Devon's Deal is the third book in the Samson Boys series of interconnected standalones. This series does not have to be read in order but you would be doing yourself a disservice if you dont, because they were all amazing! Dare I say, I think Devon was my favorite out of the Samson brothers! I am a HUGE sucker for fake dating and this hit all the right marks for me. The added drama and forced proximity made this even better! I LOVED IT, and didn't take me long to finish at all!

Devon Samson's best friend Dan is getting married soon and he is cornered by Dan's fiancé Becky to answer if he's taking a plus one to the wedding or not - the problem is he's currently single and knows his ex girlfriend will be at said wedding with her new boyfriend. But to save face Devon tells Becky he will not only have a date but a girlfriend - only problem is he has no idea who he's bringing, all he knows is he needs to find someone or he will loose more than his pride. Except he waited until the last minute and he was out of options.

Shay is the bartender at the town bar Devon frequents, and after his brothers suggested he invite Shay he ran with it, only thing he needed to do now was convince Shay to be his fake girlfriend for an entire week. Shay was a bit hesitant but she was getting a week long trip, so how bad could it be right? except Devon wasn't just good looking and charming - he was so much more than she expected. They put on a show all week trying to convince the wedding party [especially Becky] that they were a real couple but ended up realizing they had more in common than they anticipated.

They both had huge personal baggage, hence why they were still single with no plans to change that. but the universe had other plans for them. Shay was heartbroken and refused to do anything serious and Devon was known around town as Mr. P*ssy so your typical ladies man. That made this fake couple plan sound perfect to both of them. It wasn't long before the lines of this plan began to blur and completely disappear with every passing day - honestly they didn't stand a chance lol

Now lets talk about the spice because HOLY SH*T - I was obsessed with both Devon and Shay! The dirty talk and spicy scenes were AMAZING and Mr P*ssy definitely lived up to his name ;D Shay definitely gave him a run for his money though and I loved that!! The chemistry was prenominal and I ate it up! I cannot recommend this enough!

Thank you to Stephanie Renee for eARC in exchange for an honest review.

After Devon and his girlfriend split up, he thinks it'll be no problem to get another one before his best mate's wedding. So much so, that he makes a deal with the bride to be that if he can't find a genuine girlfriend to bring to their wedding, then he'll have to pay 2 grand to cover the cost of the +1. When crunch time comes, he's at a loss and as a last resort asks the grumpy looking, badass, goth bartender from his local to accompany him. Shay has no problems playing along, and she'll sell it as hard as she can as well. After having her heart broken, all Shay is up for is some fun and a roll in the sheets. But after spending time together doing other things as well, they both start to wonder if maybe there's something more to their fake relationship...if only they'd let the other in.

I requested this book after reading the blurb for it, I've been a bit selective with my romance reads this year, I haven't stopped all together, but I'm not reading as much of them due to personal reasons. When I saw this one though, I had to request a copy! It's a grumpy/sunshine kinda vibe but the FMC is the one who doesn't want to let her walls down, which was a nice change as the books that I've read, it's normally the other way around. I expected this to be a fun, rom com kinda feels, and that's what I got, but I also got a lot more.

The story itself is told through alternating POVs between Shay and Devon. It's a simple, straight forward plot which made for easy reading, and I was absolutely hooked from literally page one. I can't even tell you why, I just became super invested from the get-go. It was such an easy read and the narrative just flowed so wonderfully. Legit a page turner that I could not put down. I even smashed out the last two chapters when I went outside at work the other day just because I had to see how it ended. While the story was easy to read, it did deal with slightly heavier topics that on the surface you may not have noticed it, but it was a lot deeper for me than what I was expecting it to be. Hearing about Devon's past relationship and Shay's as well, for some reason it just hit close to home, and it's probably because both of them sounded as though their previous real partners were narcissists, or at least had narcissistic tendencies. I could be reading too deeply into that, but that's what I got from it.

