Thirteen years ago I fell for the wrong person and swore I’d never let another woman into my heart. Ever since, I’ve lived on a diet of bunnies and casual sex.
That was until Francesca Danvers walked into my life. The sister of my team Captain’s fiancée, her Maid of Honor to my Best Man.
She’s my match in every stubborn way. Boiling my blood during the day, lighting me on fire at night.
It took her forty eight hours to get under my skin, but turned out she’d been there all along.
I never meant to fall in love. Just like I never meant to mess it all up.
Now I just have to convince her I’m in love for good and we’re playing for keeps.

Lulu started writing by accident, and somehow found herself stuck in a fictional world of ice hockey, baseball and billionaires. A world she has no plans to leave. She's the creator of The New York Players Series, The Tuesday Club Series, and The New York Lions - the worst team in the M.L.B.

More recently she's ventured across the Atlantic to where her latest novel is set - the beautiful cities of Oxford and Cambridge, and the annual rowing showdown on the River Thames.

She's a big fan of strong heroines, because those fierce alphas need someone to keep them in check. You'll find her navigating her way through Romance Land one HEA at a time, and trying to figure out the latest social media platform she needs to post to.

no coming back from cheating 🤷🏼‍♀️

Spoiler: How one plot piece ruins entire book……. MC was actively trying to get back in FC good graces after he had messed up and yet just weeks into his groveling went drunk to a s@x club. he was sending daily flowers to FC. Yet he went to cheat. Drunk or not he knew going in that club he was there to get laid, not just watch dancers. He literally told the dude at door “no brunettes”……… and when his lap dance is his stripper f@ck buddy that he has gone to the “back rooms” with before, he just sits there after greeting her while she starts on him. Just because he stopped her and didn’t physically react to her and “got sick” afterwards means nothing. Actually it does mean something. It means he knew he was wrong all along. What great friends of his that took him there knowing he was trying to sort with things out with love of his life!!! And yet he stays friends with these wonderfully supportive teammates….. Pictures get leaked, FC finds out and yet after he sends her a playlist and a love letter and charters a jet to bring her to him its all ok??? Ummm the world knows what he did and all of their friends and family know and she literally has s@x with him the day she sees him again which is like just two weeks later. She has been devastated this entire two weeks, heartbroken to where she can’t even bathe… and yet poof! Takes him back same day. For once could the author put just a little dose of real groveling in a situation like that? Like hmmmm him posting publicly on Instagram groveling quotes about owning up And acknowledges the hurt caused and the wrong behavior (in book he is public figure and has an Instagram it’s how she sees pictures with woman he is tagged in them and its in papers) and hmmmmmmm maybe a month or two at least of just dating and rebuilding trust????????? He was intimate with a s@x worker!!!!! And it went public!!!!

Holy Mary Mother of God what have I just read?? Cooper effing Marks is a god among men and I am here for it. The man is pure sex, and he will have you needing a cold shower more than once while reading this book.

Firstly if you don’t already know her can I please introduce you to Lulu Moore the author of one of the best romance series I’ve had the pleasure of reading.

Secondly let me tell you about this book. A few days ago I read the first in Moore’s New York Players series entitled Jasper. It was good. A sweet and cute romance that was a slow burn. I fell hard for all the characters, and had such a good feeling that this was a group of friends I was already gonna love hanging out without. Note I was not wrong. Now as much as Jasper was sweet and cute and Wolfie and was a fun heroine. I just didn’t love them. But I still wanted to read more about the Players. So I bought Cooper and let’s just say I was not disappointed.

Cooper is swoon-tastic. He is brooding, jealous and strong willed. And let’s just say I looove his bossy side (insert cold shower here) And what he does for Freddie in the end to win her heart. BE STILL MY BEATING HEART. Sigh - I’d be putty in his hands. And so is Freddie, but we need to talk more about Freddie. She is so fiery and has so much sass she is my hero. She doesn’t let anyone walk over her but she also has a vulnerable side. Like I said she’s perfect.
Now, if you’ve read the first book, you’ll know something was simmering between Coop & Freddie. But if the first one was simmering, then this one is full on boiling over!! The steam is strong with this one my friends. For example Chapters 8 and 13 …. were some of the best sex scenes I’ve read! Ever!!
I wouldn’t mind Cooper’s shoes under my bed on any given day let me tell you!

