I have a secret. Twelve years ago I crushed on my teammate’s little sister, before firmly putting her in the friend zone. Which then became the best friend zone. And my teammate became more of a brother. But now we have two problems. 1. I just found out she’s been crushing on me too, and my feelings have come hurtling back like a puck heading for the net 2. She’s my doctor and I’m her patient So we have some hurdles to get through. And I need to convince Doctor Molly Marks that we’re worth the fight. That love is enough. Because this isn’t a game I plan on losing.
Lulu started writing by accident, and somehow found herself stuck in a fictional world of ice hockey, baseball and billionaires. A world she has no plans to leave. She's the creator of The New York Players Series, The Tuesday Club Series, and The New York Lions - the worst team in the M.L.B.
More recently she's ventured across the Atlantic to where her latest novel is set - the beautiful cities of Oxford and Cambridge, and the annual rowing showdown on the River Thames.
She's a big fan of strong heroines, because those fierce alphas need someone to keep them in check. You'll find her navigating her way through Romance Land one HEA at a time, and trying to figure out the latest social media platform she needs to post to.
This a friend's to lovers romance, with a sweet hero.
I really enjoyed this book, it was my favorite of this author but still great. My only complaint is the couple gets together too fast, I want them wanting to be together but not being able to.
P.S.: in case Lulu reads this, I need a friend's to enemies romance, and an epistolary romance :)
One word that sums up Felix Cleverly? Perfect One word that sums up Molly Marks? Perfect
One word to sum up Lulu Moore’s 4th Book in The New York Players series?? Perfection
I’ll be the first to say that the first book in this series wasn’t one I particularly loved. But a friend had recommended it to me and I decided I’d carry on with the series. And I’m so glad I did. Every book since has been better than the last.
Jasper was cute and slow burn Cooper was primal and sexy af Drew was intense and hot AND FELIX!?! Felix was everything a guy should be. Patient, loyal, supportive .. all in. He was delicious. And he’s got a good little bit of dirty talk.. wink wink. He’s also hilarious with his inner monologues!
And as for Molly, she’s a stubborn, kick ass female that screws up and has so much self doubt I wanted to cuddle her and be her best friend. I feel so sorry for her. Always being seen as the baby sister even though she’s this strong female who has a great career that she’s worked hard for. And even though Cooper and the gang know this they don’t recognise it like Felix ! Ohh I’m swooning hard right now.
The story follows their journey navigating their newly found relationship with lots of catch ups with the rest of the gang and some stellar appearances from my faves Murray & Jupiter. Also can we just talk about Cooper with a baby!! Ugh I can’t even .. swoon swoon swoon!
Lulu Moore gets better with every book and I cannot wait to continue with this bunch of characters that I desperately want as my friends.
Let's all just pretend like I wasn't going to absolutely devour and LOVE Lulu's last New York Players novel. Over the course of the first three books, Felix was the comic relief, the playboy, the one nobody really took seriously. Then, an injury lands him in the hospital and the care of his best friend, Molly. It only takes them a little bit to realize their friendship is actually so much more. I can't actually decide which of the four boys is my favorite, but I will tell you that the devotion Felix shows Molly from the get go is unmatched. We should all be so lucky to have a friend like Felix. Before he even knows where they stand, this man is so bent out of shape about her that it's adorable. Felix is sweet, funny, devoted, a true friend, and sexy as hell. Molly is your typical over-achiever. This girl is a top-shelf surgeon and has the confidence to go with it. Despite always being the little sister of the team, when she finally decides Felix is what she wants, she holds nothing back. I loved these two and this story. Lulu outdid herself yet again!