I absolutely adored both Devon and Shay. There was no grovelling, there was no misunderstanding, or third act break up or event. It was exactly what they said it was. A week away, pretending to be madly in love so that Devon didn't have to pay $2000 for his +1. I loved how organic their relationship was, even though it was a put on for the other guests as well as the rest of the wedding party. This was a classic case of opposites attract and I was so here for it. Devon is the ladies man, while Shay is the Goth chick who is not afraid to be herself. To be honest, the fact that Shay was a Goth chick actually sold me on needing to read this book. I'm an Elder Goth and it just spoke to me on so many levels. I loved how down to earth Shay was and I loved that this book, for me, really did illustrate the whole "don't judge a book by it's cover" thing. Shay is a badass, there's no doubt about it, but she's hilarious and she's not afraid to have fun and be silly. Which, in truth, that's what most of us are actually like. Inside the big goth boots, we've probably got Hello Kitty socks on. This story really did a fantastic job of showing why it's so important to get to know someone and not just base everything on their outward appearance. I also loved how wonderful of a person Devon was. At all times he told Shay that if she was uncomfortable with something, or didn't want to do something, to just say the word and they wouldn't. When he stood up for her, he actually went and apologised for being brutish because he knew that she could take care of herself. He's the dream guy to be honest hahaha. Yes there were times that I wanted to shake Shay and tell her to wake up and smell the man. But I could also understand her apprehension because she'd been terrible hurt, I've been there, and I know that I'm going to be quite guarded when it comes to meeting men in the future. So I could really sympathise with her, and I had to keep reminding myself, she was not aware of Devon's inner monologue like I was.

All in all, this was a super cute read and it had me smiling so many times throughout. I loved the characters, I even felt sorry for Devon's ex-girlfriend a time or two, but it quickly went away. It was a fast read, super easy and enjoyable. Oh! And the spice was top notch! Done well and spicy ;) I'll definitely be going back and reading the previous two books in this series as I think it'll be fun to get to know Devon's brothers! I look forward to reading more from Renee in the near future!

⚠️ SPOILERS ⚠️

This was my first Stephanie Renee book and I will definitely be going back to read the other Samson Boys books. This series can be read as a standalone so I read the 3rd one before the first 2. It was a quicker read for me, I couldn't put it down and finished it in one day. I loved how there was no angst in this book, there was very little drama and not me spending my heart in my stomach wondering if the couple would end up together. This is definitely an Instalove book with a HEA. It was the perfect combination of romance and spice.

Devon is a "playboy" who is known around town for his tongue skills. He got his heartbroken after a 3-year relationship with Kyra, which is how his reputation around town began. He didn't necessarily swear off relationships but he couldn't find the right girl. Which meant he wasn't going to be given a plus one for his best friend Dan's wedding. Dan's fiance (Becky) makes a deal and says he can bring a date if it's his girlfriend, and if not he has to pay for the would he dates meal. He has 6 months to find someone. But when 6 months comes, he's no where near finding anyone. So he has to come up with a plan.

Shay is a bartender at the bar that Devon frequents and one of the only women in town that he hasn't slept with. She has a "idgaf" attitude due to growing up with 2 dads and being a goth chick, she was used to being given dirty looks so she doesn't let much bother her. However, after a bad breakup in college, she's sworn off relationships. She never wants to be hurt again.

🩷 “If I got to call you my girlfriend, I’d consider myself one lucky son of a bitch.”

Devon approaches Shay about being his fake girlfriend for a week. She was hiring him to do some work on her house, so he offers a trade. He'll work for free if she plays girlfriend. Once they arrive at the wedding location, they get ready to head off to their room to get prepared for dinner. Shay realizes that she forgot to pack all of her underwear, and almost all of the clothing she did pack are dresses. Immediately she tells Devon, who can't get that out of his mind but vows to her that he'll make sure no one see's up her dress. During their first dinner with the bridal party, they have their first kiss. But the Bride isn't buying it, and doesn't think their relationship is real. The two of them agree that they will practice, which leads to a lot of spice. The Bride and Groom have a lot of activities planned for the week, and I loved seeing Shay and Devon let loose together, laugh and have fun.