My favourite part was seeing the different sides of Cooper with Freddie, especially the storm.

And Felix and Drew trying to help Cooper in his hour of need was just typical of them wasn’t it? Especially Felix. It was bound to go wrong.

There’s not one character I dislike, everyone is so rounded as characters, with their own stories I want to read. So on that note I’m going to buy the next one which is Drew and already I know he’s going to be so dreamy!

What I love about Moore’s writing is the believability. She writes a good romance with a splash of drama but it’s believable drama. It’s not out there that you have to suspend belief. There’s a good dollop of humour too, and her female characters… all strong. You won’t find any wet lettuces who make dumb decisions here.

Also the story of Jasper and Wolfie continued in this book which is what I want in my romance series’. I really want it. And there’s a scattering of breadcrumbs for the other character’s stories too!

And let me finish with the epilogue. Perfect. That’s how you do an epilogue.

3.5 stars.

He slid his hands under the elastic, pushing them down and chucked them to the side letting himself spring free. And spring he did.
My very own Jack-in-a-Box. 😂🍆

First time reading from this new to me author, and i gotta say i had some rollercoaster moments while reading this, the smut was so hot and the dirty talk was filthy. Yet at moments Cooper was too dominant and possessive over someone he was only "sleeping with" it kinda got on my nerves but i liked Francesca being really sassy and holding her own. Wished the storyline was not so centered around the wedding tho i felt like this book was shared with Jasper and Wolfie alot. Also wished we could have known more about Cooper's past. Some stuff was kinda rushed but i so enjoyed the groveling from Cooper and seeing both MC's sad i like that a lot in my storyline. Overall a decent read.

Wow! Cooper and Freddie were pure fire. They set my kindle alight & I was so here for it!

I loved the push & pull. I adored Cooper and all his alpha possessiveness. Freddie was no pushover & was his perfect match with her feistiness.

My favourite part was Cooper’s playlist. And that’s all I’ll say about that, because I don’t want to give away any spoilers. You need to read this for yourself.

A fab read & now I’m excited for Drew’s story. Bring it on!

*Reread in audio July 2025. The playlist is still one of my favorite things 🥹

Original Review:

I first met Cooper & Freddie in The Secret along with Jasper & Wolfie. I loved Murray’s sisters so much that I had to go back and read the series that started it all. I loved Jasper and Cooper was just as good and a bit spicier!

Below are a few of my favorite things about the book:

Cooper: OMG! I want him to whisper dirty things to me in French
Feisty Freddie (Tiny): She is my soul sister (I would love to bond over a pint of Phish food!)
Supporting Cast: The Williams Family, Jasper & Wolfie (I loved seeing more of them)
Future Books: The well is deep - Drew, Felix, Molly (I’m so excited to read more!) Would love to see more of Brogan & Olivia…
Murray, Murray, Murray – How is it possible that I love him more after this book?? I’m glad I read his book first because I could not have waited
Steamy scenes: the bubble, the laundry room, the countertop, Freddie’s old bedroom, the forest
Sweet scenes: Friends reruns, mac & cheese, the shower
The letter & playlist: Hands down one of the best things I have ever read

Highly recommend it. Available in KU.

By far one of the best romance novels I have read in a long time! This started out sooo strong and just got better. I was afraid it peaked kind of early since most romance novels have angst in the beginning that fizzles, but the angst in the second half was too good not to devour in a few hours.

Cooper was flawed but so swoon worthy. Freddie was feisty and strong. I LOVED both characters, especially Freddie. Girl was on fire and I lived for her spirit!

It feels wrong to say this, but there was a tiny bit too much smut in the beginning for my taste. I wanted the story to progress, but the smut was good so my complaints are worthless.

I recommend reading Jasper prior to Cooper. You can 100% enjoy this book as a standalone, but the groundwork is laid in the first novel and it got me excited for this story. The couple get together earlier in this one than the previous, so it will be even more fulfilling if you start the series in order.

