Ryan Franklin is an assistant pastor at the Pentecostals of Alexandria and executive coach to pastors and Christian leaders. With more than 25 years of personal development and leadership experience in businesses and churches, he’s dedicated to helping others achieve greatness as a leader while they expand their influence and change lives. Through his YouTube channel and popular podcast, Christian Leader Made Simple, he shares his Christian Leader Blueprint methods.

Ryan’s passion is to see pastors and Christian leaders succeed in producing healthier organizations as they live out their God-given vision. He’s considered among his peers to be integral in helping leaders establish a better rhythm of life, see themselves more clearly, leverage their strengths, and build more productive relationships.

He graduated with an MA in Christian Ministries with a focus in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University in Virginia. Later he went on to graduate from Concordia University with a graduate-level certification in Professional Executive Coaching and Consultation.

His leadership experiences started while living in Washington, D.C., where he helped a new church in Northern Virginia build a strong foundation during its early pivotal stage. During the same time, he became a strategic influence as Center Director of a failing clinic as it turned profitable in George Washington Hospital, Washington, D.C.

After several years dealing with experiences in his own past that held him back as a leader—and with the help of an executive coach guiding him to uncover the things that were zapping his fulfillment—along with an extensive journey of coaching others, Ryan created The Christian Leader Blueprint. Using Jesus as the perfect example of an influencer and the greatest example of an effective leader, Ryan has proven these valuable concepts with coaching clients for many years. He is the author of two popular Bible studies with worldwide distribution: The Bible Made Simple and Salvation Made Simple, which sold over 70,000 copies and is translated into seven languages.

Ryan’s greatest joy is spending time in the outdoors with his family. He was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he currently lives with his wife Angie, and children, Olivia and Neil.

The Christian Leader Blueprint has the potential to be a truly transformative catalyst in the life of any leader as well as in the field of leadership training generally. I have personally been blessed for several years to be influenced by the leadership concepts and teachings developed and refined by Ryan Franklin.
In truth this is more than just a book, it's a system for living and leading. Not all of the concepts in it are new and, if you are like me, you will recognize some ideas, such as leveraging your strengths and developing a rythm of life, from other leadership and personal development authors that you've read or followed. But the real strength of this book and this system is that it effectively organizes the best and most useful leadership principles as well as relevant biblical truths, into a practical process for personal and professional leadership growth. Ryan presents these concepts in a clear and accessible format (or blueprint) that is simple to understand and apply to real life. The reason this approach is so revolutionary is that it helps the reader to identify and focus on the specific areas of his or her individual life that are most in need of development. It then directs the reader in drilling down into the specifics of how to begin improving, growing and developing that particular area. If you want fresh personal growth ideas combined with Biblical truths and the very best of classic leadership principles all organized in a systematic process for growing as a leader and a person I encourage you to begin reading this book immediately. You won't regret it.

The step-by-step approach comes through in the many parts and subparts. The steps reflect what the author has learned through trial and error, as well as counseling.
An element of leadership development that is often left behind is the internal healing and growth that should start before pursuing a leadership role. This resource normalizes counseling as a tool. As I read several of the sections, I could envision where a 1:1 discipleship relationship with an accountability partner would use the book as a starting point for discussions.
Sections on self-care were handled well.
There were few surprises within the text -- much of what is covered is solid advice that would apply to Christians across traditions.
The introduction suggests reading the book in several sections over time. If used as a 1:1 tool or in a group, I could see where a one hour discussion would not be enough to reflect on what needs to grow and what needs to be trimmed.
The book is recommended for 1:1 interactions and small groups. I can see where a solo individual with a journal would also benefit. The title is great for reflecting how a person of faith can grow into leading others well.

This book is a blueprint, a personal-leadership growth model. Ryan Franklin describes leadership as, “leading people in a healthy way, building relationships with people, and helping them grow. Paul led his followers to the next step, and then he helped them take that next step in their relationship with Jesus and others. That is the big picture of leadership.” And “Within this guide, readers have the opportunity to learn how to establish a better rhythm of life, see themselves more clearly, leverage the strengths within themselves, and ultimately build better and more productive relationships.” Using his personal experiences, he provides background and scriptures in each chapter, and questions to ask yourself to help you grow. I recommend this book to those beginning, those who are in the throes of leadership and for those who are burning out.

This book has a biblical reference for everything I have ever been taught in the many leadership/management classes I have taken in my career. It's packed full of great information and questions that help you grow your leadership abilities. You don't have to be a person of faith to find this book useful. It is a long book and not one you will get through quickly, but if you pay attention and do the work that is set out in each chapter, I do believe your leadership abilities will grow in leaps and bounds. Highly recommended for those who want to be better leaders. #GoodreadsGiveaways

This book encouraged me to be a more healthy leader. He has this leadership framework of 4 Pillars- creating a better rhythm of life, leveraging your strengths, building better relationships, and seeing yourself more clearly (for self assessment and reflection). There were so many principles that I could apply to my own unique situation. I feel like I now have a path forward to chart my own growth.

Franklin has a way of disarming the reader with vulnerable transparency. It is refreshing to see such transparency and honesty in a leadership book these days. I enjoy how he does not claim a singular perfect way but rather recognizes the nuanced differences in personalities while giving timeless truths and advice. Smooth read. Great advice. Comprehensive in scope.

Must read for all leaders

One of the best leadership books I have ever read. I will have to read this one many times throughout the rest of my life. This book has helped me understand why I have struggled in areas of my leadership. And it also given me steps to improve those areas. Along with tools to help others as well.

I really enjoyed the principles of this book. What you will read is a culmination of years of study and experience in leadership. I do recommend that you read the book and not listen to the audio version. You will likely get more out of it.