Throughout the week multiple people point out to Shay that they can tell how much Devon loves her and how he never looked at his ex the way he looks at her but she doesn't believe it. I think Devon also fell first but Shay was quick behind him. When the week is up, the two of them part ways because neither of them thinks the other is interested. For 2 weeks the two of them are miserable without eachother. After ignoring most of his messages and calls, Shay finally reaches out to Devon (after a push from Becky) so she can tell him how she feels, and when he arrives he's quick to tell her first how he feels. I loved seeing Devon and his soft side, sure he had a reputation but he was sweet, caring, respectful and of course perfectly filthy. 🔥

🩷 "I’ll prove to her that she’s the only one I want or need. And I’ll prove it to her every day for the rest of our lives."

I thoroughly love reading fake relationship romances because they are usually full of laughs, good times, and fantastic banter. Ms. Renee delivers a storyline that you will be unable to put down. Devon's Deal had me turning page after age unable to put it down. The writing was gripping and the characters were so easy to love and relate to.
Shay and Devon are two people that you could say are friends who come to an agreement that benefits both of them. Devon needs a date to his best friend's wedding plus he doesn't want to go alone because his ex-girlfriend will be there with her boyfriend. Shay needs her kitchen remodeled and Devon is just the person that can do it. Even though the two of them seem like they are complete opposites, there was something there that had the both of them feeling a certain attraction to one another. There were rules and an agreement made that nothing would happen, but when you are stuck in a one-bed suite with someone who you are attracted to, how can you keep them? Not only are lines crossed, but those lines just keep moving and keep being crossed. Shay was one woman that you did not want to cross but she also was a woman that had her heart shattered and vowed never to let someone in it again. Devin got her to let down the walls that she had built around it and let him in. He was swoon-worthy with a dirty mouth. The two of them set the sheets and other things on fire, and talk about spice and fire.
I highly recommend grabbing this book and enjoy the banter, laughs and sexy times with Shay and Devon.

Devon’s Deal is the third book in the Samson boys series, but can be read as a standalone. This book center around Devon MMC and Shay FMC. We got to know Devon in the first two books of the series, so I was excited to read his book.

Devon is fresh from a break up from his ex who he was dating for 3 years. He has had his share of hookup since the break up, which got him a well know nickname around town. His best friend’s wedding is coming up and he needs a date. His ex girlfriend is attending the wedding with her new boyfriend and he doesn’t want to be solo at the wedding. That is when he ask Shay, a local bartender, to be his fake girlfriend for a week. For the wedding, Devon and Shay are required to leave for the week leading up to the wedding. While they are away both Devon and Shay decide to make the most of their time there and fully play into their fake relationship. 🔥 While at away for the wedding, Devin and Shay have to deal with Devon’s ex girlfriend and as a surprise Shay ex as well!

The fake dating troupe is easily one of my favorite and Stephanie Renee did this troupe justice! I am not one who usually like’s the “quick love” troupe but I this book I didn’t mind it!

The only thing the book included is a longer scene with
Shay and Devon’s ex! I would have loved to see Shay finally put her in her place for good!

I was given this ARC in exchange for my honest review and I 100% recommend you read it!

When Devon is told he can't take a plus one to his best friend's wedding, he kicks up a fuss. He's developed a bit of a reputation for being promiscuous since his ex dumped him, and the bride doesn't want his latest side piece partaking in the wedding. They come up with a deal that if he can find a girlfriend in time (six months until the wedding), then he can bring her along, but otherwise, he needs to pay the price for his plus one, which is £2000, and that's how Devon finds himself asking the barmaid of his local bar, Shay, to accompany him to the wedding and play his fake girlfriend.

