Great reference for traders
I have been trading for over two decades. I highly recommend this book for traders of all levels. I lost a lot of money because of ignorance of the principles and strategies taught in this book. This book will guide you to become successful at trading. My favorite quote is, "successful traders using technical analysis trade with a bias toward the long-term trend. It has had a long time to establish itself, and it will take a large surge of momentum to change its direction." There is a world of difference when you follow technical knowledge and tools as taught in this great book. I highly recommend it.

interesting point about marketing
This book is a great helper for who want to learn how to improve your comprehension and learn the technical skills for marketing functions. Very informative . Has the information how to use the tools to get a better result in game market. I like the technique analysis the way helps to identify the direction of the price movement of a financial asset. My first book on trading and I’m glad I started with an overview like this. I’m sure it’s not the only book on TA I will need if I continue towards trading but it’s certainly a very good précis and valuable reference book.
It’s written in a simple conversational way with examples (often un relatable about “famous” traders who made millions) which mention the techniques he describes but often I found them interesting but distracting and only half the story … and often I couldn’t see how they fitted in. Specifically
The descriptions of most of the analysis tools were clear although some of the pictures weren’t as he says “see below” when it’s on the next page or he swings the other way and is super descriptive about something to the point of being obvious. Then soddenly he’ll go into highly technical language and abbreviations and I’m not sure I learned them yet. That’s my memory though.
So varied educational style.
He is repetitive which I usually find really annoying and a naive way of writing but in this book I actually appreciated it as he was reinforcing the risks of trading and how you should trade within your means (then talking about trades of millions of dollars) and Stick to your strategy, and without diligence you could lose money.
However, with all the book read it’s funny to me that it often says about analysis “the market can go up or down” - well yes, they are the two options and with all the analysis it is more or less guesswork. Yes analysis can make your guess more LIKELY but it makes me laugh when people talk about trading so confidently about their lines and resistance and fibbonacvi etc and then say, “so here it could go up or down, I think it will go up, but it could go down.”
That’s the issue isn’t it ?
The hardest part for me is finding a platform that isn’t super expensive, doesn’t have spreads wide enough to drive a car through, commission for every trade (in and out) messy unhelpful layout in % rather than £/$ amounts OR it doesn’t have trailing stops!!
A section of choosing good platforms would have been useful. Overall I though the book helpful and I learned a lot. Thankfully it’s laid out in dip-in-and-out-able sections which makes it better for a newbie and not great at retaining information type of person as I know I’ll need repeated explanation.

Easy read, with confusing information particularly on the wedges
Charts are presented clearly. I like key takeaways.
Some pages have different fonts/formats which is a bit distracting.
Also on the falling and rising wedge patterns, the charts are correct, but the written information tells us otherwise. Does the falling wedge signal bearish trend and rising wedge signal a bullish trend like what the book said?

Complicated systems made simple
This book was a real game changer for me. I started trading based on rumors and instinct. I had some success but I could never repeat the success. This book helped me find a system that will help me find my path to proper stock trading. I can highly recommend this book to you.

disappointing
Lots of mistakes. Difficult to trust when mistakes are so obvious (ex. Risk reward ratio example calculation). Much is worded but not demonstrated- author stopped using images after a while. Says too much like an encyclopedia but without insight. Pretty disappointed. Definitely not the only ta book.

Great book if you want to start trading
Very well written with good examples. All concepts are explained in a very simple manner. If you are getting into trading this is a good book to start with. It is not the end all and be all for trading but the first step in your learning journey

Excellent Read!
Brian covers the essential parts of technical analysis that is needed to trade in any market. You could read the book again or keep it close by as a reference guide.
Using technical analysis along with fundamental and market analysis is the keys to success, as stated in the book.

New to Technical Analysis

not the only but one of the best
This book has everything you need to know about technical trading, but I feel that the the author rushed the last couple of chapters. However, an excellent reference and I highly recommend it.

This was a great read. Easy to follow and full of insightful information. The author expanded on a lot of information we hear about in the stock world and included plenty of examples and charts to drive the info home. Great tips and insights. Def recommend.

Informative and Instructive
The guidelines discussed are invaluable. Although much of the analysis can be confusing, the basis of the lessons in each chapter are useful.
