This story had me on the edge of my seat. Suspense, mystery, foreshadowing and the passionate relationships all intertwined to form this emotional rollercoaster of a story. I need to have a discussion with this author about an appropriate level of grief for a protagonist and life expectancy of main characters! I also may have found myself picking up a Southern accent through literary immersion. I am absolutely loved this book! The cover-page review says it all, "Heart-wrenching".
A wonderful book that serves as a love letter to South Carolina. Drama, mystery, romance - this book has it all. The author guides us through Sarah’s life and examines the impact religion and mental health can have on relationships and, ultimately, how purposeful love can deliver us from the whims of a cruel god.