Both Devon and Shay's characters were brilliant. I loved the banter between them both, and there was genuine interest and attraction, despite the fact Devon had never looked at Shay in that way before now. Shay's character is different from Devon's usual type; she's curvy, goth, alternative, has a dog that suffers from anxiety, and is basically just an amazing person, hence the nickname Sunshine. It's not just Devon that Shay fits in with; it would be so easy for her to be flustered when among his friend group, but she gets along with all of them, bar Devon's ex, who tries to belittle Shay but gets put in her place more than once. It's great to witness. They also have massive sexual chemistry, and their moments together are explosive, and I loved reading about their developing 'fake' relationship.

The fake dating trope is really hit or miss for me, and this was a home run! Devon bet his best friend's fiancee that he would have a girlfriend to bring as a date to their wedding after a nasty break up with a shared friend. But in typical man fashion, he put off even attempting to enter a relationship, seeking instead to sample all the goods without commitment the whole six months. Until, oops, I need a date crunch time! And it has to be a real "girlfriend" too! The thing about Devon is, though, you couldn't dislike him. He wasn't dating women and dumping them. He simply liked to have fun, and the women were totally down for hit it and quit it, probably having commitment issues of their own. LOL

Anyway, he decides to ask the spunky bartender who is a friendly face he's familiar with, and surprisingly, she says yes. That's just the tip of the iceberg, and the story that evolves is entertaining and sweet, with plenty of heat in and out of the sheets. I adored how playful they were with each other. Devon certainly knows how to please a woman, and Shay lets down her walls so Devon sees how amazing she is underneath her gruff exterior. The drama that comes along isn't over the top and adds just enough to keep things interesting. This reads like a real life story of fake dating turning genuine, and I really enjoyed it!

Devon has been invited to his best friend's wedding as the best man, but is told he can't bring a date. Even if his ex is bringing her new boyfriend, and the wedding is still 6 months away. They make a bet that if he has a real girlfriend, he can bring her. If not, he has to pay a $2k price tag. He thought he had time, but 6 months have passed, and he's no closer to having a girlfriend. His brother Duke suggests he ask the bartender, Shay, to go to the wedding with him in exchange for remodeling work. She agrees when she finds out about the bet with the bride. It's just a week of pretending, right? And dealing with his ex... What could go wrong? A lot, apparently.

The scene when he first gets to her kitchen was so funny, I read it out loud to my husband. Watching Shay take on Kyra was a thing of beauty. Watching Devon take care of Shay was beautiful. I loved this book.

I was hooked in the first few pages of this book. Fake dating/relationship is one of my favorite tropes because you know they are going to be falling for each other. This is the 3rd book in the series but a standalone. I did not read the other 2 books before and you won't miss anything if you don't either. But I may have to go back and read them now.
I think most of us could learn a thing or two from Shay on how not to care what others think of ourselves and embrace what makes us us. Shay has been hurt before and how that comes back I wasn't expecting it. She has chosen to block herself off after that relationship. Devon has a past relationship that messed him up and landed him in bed with whomever he could bring home.
The chemistry between these 2 was great and you could see how they would fall for each other.
This book has some spice to it as well. Devon certainly does live up to his nickname and rumors about him.
Definitely a good, spicy quick read and fake dating is a must read for me!

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a complimentary copy. This is the third book in the Samson's Boys series about Devon Samson and hay. Devon had a nasty break up with his ex girl friend so he is playing the field. His best friend Dan is getting married to Becky and he made a bet with Becky that he would have a girl friend as a plus one to the wedding. The wedding is litterally days away and Devon does not have a girl friend so he asks Shay a bartender that he knows to help him out by being his fake girl friend for the weekend wedding,

I really liked Shay is spunky, take no crap off anyone. She is hard working and like Devon she also had a nasty breakup. What these two did not count on being so close together is the smokin hot chemistry between them. Will Devon and Shay realize that their fake realtionship is not so fake anymore?.

