Sienna's about to fall head first into danger ... Will Micah be able to save her and capture her heart in the process?
Micah
From the first time I saw Sienna Bardot dancing on my stage, I was mesmerized. But after booking a private room and buying her time, I want more than just one night.
She thinks by telling me that she’s waiting for love and marriage it’ll scare me away, but what she doesn’t understand is that I plan to make her mine in every way.
When her life is threatened, I would do anything to keep her safe—even if that means forcing her to take my last name.
Sienna
Micah Alexander is a man used to getting what he wants, and I’m a woman used to having my choices taken away.
The sexy club owner thinks he can charm me, but it’s never going to happen. I’m dancing my way to a better life—one that doesn’t include making the same mistakes my mom did.
But when her sins come back to haunt me yet again, I have no choice but to turn to the only man who can save me—and hope letting him in doesn’t put my heart in further danger.
Nikki Ash resides in South Florida where she is an English teacher and mom by day and a writer by night. When she’s not writing, you can find her with a book in her hand. From the Boxcar Children to Wuthering Heights to the latest Single Parent Romance, she has lived and breathed every type of book.
Reading is like breathing in, writing is like breathing out. - Pam Allyn
While reading and writing are her passions, her two children are her entire world. You can probably find them at a Disney park before you would find them at home on the weekends!
“Being my wife isn’t enough. I want her to love me and crave me the way I do her. I want her to let me in and trust me. I want to give her the entire world.”
Sienna, a former ballet dancer, is struggling to make ends meet to care for her and her younger sister. Instead of pursuing her ballet dreams, Sienna takes a job as a stripper at an upscale gentleman’s club. Micah, a billionaire and co-owner of the club with his brother, sees Sienna on stage one night and immediately is intrigued.
However, Sienna’s heart is guarded for good reason after the things she’s seen, and she is slow to warm to Micah’s advances. However, once Sienna and her sister are in danger, Micah will stop at nothing to keep them safe….and that includes making her his wife.
I loved everything about this. Micah fell first and hard, and was patient in showing Sienna that what he felt was genuine. I liked that Sienna didn’t just fall into his arms, but made sure he knew that the safety of her sister was top priority. The suspense element was just enough to not take away from the romance, and I’m glad it was wrapped up quickly in the end.
The Risk of Falling releases on September 14, 2023!
TROPES: he falls first; heroine is a stripper; single mom-ish (heroine takes care of younger sister; marriage of convenience; forced proximity
Sienna Bardot is a college student and a ballet dancer with dreams. However, some unfortunate events lead her to work as a stripper at night to support herself and Ellie, her sister because their mother is good for nothin'. She has goals and a plan to follow, but then she meets Micah who falls in love and decides to pursue her. So, he does and she rejects him, but will that stop him? NO.
“I choose you, Micah. I choose us... forever.”
I gave this one 2 stars but it's not that bad, I'm sure some might like it better than me. The chapters are easy to read and the plot | vibe moved well and was fun until it wasn't. I liked the characters, especially Micah (until he made me cringe) but all that insta love... at one point the last 30% of the book was all about Sienna and Micah having sex.
I am so glad I have decided to venture out and read new authors because I am finding some outstanding ones, and Nikki Ash is one of them. THE RISK OF FALLING is my first read of Nikki's, but honestly, it will NOT be my last. I was drawn in on page one. Sienna's love for her sister and the lengths she will go to to keep her safe are so heartwarming; it's a shame that their mom was a piece of work because she didn't deserve the two daughters she had.
Sienna works as an exotic dancer at night while attending college classes during the day and caring for her younger sister. She has a lot going on in her life, and there is no time for dating, so when she meets Micah, who wants to pursue her, she tells him no, but the handsome billionaire doesn't give up on her so easily.
This story was a #swoonfest on steroids! I read it about a week ago and still today, going over my reading notes to write this review, I AM SWOONING! I’m not much of a blurb reader, especially with authors I tend to auto-click, but I did read this one and I was expecting some sort of drama from the story, but holy #feels people! I cannot sing this story’s praises enough!
Micah Alexander is a thing of beauty. I know that may not sound “manly” enough to some, but it is absolutely the perfect descriptor for him! The spark between him and Sienna was instant and even though Sienna had walls of steel built around her, he persevered and yes, obviously won the girl but he won me too! I want this man in my life! To be honest, this story was so real and relatable that I want them all in my life. Okay, I could do without Sienna’s mother (sweet Jesus, she tested me), but everyone else can gather around me!
