her to believe him.

Taylor's self esteem is so low from the emotional abuse of her ex-husband, that she has a hard time believing Jake is telling the truth. But the sweeter and sexier Jake is, the harder it is to keep her defenses up... and a weekend of passion may be just the thing Taylor needs to change her mind.

This book has really great chemistry! Rhyannon can really write a love scene. She is so good at having the hero worship the heroine that you fall a little in love with him yourself. I am definitely adding this to the keeper shelf!

I loved this book so much. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was sizzling! Whew! Girls your gonna need to turn on the air conditioning and have a cold drink handy. The love the hero has for her is amazing. I loved how he put EVERYTHING he had into convincing her that they belong together! This will be on my keeper shelf, and I know I will reread this book for many years to come. I can't wait to read other books by this author!

He refuses to blow it. So when his uncle calls him and lets him know that Taylor is single he is there. Taylor is ready for a sexual relationship since her marriage had a dull one. It was OK. That's the 2 star rating mean and it's exactly what I feel about this book.
It's a short hot read, but less is more, please. There's too much sex *ehm, coming for me..you know what that means*. At one point it felt unreal that the man could perform that often in a day, unless he took viagra or something LOL.
The writing is good, though. When you're in the mood for a good smut, this is it.

I love Rhyannon Byrd's work! Her stories are always hot, sexy, romantic, and just plain HOT however this one was not one of my favorites.. Taylor is not very trusting and unfortunately the story doesn't really explain the reason. Another thing is there is a thing as too much sex where it starts becoming unrealistic.. I mean he is what in his late twenties/ early thirties noone can get it up that many times..

This book has a couple of great characters, but they are fairly static. We never are given a reason why the heroine moves from inability to trust to trusting. The hero experiences no character growth at all.

That aside, there is little plot and hardly any setting. Jake has been away for a decade, and comes back for the girl he dreamed of in high school. Nowhere in the book does he come to understand her character, or her adult persona. Numerous instances of intercourse ensue, and after a weekend of screwing he convinces her to believe in his love for her and to marry him. That's the plot. All of it. One can almost hear the wacka-chicka-wacka-chicka porn movie soundtrack in the background.

Other than the mention of the model number of his truck, there is no setting. This book could have occurred in 1955 for all we are told.

Our heroine, Taylor, comes from a background of neglect and abuse. She has ended a marriage to a cheater. How does she come to trust?

There were more sexual incidents per chapter than in even a Lora Leigh or Jaid Black Ellora's Cave title. The only thing that kept me from labeling this as pure pornography is an epilogue showing them happy together years later.

A waste of my time.

The first book I ever read of Rhyannon Byrd, and to say I enjoyed the story would be an understatement! What to say? I couldn't think of appropriate words for it because probably all was said by book reviewers and other readers alike... But just to make my feelings known, I fell in love with the story itself... probably the characters or whatever...I loved the way that the character of Jake was so into Taylor more... it's so nice to read something that portrayed the guy as more smitten to the girl than the other way around...it really was cute! And what I especially liked about the story was that the readers were given a glimpse of Jake and Taylor’s past and gave us idea on what really occurred then so we could draw our own conclusions on the real status of their relationship. Not only was the story sweet but it really was an erotic read… as in meaning scorching-hot read! I hope you have a helluva of an imagination! ^_^

I'm not going to give this a rating as it is the first erotic novel I have ever read and I don't think I can judge whether it is a 'good' book or not. I think it will be my last I read of this genre!
The story was well written, had a good rhythm to it in that it kept going a very even pace (fast!). No slumps in the story-line. However, it was short (for me) in length. I was able to read it in about 3.5 hours.
I guess I must be more of a 'vanilla' reader in my romance. Or as I like to think of it, I like my romances more "feelings-driven" than sexually-driven. When I downloaded this I changed the c words (both of them) to one's I found a bit more palatable and there were over 200 changes!! Just a tad too much for me.
But I can see the attraction to this genre. It's just not my thing y'all.
PS have to give this a rating to get it posted so I give it a 3.5-4

Taylor Moore and Jake Farrel met in high school, and it was instant chemistry. But the lies of his best friend and her eventual husband, Mitch kept them apart.

Ten years later, Taylor divorces Mitch and Jake returns to claim what's his....namely Taylor. But because of Mitch's infidelity during their marriage, Taylor doesn't trust Jake's proclaimations of undying love and faithfulness.

The entire book takes place within a seventy-two hour period in which Taylor agrees to do whatever he says sexually as long as he doesn't say he loves her.

Easily read in one sitting, it's a rainy day type of book. Fairly simple plot with lots of hot steamy sex between page one and Taylor and Jake's Happily Ever After.

The story between Taylor and Jake is really sweet. I thought it was sad that they lost all those years without the other because of a bitter man who couldn't handle seeing them together. To think that they both spent ten years dreaming and yearning for the other but stayed apart is really heart breaking. But I wasn't worried by the end of the story because boy do they make up the lost time!! This was a great read but it was a bit too steamy and erotic for me but that's only because I wasn't expecting it, I usually just read paranormal and suspense romances. I still loved it and would recommend it any day to anyone who loves a sexy, hot read.

I've also read the Primal instinct series by Rhyannon Byrd and I though it was an EXCELLENT TOP series and is a MUST READ!! ;)

So,this is a fairly short book about two people who finally come together after 10 years of pining for the other. Jake basically spends the entire story trying to prove his trust-worthiness to Taylor. And she spends the whole time doubting herself and her worth because her Jerk ex-husband totally treated her horribly.

Jake was the ultimate romantic hero and didn't give up on her for one second. It was incredibly satisfying and very sexy. That's an understatement!! Talk about graphic sex scenes!! Not for the faint of heart. But fantastic nonetheless!!!

Totally adorable love story and erotically powerful. Loved it!!!

Erotic contemporary with a relationship driven plot. Second chance lovers - hero comes back to wed and bed [not in that order:] his own true love. Heroine still loves him but has serious issues left over from her ex who played the 'he said/she said' game to separate them originally. The hero decides a sexual marathon will convince her... It's a really good thing the hero and heroine are in really good shape because otherwise they would have sprained something, collapsed from exhaustion, died from exertion caused heart attacks or all of the above...

Cons:
-Yes, the scenes were hot but the inability to emotionally attach to the characters ruined it for me. The story simply wasn't enough to be believable.
-I can't believe I'm saying this but...it was just too vulgar for me. The dirty talk is great, if it fits in well with the scene. It just felt awkward for me. That's the only word I can think of.

Pros:
-This book has made me realize I'm getting getting pickier in my story content. Gonna have to continue cleaning up my "to read" list.

This story was one long sex-filled weekend in a motel between two people who had lusted after each other in high school ten years before. It was full of a dirty talking hero who wanted forever and a heroine who needed some passion and true love in her life. The sex in this books gets 5 stars, the story gets 2. So I settled with 3 stars.

holy hell, this is a HOT book. hard to get through without taking care of business (cough), if you know what I mean... but yeah, if you're not gonna get into a rage because of the minimal "plot" and want a fun, sexy read, this is for you. Rhyannon Byrd is also a great writer, so if you're picky like me with stuff like that, have no fear here.

I loved this book. From the beginning, Rhyannon Byrd grabs you with the story of Jake and Taylor's lost romance. Everything between them was hot and steamy. You could feel the passion they had for each other come off the page. I could not put the book down from page one.

This book was literally just sex scenes after sex scenes after sex scenes. These two just didn't take a break. Plot was weak (if there was even one at all). With so many sex there wasn't any plot to forward the story. Had to skim the last half of the book just to finish.

Disappointing *sad sigh*
