He needed a perfect year. She needed a way out I sat at the helm of one of the most powerful companies in the world. CEO was my birthright, even if the board saddled me with a morality clause before I could permanently take over. Regardless of my behavior now, the darker corners of my past threatened my future. That was where Selena came in. Hired in secret by my overbearing sister, Selena was supposed to rehabilitate my salacious image. But her presence made me want to blur the lines between us. The more she pushed me away, the more I was pulled to her. She was a distraction. One I couldn’t afford. And I could afford just about anything. Selena There wasn’t a dirty secret on the Upper East Side I couldn’t clean up. That was until I made a mess of my own. Henry Amari’s account was my redemption, an easy image rehab, and my one-way ticket out of New York City for good. One goal. One year. One high-society CEO. To my delight, Henry Amari made the job easy. Too easy. He wasn’t anything like the man I thought he would be when his sister hired me in secret. Despite himself, he drew me in. But it didn’t matter. I knew from experience that fairytale endings didn’t happen in real life. People like me got lost in his world. Once my year was over, so was the fantasy he kept trying to pull me into.
The Heir is the second book in a series of interconnected standalones following the biotech billionaires. A happily ever after is guaranteed.
Ava is a USA Today Bestselling author and a desi-girl chasing HEAs
The daughter of two immigrants, her Indian-American roots peek out in different ways in her novels.
She writes diverse escapism. Flawed characters with real problems in an idealized world. Fall in love with the hero and the heroine. But also, fall in love with their friend group. Fall in love with their chosen families and the people who support them.
When she's not writing, she's living her best 'Charlotte Pickles' life and taking over the corporate world while being a wife and mom to an adorable kiddo and labradoodle. With hobbies from gardening to studying to being a sommelier, she's always looking for her next delicious treat.
Too spicy for my taste but really amazing. If you liked "Kings of Sin" by Ana Huang, you'll love this series. Henry is a real gentleman, and Selena is so relatable. Gonna hop to the next book -which is an arc.
Read if you like: - Workplace romance - Multicultural relationship - Steamy scenes - Found family - Billionaire romance - High society
This was another cute read from Ava I think I liked this one even more than the first book. The main characters Selena and Henry are thrown together when Selena is hired to manage Henry’s public image which is a mess. At first they don’t get along well but as they spend more time together the attraction and tension continues to grow. I liked the romance and the spice was not too much but just right once they finally got together. I love that gossip girl, high society backdrop in books and this gave me that. I really liked seeing the characters from book 1 my Sloan and Marcus heart was fed. The ending felt a little rushed but all the epilogues made up for it. Overall this is was a good and easy read. If you’re looking for a cozy romance with steam and billionaires then you should give this a try.
Thanks to Ava Rani and Goodgirls PR for this arc for an honest review.
4.5⭐️ | 3.5🌶 did this one mostly on audio. I wasn't sure about the make narrator but it was a great read nonetheless. Ana Huang girlies will eat this up. Henry and Selena. I'm giddy! I really enjoyed this. And that plot twist...damn. The spice on audio.... 😏🤭. I'm so ready for Xander's book.
biggest thanks to Good Girls PR for an advanced copy of this book.
The Heir is the second book in Biotech Billionaires series and releasing tomorrow (October 5th 2023)
another enjoyable and sweet romance book from Ava Rani.. i’m a sucker for protective and possesive hero and Ava Rani did an amazing job creating Henry Amari. i was impressed. i loved Selena’s character as well. her personality was so admirable.
this book was filled with so many cute and fluffy moments with the perfect amount of spice 🌶️ (the throne scene 😉iykyk)
i loved this book !! i would definitely recommend it to workplace/billionaire romance lovers out there. i’m pretty sure you don’t want to miss this one 💙
My Thoughts: I loved the publicist hired to rehab her billionaire boss’s image and falling in love instead! Our billionaire CEO had a lot to prove, both to his family, board, and himself. For him being a reformed playboy, I would have loved to understand more of that side of him, since he’s already on lockdown when the story starts.
These two had amazing chemistry and all of their scenes together sizzled! This was a very fast-paced read and I actually would have enjoyed a few scenes being longer so we could get into the minutiae of the relationship.
Overall, I’m very much enjoying this interconnected standalone series and will definitely be reading the third (and I’m assuming final) book.
Safe to say I found my new favorite billionaire romance series. Although these are interconnected standalones, I always recommend reading them in order because there are spoilers/easter eggs.
This story was very cute. Playboy turned serious CEO ready for committment, what a fun ride. Read this book if you love banter, spice, tension, work place romances, high-society drama (think gossip girl / succession).
Thank you so much to Avon & Ava Rani for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review. I CANNOT wait for book 3!
dnf @ 60% | blander than toast. probably would've enjoyed it more if i read book one first but if it says interconnected standalones, they should also be fun on their own!
3.75 ⭐️ picked by my irl mmc 😇 tbh the romance was sweet and cute but the whole billionaire talk and PR stuff kind of bored me or maybe it was because I indeed didn’t read the first book oops
this adorable romance features Henry, a billionaire playboy heir needing to clean up his fuckboy image with the help of his newly appointed PR rep, Selena. as they spend more and more time together, they begin to fall for each other
i felt like this was a perfect “cozy” romance — all of the stakes felt fairly low but not necessarily in a bad way.