4.5 stars, but I am rounding up because the flaws are tiny and personal to my tastes. Lulu Moore is an excellent writer and storyteller.

Cooper is everything! A sexy alpha, hockey playing, best man and a determined, confident, Sister-Maid of honour, a steamy washing machine scene and a once broken heart, all add up to a 5 star read. I loved this book. A duel POV with a HEA, Cooper is the perfect follow up to Jasper, Lulu Moore’s beautifully written 1st New York Players novel. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

COOPER MF MARKS. My favorite French man. I LOVE HIM WITH ALL MY HEART. He was so gentle and caring and patient with Freddie. Especially when she had a breakdown while there was thunder. I love a man who can show emotion and can cry in front of his woman. Towards the end I was So unbelievably mad at him for leaving her when she told him that she loved him. I could have punched him in the face- Murray already did that for me- it was such a dick move that he literally did close to nothing and practically wasted a month of not seeing her. And then I’m so pissed at Drew and Felix for going in that stupid strip club and that woman put her boobs in his face and some other asshole took a Foto of them and posting it to Insta and of cause Freddie saw that and was so heartbroken. BUT THE END WHERE HE WROTE HER A LOVE LETTER AND MADE HER A SPOTIFY PLAYLIST😭🤭🥰 SO FUCKING CUTE.
AND THEN THE EPILOGUE🤰🏻🤰🏻🤰🏻🤰🏻🤰🏻 SHE IS PREGNANT. AND WOLFIE TOO. OMFG IM SO HAPPY
And again their bromance keeps on going and is as strong as ever. I really admire Freddie’s and Wolfie’s Friendship i wish I had that friendship and bond with someone.
Not to forget he proposed to her on the plane on their way to Italy to celebrate Freddie’s birthday AND then decided randomly to get married. I HAD AND STILL HAVE BUTTERFLIES WHILE AND AFTER READING IT. 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
IT WAS ALSO SO HOT MY GOSH
It was crazy how most of the book played in only a week even tho it felt like months.
It might be that I loved Cooper a teeny tiny bit more than Jasper. But of cause Jasper and Wolfie are and always be the OG couple in this series

Freddie and Cooper are my new number one couple.
I adored their story and how perfect they are for
each other. All of the characters compliment the
story and it was lovely to get another glimpse at
Jasper and Wolfie! After a few dark reads this was
exactly what I needed to lighten the mood! Coopers
dirty talk is also quite delicious!

Hockey romance, friends to lovers

It was good, I think the banter was still maybe just a little better than OK. Good spice. The French was 🥵. A fun lil sports romance. But the third act break up and the effort Cooper made for the first couple weeks were - poor effort. That’s the best he could come up with? Meh. On to the next. Really just care about Drew at this point.

Oh my gravy!!! Two words: Cooper’s playlist.

Everything about this book was beyond amazing! Off the charts sexy, sweet, swoon worthy, with the perfect amount of heartache. Which you totally need in a romance novel! I think I highlighted 3/4 of the book! Ha! This is a must read. Awesome characters, great storyline. Lulu, as usual, did a phenomenal job!

Oh my god! I will be reading this series over and over. I’m obsessed with any good hockey romance and this one takes the cake! I loved Jaspers story but I spent the whole book waiting until I could read Cooper and Freddie. This first duo is full of fire and ANY book that includes a soundtrack/soundtrack theme is automatically a winner in my mind. This duo was destined to bring tears and feels and literal OUT LOUD laughter.
Huge fan and can’t wait to read the next one!

Ok. Cooper freaking Marks . Shall I list the reasons I would happily call this man, daddy? 1) Broody and moody. 2) Speaks french. 3) Vague allusions to the FMC about not being 'ready to handle him.' 4) Obsessive and possessive - 'touch her and I'll kill you' vibes. 5) Deep down heart of gold and would do anything for his woman. Now, did I give you enough reasons to love Cooper?

Just wait, Freddie is even better. She is so fierce and has a 'take no shit' attitude. Which Cooper definitely needs from time to time (almost all the time.) This woman knows who she is, unapologetically. She's overcome massive amounts of trauma and a world of sadness and loves everyone around her so well.