I love a good story where the hero falls first and fights for the girl and Sienna deserved that kind of man in her life! Nikki wrote the perfect story for all characters involved and didn’t miss a single beat with any plot-points! I am ridiculously on edge for what’s to come in this series, because Ellie, Ellie, Ellie … what kind of shenanigans are you up to?! *raises eyebrow*
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: heroine in peril Angst: 😱😱😱1/2 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
The Risk of Falling was everything I expect when I pick up a Nikki Ash story and she did not let me down! Love me some stripper trope instaloves, lol. Seriously, I love them :) Throw in the "heroine who is raising a younger sibling" with a side of "he falls first" and we totally have a winner. Super entertaining and well written, The Risk of Falling definitely has some breadcrumbs for what's coming and I can tell you that I'll totally be here for it! Can't wait to see what's next!
average but entertaining. super insta lust/love (on his part) BUT his unwavering devotion and loyalty to the girls did make me giddy… when i wasn’t cringing lmao
Oh the FEELS!!!!!! This book....I couldn't read it fast enough. These characters hook you hard. I loved the banter, sass, and relationship Ellie and Sienna shared. Then Micah swoops in and wow, just wow.
These characters and this story would have me chuckling along with their Sassy jibes on paragraph and then have me tearing up with their genuine care and love for each other in the next.
I so totally fell in love with these characters. They are so real, in the hard life they were given, their strength and determination to do better. There just aren't enough words to adequately express the beauty of the way these everyday words were spun together to create a captivating and mesmerizing story of finding love and family.
Ok so I’ve read all of authors previous works. This book is more like Love me Harder or Finding Beauty vibes to it, with a bit of edge or darkness to the story. That being said this is probably one of my favorites. Tropes: ✔️marriage of convenience ✔️family drama ✔️MMC falls first ✔️cinnamon roll hero ✔️found family
This story starts with FMC Sienna and her younger sister Ellie. They are struggling to just survive and keep food on the table and to better themselves. Sienna is a strong, protective, dancer at a prestigious club. MMC Micah is technically part owner of the club. Micah is also a rich, powerful, very successful businessman. He sees Sienna in a club and is immediately drawn to her. He falls in love with her hard and fast. Needing to protect Sienna, and by default Ellie, Micah marries Sienna. Sienna agrees even though at this point she’s not in love with him. Micah is bound and determined to get her to love him in return. I don’t want to give spoilers on the book but this story is so good. The book kept throwing little twists n turns that kept me so engaged that I read cover to cover. I thought it got into the story, n wasn’t a slow burn which I thought worked well. The book had family drama, found family, marriage of convenience, moments of suspense, cinnamon roll hero and the steam between Micah and Sienna was 🔥. A great read. I can’t wait for Ellie’s book
Ballerina Sienna works as a stripper so that she can take care of her younger sister and also so she can pay for college. Micah’s family owns the city and the strip club. He falls hard first and there’s a lot of pushback from Sienna— perhaps too much thus the 4 stars for what was setting up to be a 6 star read for me.
I couldn't keep reading after she demanded to keep working at the strip club. She didn't need to, she wanted to. I can't get over how much I feel that disrespects the man she's with. And he LET HER. He is definitely NOT the alpha male I wanted him to be.
Sienna is a college student who is raising her 15 year old sister because their good-for-nothing mother can't be bothered to be a mother. Sienna and her sister have an amazing relationship and there is nothing that Sienna wouldn't do for her sister. Dancing has always been in her blood so when she had to quit to raise her sister, she became an exotic dancer to make money to keep a roof over their heads and keep the utilities on. You know, all the things a mother should do. One night when she is working Micah, the owner of the club's brother, comes in and is immediately enamored with Sienna. After watching her dance and then buying a private dance with her, he is consumed by her. He wants to get to know her but she keeps shutting him down because she thinks he is only interested in one thing and doesn't have time for a man in her life. But when her sister's meddling and mother's bad behavior force them to spend more time together she realizes that maybe he is after more than just her body for one night and Micah just might be who she needs.
Micah was your typical Nikki Ash hero who falls fast, hard and completely. I adored him and how much he cared for Sienna and her sister. How he recognized that they were a package deal and wanted to care for them both. He was just perfection.
I loved Sienna. She was strong and fierce. She had a plan, she was sticking to it and no one or nothing was going to get her to waiver from that plan. Even when her mother's actions threw a wrench into her plans. I loved that about her. I really enjoyed their story. Loved that it had a side of suspense thrown into their love story. Quick and good read. I can't get enough of Nikki Ash's books and this one was no different. Gobbled it up in one sitting.
Nikki Ash has been one of my favorite authors I have found this year! She's the queen of the single mom/surprise pregnancy trope!