Best Friend - Lovers and Teammates/Bestfriend Little Sister....yep sign me up! :)
Lulu Moore gave us Felix: Book 4 of The New York Players and he was.....*ahhhh deep sigh with heart eye popping out*
From previous reads, we were aware of Felix but we had yet to fully get to know him yet. Now is the time! From the first chapter we jump into it. Felix gets injured during a game and Molly happens to see it happen on TV while at the hospital. Molly is a Orthopedic Surgeon and as she has just seen it happen, gets everything set up to preform the surgery. We find out that over the past 12 years, Molly has crushed/loved Felix but has "shut down" her feelings.
After the surgery, Felix is obvious still under the influence of anesthesia and when Molly checks on him, they share a kiss. One that reignites all those closed off feelings Molly had for Felix. Once the kiss is finished, she runs off! Throughout the remainder of Felix's stay in the hospital, Molly straight up avoids him. This does not sit well with Felix. He also keeps having this reoccurring dream about kissing someone and it being amazing but cannot put a face to it. On his last night in the hospital, he wakes up and sees Molly sleeping in his room. Once their eyes connect, he makes the connection between her and dream and she runs again!
Shortly after we find out that over the past 12 years, he had his eyes set on Molly Marks but he has been nothing but her friend. One of the sweetest friends. Throughout her medical school he would help her study, watch over her at the bar and be her protector. When she aced medical school, he commissioned a diamond stethoscope charm for her that she never takes off. Obviously, her being one the little sister of Cooper Mark's, who is one of Felix's teammates and one of his best friends, he never acted beyond friendship. However, after that kiss, his feelings have changed and he realizes this is it for him. After a drunken night with Drew and Jupiter they come up with a plan to get Molly to talk to Felix and set it up so she cannot run! Of course with the help of Emerson, Drew's girlfriend.
Finally after their plan to get Molly in front of Felix where she cannot run, the tension and temptation takes over and they kiss again! They do more then kissing and well....dear lord Felix, if that was him not at 100% due to his leg being broke and then ACL surgery ..... *jaw dropps*
Their relationship comes natural as I think it should as they had a solid foundation of friendship, however, before going forward, Felix needs to talk with Cooper. They get the "blessing" and are full force but Molly cannot get a grip and thinks what they have will be ruined due to her dedication and work!
When this comes to light, a decision(s) need to be made and Felix let's Molly know this is something she needs to figure out. Was I worried..no but, okay-yeah MAYBE for a second. LOL. JP :)
With this read, we of course got to revisit with the characters from the previous books and even a new baby :)...actually a couple..if you count...well you will have to read to decide. Also, interaction with Hunter and his mess he put himself in after being warned not to! LOL! Can't wait for his book!!!
AHHHHHH I LOVED IT. Getting emotional over here-I’m definitely crying while writing this-. I loved everything from start to finish. I loved the relationship between Felix and Molly. How patient he was with her even though she was VERY stubborn. And the presents? SO THOUGHTFUL. The charms for her necklace? the stethoscope? The bone with the metal rod? 😭. The funniest thing was when Lex water to give Molly a one star review because she wasn’t giving him a proper follow up care. She didn’t because he kissed her but he was on drugs and couldn’t remember but then eventually he did and she ran away. “My Molly Marks” *dying of cuteness* OH AND THE NIKES WITH HER NAME, LIGHTING AND THE LITTLE BONES🦋 Then when they got more serious, Molly doubted that they would last more than 2 months because of her job. Felix didn’t care because he knew what she was doing and he would support her no matter what. But she was too stubborn to except that. I did understand Molly how she was doubting their relationship and also not showing Felix the acceptance for the Fellowship. But I liked how he tried to communicate every-time he saw something was off with her and in this case basically force her to think about what she wanted and gave her a week. I appreciated how she tried hard and came up with a schedule where all the important stuff is marked. 🤭
The friendship between Drew and Felix was Top tear. They had a conversation about what they would do when they retired AND THEN DREW SAID “When you stop I stop” 😭 THEN THEIR LAST GAME 🥹
It’s too soon to say goodbye to these 4 boys- they are men now.
Everyone had Babies😭 Cooper had a boy Drew had a girl and a boy. They grow up so fast.