Devon's Deal is a fake dating romance with all the the tension. Devon's invited to his best friend's wedding but no plus one unless it's a "serious" girlfriend. With his ex attending, he refuses to go solo... so he makes a deal with a curvy, tatted, pierced bartender who just wants her cabinets fixed. She's up front she doesn't do relationships, cuddles or anything that feels too close. Sex? sure but there's a wall of pillows between them at night.. at least at first. Now let's talk about Devon. The man's got a reputation for using his mouth like it's a sacred art form and it's not just talk. Oral skills? Hall of fame-worthy and she knows it. What makes this story work isn't just the steam and there's plenty of it. It's the respect. The consent. The way he checks in, backs off and still completely wrecks her. (in the best way). It's a fast read with heart, heat and a heroin who doesn't play games unless they're in bed.

I really enjoyed this story. Devon was one of Dan's groomsmen for his wedding, but his bride to be said she needed him to come alone or if he said he was bringing a girlfriend (not just a hookup), he would have to pay her $2000. It was a week's worth of wedding adventure. He hadn't found anyone so he asked Shay who was the bartender at his favorite bar. She said yes and off they went. She did have to get some clothes as she wore jeans and tshirts all the time. She understood that they would have to convince everyone that they were together. What neither expected was the hot chemistry they had. Devon lived up to his nickname and she loved it. It got complicated as Devon's ex and Shay's ex both were there and they all had words. They story moved along quickly and I loved it.

Devon’s best friend Dan is getting married to Becky. Single Devon wants a plus 1 for a wedding that is 6 months away, so he makes a bet with Becky that he will have a girlfriend by the wedding day. Devon is a notorious one night kind of guy and is known around town as Mr. P$$$Y. Why you ask 🤯 🤐. A few days before the wedding Devon is still single so he needs a plan and Shay the local bartender needs her kitchen redone for cheap.

This was my first introduction to this series and characters and boy did I love it. I loved Shay and her ability to not care what others thing about her and her quick comebacks. Devon was very likable from the beginning and boy is he trouble. Who knew forgetting your underwear would be 🥵. The spice in this book was top notch and did not disappoint. I was glad that both characters were able to get the answers they needed to be able to move on from their past.

This is book 3 in Renee's Samson Boys series and as I understand it, this series is interconnected, but can be read as a standalone - which is what I've done and now...now I have to read them all and everything by Renee. Wonderfully well written, this book was fantastic! Shay and Devon are our main characters, and one may think they are more opposites than anything but start off as friends - making a deal that benefits them both - rules are made and to be followed - only some would say rules are meant to be broken and with the mutual chemistry that is going on between these two - broken rules were inevitable. I adored these characters, the banter and all the laughs Renee brought in writing this book! I can't wait to see what Renee will write next - I'll be watching and waiting!

This is the 3rd book in the Samson Boys series featuring the charming fake relationship romance between Devon and Shay. Devon plays the field due to an ugly breakup with his ex girlfriend. When his best friend Dan is getting married to Becky he makes a bet with her that he will have a girlfriend to bring to the wedding as his plus one. With only days to spare and no girlfriend Devon asks Shay a bartender that he's friendly with to do him a favor and be his fake girlfriend for the wedding. After being hurt in the past Shay now has closed herself off so she can't be hurt again. Devon and Shay were perfect for each other and the chemistry between them was as natural as breathing. You really need to read this charming fake relationship romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Devon's Deal is a steamy, OTT, forced-proximity, fake relationship turned real romantic comedy. Devon is a hunky playboy. Shay is a sassy goth bartender. Devon's best friend is getting married, and he has told them he is bringing a girlfriend. He even has a bet with his best friend's fiancé on the same. When he doesn't have a girlfriend, he has to find a fake one. He asks Shay to go, and she is open to the same. She's got walls around her heart and is only looking to have fun, and he is a playboy, so it should be perfect. But what happens when real feelings become involved? This book was both funny and steamy. The characters had amazing chemistry, and after some hilarious events and drama, we got a happy ending. This was a great read. Now I need to read the first two books in the series!.

Faking dating to save money. Of course it should be fun Devon thought. Especially since his now ex was bringing a date, he couldn’t go alone. Except he didn’t ask anyone till the week before the wedding. He had no idea who he should ask or even take.

Until he was out drinking at the bar. And Shay the bartender came to mind. He had been putting her off anyways on helping remodel her kitchen. Maybe he could use that to help get his fake date.