The tension between these two characters is SO GOOD. The spice starts early and it doesn't let up. I love this story and I can't wait to continue with the next two books in the series!

Steam: 5/5🔥

Ok. Here we are with book 2 in the series by @lulumoorebooks and damnnnnnnnn 😱

Cooper and Freddie’s relationship is amazing.

Cooper has it all. Charm, looks, personality and bossiness. He knows what he wants. He says what any woman would dream of hearing. But backs it up with actions. Until he’s a big ‘ol dope and gets scared.

Freddie is my spirit animal. She’s bossy when needed, determined, loyal and a bad ass. She has been through trauma that makes loving hard. But when someone breaks down your walls, it’s hard to try and rebuild them. Especially knowing how much you don’t want to.

This book is full of steam and dominance but in the best way! Totally worth the read.

COOPER! He’s my favorite of Murray’s brother-in-laws because goodness this man is spicy personified. I loved this book. There was so much we didn’t know about Freddie. I also love how different all the books feel. Knowing a bit of their personality from Murray’s book, their romances feel very genuine to their characters. It makes sense that Freddie would get to the spice earlier than Wolfie. I adored watching Cooper fall. A possessive Cooper is everything. Can’t wait to see what Drew and Felix get up to!

I was so excited to read this book. Friends to lover is not always my favorite trope but I wanted to know Freddie’s story. It was a selfish want because my daughter’s name is Francesca and I was wondering how Freddie got her nickname. Though it’s not normally my favorite trope this book is one of my favorite book in the series. Cooper Marks is one of my top choices for book boyfriends! Lulu added the spice in this book!

She is an interior designer planning the wedding of her best friend. He is a professional hockey player and the best man of the wedding. A friendship is blooming between them but could it lead to more?

Freddie lives in England and owns her own business as an interior designer. Last year her sister fell in love with a hockey player from the United States. Now they are getting married and Freddie has been tasked with planning all the details. Freddie met the best man, Cooper, several months ago which turned into a kind of friendship. Now they are working as a team for the wedding but can't deny the attraction between them.

Cooper is more than a hockey player. He has several interesting layers that make him more than just a jock. He is thrilled for his best friend to marry the love of his life, but after making a huge mistake regarding his own broken marriage over a decade before, he has zero interest in ever marrying again. When he arrives in England to help plan his friend's wedding, he is looking forward to the events and hanging out with his new friend, Freddie. But when she makes an impulsive choice to get her out of an awkward situation, Cooper is left upset and conflicted.

Freddie accidentally flipped a switch in Cooper's easy going nature. Now things are different between them and she feels off balance. She is now aware how attracted she is to the best man, and she suspects he feels the same. As the wedding week passes Freddie and Cooper are distracted by each other and try to hide it from their friends. As things get more intense, the two make impulsive choices hurting each other which have the potential to never be fixed.

Dual POV, friends to lovers, smutty spicy.

Everything I loved about book one is opposite in this book. This story has several red flags from both characters for me. Both MCs could benefit from therapy. I appreciate the details that these two are friends for several months before they begin an intimate relationship but the details are still problematic for me. One moment after the messy 3rd quarter conflict was a major "ick" from me and the reason I took one of the stars. (If you've read the book you know what that moment is). Freddie is emotionally immature and makes poor decisions, especially concerning men. Cooper is hot and cold with Freddie for most of the book. I was pulled into this series because I loved Jasper and Wolfie and was disappointed when this was a very different theme. What is treated with reverence in book one is handled flippantly in book two. The poor choices by Drew and Felix make me extremely hesitant to read their stories moving forward if it will be more of the same problematic themes. I did appreciate the details that made Freddie and Cooper bond. I would have liked more scenes between them in a mentally and emotionally healthy place. There is a HEA and a nice Epilogue.

Bonus: Jasper and Wolfie get married and feature as secondary characters.

Easily 5 Stars!

Okay, what really can I say? This series just keeps getting better and better. In Jasper, we experienced a slow burn - if you will - of a true love story evolve, but with Cooper, it is - balls to the wall, right out of the gate, one domineering male sex god and one feisty little British hellion. They are seriously perfectly matched. The chemistry is electric, the sex is HOT, the bickering is addicting and the love, man the love is that forever type of love we all wish we could find.