I am obsessed with this series, Lulu Moore writes the perfect combination of steam and swoon. If you haven't read this author, I don't know what is wrong with you YOU HAVE TO CHECK THIS AUTHOR OUT!!!
OK let's get to Felix 💙 oh boy he was amazing. The chemistry between Felix and Molly is perfect. Who doesn't love a friends to Lovers romance.
Molly is brilliant. She's a strong independent woman who is career driven. I loved how strong she was. And Felix, swoon. He's perfect, and so supportive of Molly. These two together are amazing.
I just have to give a little mention to my one and only New York Player hubby, Drew. I love Drew and Felixs relationship. Everyone needs a best friend like Drew. I literally sobbed at times because of thier friendship.
This book was the perfect addition to this series. I can not wait to read whatever Lulu Moore writes next.
I absolutely love this series! If you enjoy Hockey romance then this book is for you. Molly is an independent, intelligent, orthopedic surgeon at the top of her field. She has worked hard to get where she is and to get over her feelings for Felix. It all changes, when Felix is injured during a game and Molly is there to do his surgery. Things take a drastic turn but can Molly figure out how to juggle everything and have it all. Felix is the hot hockey player who has been a great friend to Molly for years but suddenly he is seeing her in a whole new light. He is the best book boyfriend a girl could ask for and a true romantic at heart! I highly recommend this series and its hot hockey players.
This is Molly's book and I adored it. I adored seeing her in a book of her own instead of just being Cooper's little sister. I loved that it was Felix too - he is a great character.
When Felix is injured on the rink, Molly operates on him and does an amazing job. Under anaesthetic, he kisses her and reignites her childhood crush - one she has to 'fess up quickly.
When Felix realises his attraction to her, he decides that they have to make it work .. no matter the cost.
What ensues is a lovely romance. It is sexy, fluffy and wonderful. What I really enjoyed was that Felix wanted her to do well and wanted her to succeed, no matter the impact on their relationship. It was lovely.
Love this book! Drew's book will probably remain my favorite though... I wonder if this is the last book of the series??? I halfway wonder if there are plans for a offshoot, secondary series/book about Nora and Huck. Them meeting felt like a teaser for another book.🤔😏 I guess we'll have to wait and see...
This is the 4th book in Lulu Moore's New York Players series and I am just loving her books.
This best friends to lovers story features handsome hunk and fabulous hockey player Felix and his best friend and amazing orthopedic surgeon, Molly.
Felix met and became best friends with Molly 12 years ago, when they were introduced by Molly's brother and Felix teammate, Cooper Marks. Molly has had to hide her secret crush on Felix for all this time but he has never noticed her in that way until he gets injured during a game and Molly is the person there to do his surgery. Suddenly, Felix starts to see Molly in a whole new light.
As there relationship develops, Molly struggles as she wonders can she have both her demanding career and an amazing boyfriend as she has only ever focussed on her career in the past and wonders how she can split her time so that he won't get tired of her when she is working long hours as what has happened in the past with ex boyfriends.
I love that the characters in all Lulu's books are intermingled and the way new characters for future books are introduced.
#felix is book four of the #newyorkplayersseries by @lulumoorebooks
Felix was an amazing hockey player. Until one dirty hit from a dirty player changed everything in an instant. Needing emergency surgery due to an open femur fracture, he was brought to the best hospital around for the best sports orthopedic surgeon. Even a little out of it ( due to pain and drugs) he recognized the voice of his best friend. The one who had been there for him. She was now there to fix more than his broken leg.
Molly is amazing at what she does. Being a female sports orthopedic surgeon she has to be damn good at what she does. When finding out the player needing emergency surgery is her best friend, she is ready to roll. Harboring feelings you push away for 12 years is only possible when lines don’t blur. But once they do, there’s no going back to what you were before.