Sienna has no room for distractions in her life. She's focused on providing for her sister and getting through school. Pole dancing isn't the type of dancing she thought she'd be doing, but it's paying her bills and allowing her to provide for her sister! And so far, she's been able to focus on all those things without any distractions. Until Micah.
Micah always gets what he wants. With his billionaire status and his persistence, he's not used to being told "no!" Until Sienna.

🔹️I LOVED how vulnerable Micah was at times. He was perfectly cock, but also very vulnerable and sensitive!
"But in the same way you want someone to choose you, Sienna, I want someone to choose me.”
🔹️Micah's relationship with Ellie was so sweet!!!! I love how protective he was of her!
“Ugh, is this what it’s like having two parents?” Ellie grumbles.
“Oh yeah? Hey, Micah, Ellie likes this boy and wants to go on a date with—” “Hell no,” I bark, not letting her finish that asinine statement. Dance school, I can handle. Dating, fuck that. “I was fifteen and know exactly how boys act at that age,” I say to Ellie. “Focus on dancing.”
🔹️Micah counting how long it took Sienna to fall in love with him!
“I thought it would take at least two, maybe three months for you to get on the same page as me, but it only took…” His eyes rise to the ceiling before returning his gaze to me. “Six weeks. It took six weeks for you to fall in love with me.”

What happens when a dancer at a club you own catches your eye? You become obsessed, only to find out she doesn’t date and isn’t interested in giving more than a private dance. Then, her life becomes in danger due to some unfortunate events and the only way to protect her, the woman you have fallen in love with but doesn’t reciprocate is to marry her?
The Risk of Falling was so good! I listened to the audiobook and devoured it! It was the right blend of intrigue, angst, danger and love! Can’t wait for Ellys book!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved everything about this. It’s my first Nikki Ash book but it will not be my last. The romantic suspense was *chefs kiss* and the way Micah instantly fell in love with Sienna was everything I needed. Sienna had walls higher than the Great Wall but Micah was able to chip away at the foundation with patience and perseverance. And the way Sienna was with her sister too, GUH, I just loved it. Beyond all that, this book didn’t skimp on the spice and I HIGHLY recommend.
Ellie’s book is next and I can’t wait to see where Nikki takes us!
Definitely recommend and I can’t wait to meet Nikki next year!
Tropes: -v!rgin heroine -billionaire MMC -he falls first -marriage of convenience
Sienna is a college student who is trying to take care of her teenage sister because their deadbeat mother can't seem to. She has always loved to dance so it's an easy decision for her to start stripping to make ends meet. Micah is immediately drawn to Sienna after stopping by his strip club that he co-owns with his brother and seeing her on stage. He becomes obsessed with her and does everything he can to convince her to go on a date with him. It isn't until Sienna's life is in danger that the only way she can be kept safe is if they get married.
The plot in this book kept surprising me. I also loved how obsessed Micah was with Sienna and the lengths he would go to make her safe and happy. He was so patient with her and when he finally earned her trust, they were perfect together. Definitely recommend!
Oh. My. Wow. This story just absolutely blew me away and these characters stole my heart. Of course, anything Ash writes blows me away. I am always in awe of her books. But with this one, halfway through I was already anticipating the next book of the series. And I had no idea if Ash was even going to give us a second book. But fear not, because yes, there will be one. And it may actually be better than this one. How? I don’t know. Call it gut instinct.
But back to the story at hand, The Risk of Falling had me turning the pages as fast as I could but also savoring everything the author was giving us. I wanted to burrow deep and learn all I could about Micah and Sienna. Ellie and Lincoln, too. There is a lot of baggage that comes along with Sienna, as well a multitude or trust issues. But bless Micah for looking past all that and working hard to be with her.
The instantaneous, he falls first romance was exactly what I needed, when I needed it. But that’s usually how it is with Ash’s books. It’s like she writes them specifically for me, giving me a beautifully told story every time. 5 Stars!
For most part it was really cute, fairy tale like but.. 2 things really bothered me:
- him being okay with her stripping in his club after they got married and he already loved her. I know it was done in women empowerment kinda way, but in books I prefer H more jealous/possessive. - him letting her go with her sister into hiding... like nooooo! I know it didn't happen, but still🤷♀️
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
DNF It just wasn’t my cup of tea. It was definitely insta lust from the H and so cringy. He thinks she’s hot so he must have her. She says no and he’s more determined than ever to have her. Eh, I need more substance than this…
Excellent!! Just when I thought Nikki Ash couldn’t write a better book…she goes and does it. I knew from the very first page I was going to love it. That feeling you get when locking eyes with someone the first time is how this book will make you feel. Micah is a super hot business man who meets Sienna while she is dancing at his brothers club. He becomes obsessed with her and wants to make her his. He finds out immediately that it will not be an easy task. Sienna DOESN’T date, ever. Can Micah break through her barriers? Pick up this fabulous book and find out!!
