Serpouhi survived the death march of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Almost all of her family died of starvation. This book is the story of her ordeal told by herself in the late 1920s when she was studying nursing at Washington Sanitarium. She later served as a nurse in Avon Park, Florida until her retirement.

What they went through must never be forgotten. Sadly, in these times the numbers of people who have been torn away from home and family is multiplying.