Felix f-ing Cleverly god damn. Lulu, you set some really high standards here. My husband needs some gift giving ideas from this gem. He is thoughtful, persistant and swoony has hell. I loved how he supported molly in all her dreams, never making her choose between what she loves. I was sad to see this come to an end ( for now) but I can’t wait to see what’s up next!
I had always thought something was up between Molly and Felix but I was not expecting their relationship to turn out the way it did. I enjoyed this books but I found myself frustrated by Molly while reading. From the previous books, I imagined her as this total badass surgeon but I was not prepared for her insecurities and her freak outs to be the focal point of the whole book. It felt like it over shadowed the whole relationship so much that I didn’t really get a chance to love them the way I did the other couples. I can’t wait to see which player is the next book!
where was the build up this was so lame but there was fluff so that was kind of cute ig and felix buying her a bone charm was cuter than it shldve been but this was so boring
Felix Cleverly is in my book boyfriend hall of fame. For all my love of Alex Winters, Sam Brennan, Bennett Mazzone, Dillon O’Donoghue and all the rest, Felix went directly to the top five. He’s so devoted to Molly and so determined to shower her with love, it’s amazing. And Molly is great, I loved everything about her and have no complaints, but this is dual POV and seeing it through Felix’s eyes is hawt with a capital H.
They’ve been friends for more than a decade and both have nursed secret crushes the entire time. Only post-surgery anesthesia gives Felix the nerve to finally kiss Molly and it’s even better than he expected, but then she starts avoiding him. Molly doesn’t think he remembers their kiss and although she’s wanted Felix forever, she’s worked her ass off to be one of the best orthopedic surgeons in NYC and her job is extremely demanding.
There’s no time for a social life and her relationships never last more than a few months. He says he understands her seventy-hour work weeks and the need to skip out on plans last minute, but Molly knows that won’t last forever. Everyone professes to understand but the reality of living it is tough and every guy bails eventually, because of her job.
Molly wants to stop this before they really start. She needs to protect her heart from guaranteed devastation because finally having Felix means she has everything she’s ever wanted but losing him would crush her. Felix would never walk away but he can’t make her see. Molly is his everything and nothing matters more. But when he finally convinces her to give them a shot, a career curveball comes along to throw Molly’s world into chaos. She knows she can’t have it all because there’s just not enough time in the day, but does she give up her dream job or her dream man?
Their story is so romantic and sweet, I couldn’t get enough of these two. This author is new to me but I can’t wait to read more from her. I loved Molly and Felix and couldn’t get enough of their story.
"I had to make a decision. One that could either be the best - or worst - of my life. Because either way, things were about to change. Forever. But what was life without a little risk? I'd never played it safe and I wasn't about to start now."
YES, Felix!!!!!!! Just YES. I don't even know where to begin. I am seriously becoming obsessed with all things Lulu Moore and the fine specimens she has created for our eager eyes to consume. God girl, you killed it again. I loved everything about this book.
Felix. Let's be real, the man is a smoke show. I feel like out of the four, Jasper, Cooper, Drew, and now Felix, Felix hands-down, would be my game-changer for sure, 100%. The man is smooth a shit, sexy as fuck, and has the softest heart. Ahhh when he was in the hospital after surgery and Molly was avoiding him because of that kiss, like talk about a sucker punch to my chest. He was so heartbroken. I love reading emotional men in books just as much as made men, they have a way of sucking the life out of you and losing your heart for a couple of hours, don't they? I was like a love-sick teenager all over again reading that. He was just so damn adorable.
AND then Molly. People, the lady is a SURGEON! Smart as shit, young (only 32), hot, and a woman at that. THANK YOU, LORD. I am all about reading strong female heroines and Molly did not disappoint. My favorite takeaway with her character, which shouldn't be surprising if you read the book, is that the lady proves that a woman doesn't have to be subjected to just one thing. She can raise a family, carry a relationship, have babies, all while still being a beast in the OR room or the selected resident for a fellow internship. She proves you can have the best of both worlds; that is if you want it bad enough. You just have to find that balance and make it happen. Because it is possible.
