A portrait of a marriage between two men, Tom Bianchi's latest book breaks new ground in the annals of photography. In it, Bianchi attempts to capture in photographs the love two people share and the joy they find in one another--a testament to the dignity of their being as well as the naturalness and goodness of love. I rediscovered this book after close to twenty years. I remember being a kid and looking through the books at Hastings and stumbling upon this one book of two men frolicking, hugging, kissing, and being astounded and confused but also deeply curious. Years later I requested this book through an ILL at my library, not realizing I would stumble upon these two men, decades later, long after I finally came out, and reflecting on how beautiful the serendipity of life could be.
The men in this book are beautiful and gay and so in love and it's wondrous to see that, even after all this time, and even after the couple in real life have separated, they can still leave me inspired for their love and passion.
Tom Bianchi is a beautiful artist who just leaves his subjects in a state of magnificent grace.