Nikki Ash never disappoints. I loved Micah and Sienna. Micah is my newest book boyfriend. I fell hard for him. Because of her past and the issues with her mother, Sienna was hesitant to let Micah into her life. This story had twists and turns I wasn't expecting. It keeps you on the edge. I loved every minute. Took me two days to read, but I would have easily devoured it in less than a day if I didn't have responsibilities.
I'm excited that this is a series and we will get Sienna's sister Ellie's story. I love her. She's a feisty little thing that's keeping a secret. And I think I might know who her secret includes, but I don't want to give anything away.
Micah Alexander was nothing short of cocky, arrogant, confident, but sweet and caring.
Sienna is doing everything she can to provide a safe and comfortable life for her sister, Ellie. To get her away from their mother.
She doesn't trust men with good reason, but Micah is out to prove not all men are bad and she can trust him with not just her and Ellie's safety but their hearts as well.
Micah and Siennas' story was exciting and full of spice. I loved the dangerous edge to it. Gah, it keeps me on the edge of my seat!!!
I will definitely look forward to reading A Risk Worth Taking.
Nikki Ash does it again. Another book that draws the reader in. I absolutely loved this story. Love Sienna and Micah’s romance story. Micah and Sienna meet at a club that Micah and his brother owns. Since Micah first sees Sienna, he knew that she was the one he wanted to marry. Sienna has sworn off dating and marriage after watching what has happened to her mother. When Sienna is threatened, Micah offers a marriage of convenience to which Sienna agrees. Over the course of time, Sienna slowly becomes to like Micah. Love how these two end up together
Oh my heart after Micah and Sienna's story. Micah was set in his ways looking for no changes until Sienna stops him in his tracks. My heart broke for Sienna and her upbringing and how she was taking care of everything and sacrificing herself. The way these two come together and their chemistry is out of this world. This book had the perfect amount of turns and feels and was a perfectly enjoyable book.
In Angel Unseen, by J. Bree: Tomi meets Angel: a powerful business owner/ MC enforcer is struck by a new dancer in his nightclub Angel has secrets and is running from problems: dancer has distress and hides identity or refuses to engage Tomi breaks Angel down, declares her off limits and proceeds to maintain the upperhand: = dancer gives in sexually to alpha male, and exists under "no touching" ban but remains secretive or withholds information until it's almost too late: exasperating push and pull, stubbornness, and miscommunication
In this one, The Risk of Falling, by Nikki Ash: a powerful business owner is struck by a new dancer in his nightclub *Micah becomes suddenly obsessed with Sienna. dancer has distress and hides identity or refuses to engage *Sienna tries to keep Micah at arms length but her problems come glaringly to his attention. = dancer gives in sexually to alpha male, exists under "no touching" ban but remains stubbornness almost until it's too late *Sienna hates depending of Micah for safety and she's really attracted to him, but she won't give in, because she has plans and an obligation to uphold.
So, I guess I like the pretty woman trope — minus the $3000 (😂, b/c duh...more $$$ please), the scene deletion where Richard saves Vivian from the pimp (should have left that storyline 👍), and the part where Richard is only badass in the boardroom (😂). Micah, in The Risk of Falling, gaslights the reader because he talks about his family owning more than half the town and being nowhere near the dirty dealers like the Mexican cartel who also deal in this town. However, Micah has a quick finger on the trigger and does not bat an eye at unaliving. Micah is a boss! And he does a wonderful job at protecting his Sienna. Yet, when it comes to Sienna, though he exhibits sweet patience and passion, he almost loses a lot of his badassness by tolerating her shenanigans a little too far for me . Sienna exasperated me... In all, Micah and Sienna's story is sweet in the way Micah will do anything for her, and he is a cinnamon roll until he is pushed to eliminate threats. But then the story goes off the rails with wannabee surprise moves from secondary characters and unaddressed possible fallouts to actions that are taken to solve situations. Micah is not affiliated with mafia, cartel, or an outfit. He just has his family and business employees, so how is he able to move and kill like he does? Repercussions, much?
This ends with a plot mystery about Sienna sister, Ellie. It tries to strike interest, but to me, it's a ploy and could have been impactful if the side-plot with Sienna and Ellie's mother had been more fleshed out.