God, this book just makes me happy. Felix makes me happy. Molly makes me happy. Together they make me happy. And Lulu you make me happy. Thanks for creating this world. I am absolutely loving it. Bring on more, please!!
Favourite quote:
"Hockey's not my future, you're my future."
**How beautiful is this? I nearly cried reading that line.**
Rating 5⭐️ Steam 4/5 🔥 (The steamiest of the series IMO)
I’ve been dying to read Felix and Molly’s story since they made their appearance in the earlier books, especially in Drew’s story. The whole way through Drew’s book I was hoping Felix would be next 🙌🏻 And Lulu pulled through for us with this one 👏🏻
Felix is such a sweetheart and it took a serious injury and surgery for him to realize his feelings for Molly, his teammates sister and the girl he’s been best friends with for 12 years. Molly is a bad ass surgeon who operated on Felix’s injury. She has been secretly in love with Felix since she’s known him (so 12 years 😬), and doesn’t believe he will ever see her as more than a friend or Cooper’s little sister.
Felix is trying his best to support Molly in all she does while convincing her his feelings are real and she deserves the world. We need more Felixs’ in the world 😍 The heat between Felix and Molly 😜🔥Who knew someone as sweet as Felix could also be so dirty 😉
Also love how Lulu gives such great little Easter eggs for the previous characters and where they’re at now. The boys as hot dads 🤤😍
Felix: A New York Players Novel (The New York Players Book 4) is such an amazing addition to the series. We have witnessed the great friendship between Felix and Molly, but her brother Cooper is on Felix's team so out of respect Felix friend zoned her years ago even though there was a strong attraction.
Felix goes through an awful injury, Molly is his Ortho doctor.... and feelings get muddy!
Oh I just LOVE this series and this book does not disappoint! Felix and Molly are fire together.
Felix is everything you want in a leading man, and Molly is sassy, feisty and does not roll over for the hockey player.
I laughed through the book, cringed at the antics and then laughed again! Lulu Moore is really smashing it with this series, more of our favourites are leaving the team but more players are also joining... does this mean the series will go on forever I really hope so!
Can we also have a series highlighting a certain lady's brother Lulu? PLEEEAAAASE!!!! I need to know that story!
This is such a fantastic series! I loved all of the books & cannot pick a favorite 🤩 All of the characters smell like whiskey & I’m here for it 🥃 Lulu you have a stalker (I mean fan) for life! I’m sad this is the last NY Players book out right now, but I am so looking forward to Book 2 of the Tuesday Club. If you haven’t read that book, go do that after you read this series’
Below are a few of my favorite things about the book:
💙Felix (Lex): The perfect mix of cocky & sweet. He is the boss of the pink windows & I love love him (yes I meant to type love twice) 💙Molly (Mol or Angel): She is so admirable & relatable with her struggle to balance work with her personal life 💙Supporting Cast: Jasper & Wolfie, Coop & Freddie, Drew & Emerson & more new faces 💙Steamy scenes: Molly’s office, the shower multiple times & the chaise lounge 🥵 💙Sweet scenes: Drew’s presents, the Venn Diagram of love 💙The Prologue & Epilogue: I don’t want to spoil anything, but it’s perfect. Lulu bookended this one perfectly 😊
Highly recommend this entire series. Available in KU.
Thoughts - Felix and Molly & I'll be honest and say I was reluctant to read this book because it meant the series was over (g). Can we take a moment to appreciate how much everyone gathers around Felix at the start, and also medicated Felix la). The drive Molly has with her career and the support Felix shows it swoon worthy. Also I loved how much Drew was is this book because they really are a package deal %. The Dr drama was a great narrative too as well as Jasper and Cooper with babies M Series wrap up - I definitely had a book hangover from this series. It has awesome rom com/ funny/ sexy swoon worthy and friendship goals vibe. The series will be on my re reads pile and recommended reads pile for ever. * Best friends sister * Series perfection * So many laughable moments * A little more Jupiter (IYKYK) * "Her tongue swept around my mouth, hungry and insistent, her grip strong in the hair at the base of my neck. I answered her back with a fierce thrust of my hips...