Only they had no idea what was in store for them during the week or the wedding.

This was such a great turn of events for Devon and Shay! Go read it now!

- [ ] Honest review here!! I had no clue what to expect and when I read that the deal was for Devon to bring a girlfriend or pay 2 grand for his date I thought this was going to be super cheesy.
- [ ] Let me say I Stand fucking corrected and appalled at myself for not having an open mind lol. A week long trip with his fake girlfriend to prove they are in love and get back at his ex girlfriend….turns into a week of badassness from Shay and an understanding of why they call him Mr. Pu$$y!!!!
- [ ] For a short read, it gave back story, spice, HEA and so much more!! Would definitely recommend this!!

* Fake Dating
* Forced Proximity

This book is the 3rd book in the Samson Boys series. It was absolutely amazing just like the other two in the series. Devon makes a bet with his best friends bride and he waits until the last minute to find a date for their wedding week.. He asks Shay the bartender at his favorite bar to be his fake girlfriend. Shay accepts thinking it was a really good deal but didn't expect to run into her past. Shay and Devon have instant chemistry. Even if they both try to deny it. This was a really good read and if you like fake dating you should read this book.

Devon's Deal was a okay read to be honest I'm on the fence with this storyline if not for the heat level this would have been a good fit for a younger audience as the plot reminded me of a high school drama with the mean girls and the popular crowd it does have a few enjoyable moments between Shay and Devon that will make you laugh. Even though this wasn't a good fit for me personally read and form your on opinions.

Devon and Shay end up at his friend's wedding, after he needed a girlfriend at the last minute. She is a bartender that he knows. Both characters had very bad breakups in the last six months and had sworn off anything serious. The wedding weekend ignites fireworks between them and proves they are not so different, even though she is pretty much goth. Heartwarming reactions and revelations to what they find in each other. Terrific storyline that takes you on whirlwind romance to a great ending.

This is the third story in the "Samson Boys" series and stands alone. This one is about Devon and Shay. He is fairly fresh from a break up from his ex who he dated for three years. He has had fun sowing outs since the break up but now needs a plus one for his best friends wedding. His ex will be attending the wedding as well. He convinces Shay to be his fake. Shay has an unexpected surprise when she goes to the wedding. I like how this story develops and how their relationship grows. There are so lough out loud moments and some tender ones as well.

Okay, these Samson brothers are incredible! He’s a relationship guy at heart that was recently broken up with by his horrible ex. Now he’s just moving on from girl to girl. Until he needs a date for a week long wedding trip and he decides to ask Shay. Shay is a bartender who doesn’t do relationships because she had her heart broken. Now they are in a fake relationship at his best friend’s wedding, but their fake relationship quickly turn physical. And as the weeks goes on, it’s not just the bedroom that has sparks!

An ex, a bet, and a fake date to a wedding. What could go wrong?😂

"There’s no way I’m going to do something stupid like fall in love. No way in hell."

Famous last words...

If you love a dirty talking cinnamon roll carpenter plus a reverse grumpy sunshine, this story will melt your heart and your panties (if you are even wearing any).

Fake dating, a bit of grumpy/sunshine, and opposites attract! This book had so much tension! I loved Devon and Shay's relationship, though I really wish their emotions were heightened throughout the book. I love it when the characters develop enough to shift their mindset with a complete 180 (Devon not even bothering to get a lap dance at the strip club because he was fake dating Shay).

+ Closeness
+Pretend relationship
= Happy ending

While I loved reading this book you get the same as all other romance novels, while it was great that the MFC didn't hold out as long it was still the same. Big Love Big Argument Big Break-up and you can guess the rest. Still, it was a great read and I'm glad that it ending the way it did Devon and Shay deserved the ending.

I was not disappointed at all reading this. I
wasn't sure if I was going to like it but I was completely wrong.
I laughed, cried, got lost in the book. If you want a Happy Ever After
then this is perfect. I loved everything about Shay and Devon. You
can feel the emotions written within the book.