Some of my favourite one-liner takeaways:

~ "You're my Wonderwall, Tiny." (Cooper)
~ "When you kissed me you jump started my heart again..."
~ "I love you with all my heart and soul. Forever."
~ "I fucking love love."

AND the best one - in my opinion anyway, "Tu me manques'" OR "You are missing from me." ~ Like steal my heart and shatter my soul. This one got me all up in my feels!! Absolutely brilliant!!

Man, I just love this series. Lulu Moore can write. She has me hooked in this New York Rangers Series. Give it a go, I promise it's been one of the best sports romances I've read in a while.

Until next time, onto Drew now!

spicy friends to lovers

I think I’m torn between 3.5 stars and 4 stars. So maybe a 3.75 stars for this spicy friends to lovers romance.

Freddie and cooper have been friends for almost a year, but they live in different countries. But when it’s time for their best friends to get married, they’re forced to work together to help the wedding go off with a hitch. The forced proximity shows them the chemistry they have isn’t in their imagination and they have an explosive week that leaves them wondering if it could be more.

The banter between Freddie and Cooper was so fun. They knew how to push each others buttons while also being able to comfort the other when needed. I love the group friend relationships and dynamics in these books!

I think my big struggle with this book was coopers actions during the third act breakup. And some of his friends encouraging those actions. He just didn’t think through what he was doing.

His grand gesture though was sweet!

Tropes:
Professional hockey romance
Friends to lovers
Jealous/possessive MMC
Feisty FMC
He cooks for her
Music is their love language

This is Lulu Moore's second book in this series and I absolutely loved it.

From start to finish it immediately had my attention captured.

New York Rangers football player, Cooper and interior designer, Freddie are friends who met when Freddie's sister became engaged to Cooper's best friend. He is the best man at their wedding and she is the maid of honour.

When the week of the wedding comes around, things immediately heat up between them, but both of them are guarding their hearts as Cooper had had his heart burnt in the past and Freddie as she does not want to be taken for granted.

Freddie is sassy and stubborn and tries to fight her attraction for Cooper when he pursues her and she ends up falling hard for him.

Their story will fill you with warmth and at times a bit of sadness but ultimately will have a HEA.

Lulu's next book cannot come quick enough.

Get ready to for more laughs and emotional moments with this book. So we met Cooper in the previous book. He is Jasper's best friend and Freddie is Wolfie's sister/friend. So this relationship has been slowly building. We get Cooper who is one possessive alpha male. He is smart, athletic and there is more to him than people know. Now Freddie on the other hand, she is a free spirit and strong willed. Unfortunately she does not have the best luck with men. When these two are around each other, it can be hot and sweet or explosive. I am not going to lie and say your are not going to sweat. I mean it when I say it is hot. It is funny how these two can get under each others skin but at the same time you know they are meant for each other. So who will be the one to mess up or will they get a happily ever after. Grab your copy to find out what happens.

Amazing Hockey Romance

I absolutely loved Cooper & Frankie’s story! I have a serious weakness for hockey romances & this one was was so good!

As the best man and maid of honor for their friends wedding, Cooper & Frankie have been talking a lot over the last few months. This has created a strong friendship between the two. But friendship isn’t enough for either one. Will their stubbornness get in the way? Or will they find their HEA?

These two are amazing together. They are very similar and therefore it causes them to push the other individual outside of their comfort zone. I also really loved seeing the continuation of Wolfie and Jasper’s story. Another great hockey romance and definitely a must read!

Loved it!

I really enjoyed this book, loved that it kicks off straight where Wolf and Jas’s book finished and has all the crew in this book too - yes all those hot AF hockey players. It was great to get to know the other players in more detail - Felix and Drew were my favs. Also Freddie’s brother was great in this book too (love to see a spin off about him and his move)
I loved Freddie, she is such a great character. Loved her stubbornness and sass.
This book has great steam, sexual tension and push and pull. Also a few great twists.
This book was well written, the detail and the characters inner monologue had me not putting the book down until the very last word.