I absolutely love Felix and Molly. These two have such an amazing love story, even with the rocks & bumps along the way.
After a horrible injury on the ice, Felix is taken into surgery, which was done by one of his closest friends Molly. These two friends have always been close, but one faithful kiss, the sparks are hard to deny.
This is a wonderful story & I love how it all plays out. This may sound a bit strange, but I think one of my favorite parts is what the causes the angst within the couple towards the end of the book. So I don’t spoil anything, I will just say that it very much deviates from the “normal” cause in romance books. It was so refreshing to see something different.
I have loved each book of the New York Players series & I cannot wait to see what Lulu Moore has in store for us next.
This entire series has been beautiful. I’m the type of reader who has a thousand series on the go at any one time - I read and listen to different books simultaneously depending on what I’m doing on any given day - and I struggle to read entire series in a straight row because it can become a little monotonous… Not with this series. I’ve enjoyed every story, every couple and every challenge they’ve faced along the way. Nothing too dark, nothing too angsty, just wonderful stories that I’ve stayed continuously engaged with. Every side character has contained a level of depth that makes me interested in their story - and made me seek the next book, the next release. I hope there are more to come, the four I’ve read have but whetted my appetite for the next.
Reformed player, best friend/team mates little sister, decade of longing and loving each other, friends-to-lovers, successful & independent FMC, hockey romance (duh!), and low-angst! I loved how this book focused more on Molly and her badass career as an Orthopedic surgeon vs. putting all the spotlight on Lex’s hockey career as he heals and recovers from a gruesome injury! This book also felt like an extended epilogue to all the other boys stories. I’ve been a fan of the relationship Drew and Felix share as brothers since Jasper’s book and to see them continue to plan their futures around each other at the end; melted by heart. I’m unsure of how Huck’s story plays into this series considering all the boys (except Cooper, I believe) are retired. But, I’m all here for it because I don’t want this series to end.
We’ve met Felix through the other books in the series, he’s Drew’s best friend and the relationship between the two is fabulous.
This is as much Molly’s story as it is Felix’s. We’ve encountered Molly through out the series too. She’s Cooper’s little sister but most importantly a brilliant orthopaedic surgeon. Just who you need when a potentially career ending injury happens on the ice and a decade’s long friendship becomes something more. There was every possibility that Felix could have turned into an arse in this book but he didn’t. We met a charming, supportive friend and partner.
Don’t hesitate to read this! If you haven’t read the rest of the series do that first - you don’t need to but you’ll love the characters more if you do!
You know those series where every book you read keeps getting better? This is one of those series! I have loved each individually, becoming more invested in the characters as the series went on. But Felix and Molly? Woohoo- those two are on a whole other level!
I love that Felix is practically perfect- and once he’s in- he takes dream boyfriend to a whole new level! And Molly- who loved hard, but fears having her career cause problems. The chemistry these two have could cause an earth shaking explosion!
I have waited for this story since the first time we saw these two- and it definitely did not disappoint!
Such a great story! You should definitely check it out!
LuLu Moore writes a swoon worthy book, and she doesn’t leave out the heat. Felix and Molly friends for many years, however Felix play professional hockey with Molly’s brother and that brother made it known …..do not touch his sister. Secretly Molly has been in love for Felix from the beginning, while Felix was a great friend to her there was never any romance.
When Felix is gravely injured during a game, Molly ends up being the Doctor that does his surgery to put him back in the rink. What happens after that surgery will make you laugh and I will say at one point in this book I had tears in my eyes. Do yourself a favor and read this whole series. You will not be sorry!!
