A comprehensive review of 6 of different philosophies. The books starts with an introduction about choosing your own philosophy. The introduction was the weakest chapter in my opinion. I am not sure why I got that impression but I believe that author’s perspective wasn’t deep enough. However, the following chapters were impressive. For each presented philosophy, the author tackled and discussed the core idea, components and approach in a robust, clear and to tge point way. As tge author clearly stated, he can’t discuss all the details of each philosophy and ignored some secondary components. But it was clear and enough to get an in-depth overview of selected philosophies. the author discussed Aristotle and his virtue, Buddhism and craving, Descartes and the doubt, Confucius and his community relations, Stoicism and accepting what you can’t control and Taoism and going with the natur’s flow, and other core concepts of each of these philosophies.
The book is an impressive as an introduction to understand some of famous philosophies in a fairly short time. Last chapter - the summary is really good when in rush or for later reference