Jaysus no. This is moving slower than paint drying on a wall. I searched cock and it said the first time cock appears is chapter 30. Dafuckeroo? Ain't no one got time for that!!! We not trying to be edged here all night long!!l we wanna get fucked aite?
She's some low level publicist and he sees her at his sisters 30th bday party looking bored. I'm guessing the premise is that shell be with him for a year to make him look good fro! His man whoring days 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 they talk about all the secondary characters way too fucking much and I'm tired of the main characters being Background noise.
All those arc reader reviews agent helping when they're saying this is a five star read. Maybe for them but this ain't five star quality.
Dnfed at 9%. Not gonna wait for chapter 30 to get to the fucking
The Heir is the second book in the Biotech Billionaires series and follows our tow main characters, Henry, the newly appointed CEO to his family's company, and Selena, the PR Manager hired to clean his image of his past transgressions. I enjoyed watching the two grow closer as they attended various events, galas, meetings, etc. From the minimal scenes we got of Henry in the previous book, The Spare, it was nice to see the true side of him. Selena's past was also super interesting to follow along as a working class woman thrust into the world of New York's elite.
Overall, I enjoyed the novel, though I wish that there was a little bit more liveliness to the plot and writing style. This series is more on the somber side of romance, so readers who are more into serious romances will definitely enjoy this book.
I enjoyed ever single page. It was percect! The romance, the characters, the twists… A romance book that’s also mature yet funny!
The MMC is such an OG book boyfriend!!!❤️ (he’s probably in my TOP 3☺️)
Sum & Tropes: - workplace romance - spicy 🌶️ - funny - protective boyfriend & gentleman with spice to him - strong female lead - dual POV - gossip girl vibez
Few of my fav quotes: - “just because you were friends as kids doesn’t mean you owe her your happiness”
- “maybe it’s not worth worrying over people who have never worried about you”
- “Of all the many privileges I was given in life, her love was the greatest. And I would spend the rest of time making sure I was worthy of it.”
* this is the 2nd book of a series - could be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the 1st book to get a better outlook on the characters & their dinamycs
Henry Amari the man that you are. I will never hate you. I did this as an audiobook and it was perfection. Vikas Adam and Stacy Gonzalez were Henry and Selena. I loved their expressive voices and I was invested. This is a workplace romance between PR consultant Selena and Henry the billionaire. He’s a reformed playboy who needs to behave for a year to secure his new CEO position in his family’s business. Selena is there to help. However, things get interesting as they realize they have feelings for each other. I really liked this story and all the subplots about family, friends, corporate takeovers and classism. There was a point I was so invested that I had such anxiety during a serious part that I needed to stop and silently scream. I loved that Henry is part Indian and Selena is Latinx. This is the couple we need and deserve. Love the book and it could be my favorite in the trilogy.
I think this is a fantastic series to read for anyone who enjoys a billionaire romance. The mmc is the new CEO of his family’s company trying to prove himself for the position when she gets hired to be his PR agent to make sure no bad press gets out about him. I loved seeing yen get to know each other and try to say it was because of work when they really were drawn to each other. The mmc was a sort of classic billionaire with expecting to never fall in love but underneath super sweet and caring. I found the fmc to be very likable.
I’m excited to continue reading with the next book! While it’s a series I think you can read them all standalone.
While I didn’t dislike this book, I struggled to connect with the characters and the plot. It ended up feeling a little surface level and flat for me. I did really like Henry—his internal dialogue was probably the deepest part of the book—and enjoyed watching him yearn for Selena in the beginning. Sadly, I just didn’t find the chemistry to be believable which took away from my overall enjoyment of this book. The ideas were there, but sadly not the execution :( I will probably try another book by this author down the line as I do think there is potential!
Workplace Romance Secret dating Billionaire romance Found family Spicy Dual POV - 1st person POV
Dual narration - Vikas Adam & Stacy Gonzalez
Book 2 Biotech Billionares
Slow burn romance but in the best way. Fantastic banter. The spice was delicious I gobbled this book up!
Selena your a bad add don’t forget it! Henry was a praise king giving her so many “good girls” throughout this story. She’s his publicist to rehab his image.
I truly enjoy Ava Rani’s writing style. I find it enjoyable, easy to follow, and absolutely bingeable
rep: indian-american mmc, latina fmc (mexican-colombian)
honestly this was really cute! it was also a very fast easy read and entertaining, and i liked the yearning aspect in the slow burn! a man who yearns is a man who earns 🙂↕️ but besides that, i wasn’t as obsessed as i was with the first one tbh
i think xander is gonna be my fav tho, bc OMFG he is not only a golden retriever BUT ALSO A GENIUS?!!! AND GOOFY?!! YEAH SIGN ME TF UP
Henry & Selena are 😍 Selena was so relatable and real I loved her! Henry stepped up in the best way! The character growth oh and the possessive yet caring attitude he had was ❤️🔥! Loved this book and not wait to read book 3!
Henry was absolutely everything. And the way he took care of his girl was amazing. There is just so much I loved about this billionaire romance I don’t even know where to start and end. But basically go read it. Like for real. Go read it.
