In a world filled with all sorts of truth claims – even “find your own truth” – Jesus stands alone. He boldly proclaims Himself as the only source of freedom, peace, truth, meaning, sustenance, security, and everlasting life with God. Which leaves us asking: Are Jesus’s claims true?
We are excited to invite you to examine Jesus’s claims for your own life in John’s Gospel: The Truth.
This was our Bible Study Fellowship study from September 2023 to April 2024. I was planning on being part of the study, but was called to family ministry in the form of caregiving for my parents. I would recommend and hope to complete at some point in the future.
Want to join in? Bible Study Fellowship is an international organization that has a great ministry going on around the world from September through April (Northern hemisphere school year). Meetings are held both in person and online. Study groups are divided by gender men and men, women with women, and many onsite women's study locations offer a study for students from 1st through 12th grade. https://join.bsfinternational.org/fin...
An indepth study on the book of John from the Bible. BSF does an amazing job with this study, and gives you the tools to really study and know God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Word, and I walked away with so much understanding of John and his walks and beliefs of Jesus. With daily studies throughout the week on each chapter, and once a week in person review and lecture, this study was exactly what I needed to get further into the word. God knew what I needed and he drew me even closer to him throughout this study. I can't wait for fall of 2024 when BSF does the study on Revelation.
An in depth study of the book of John. I loved everything about this study. BSF does a wonderful job of basing their entire study from the word & not drawing from a lot of outside sources. You are constantly in the text and using scripture to clarify scripture.
I know the book of John so much better now, but more importantly I know my Savior better now too. Many rich discussions took place in my leaders group with the aid of this BSF study. I am thankful.
Taking the time to dig deep into any book in the Bible is always insightful, and John’s Gospel portrays Jesus as fully God and fully man. From his seven “I am” statements to his agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, John establishes Jesus as the Son of God who sacrificed his life for the sins of man. What is so important about this book, and a point that John stresses in this Gospel, is that he was an eyewitness to these events - as well as others whom he mentions. His words are among the most quoted from the New Testament- “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” What a great promise of hope!
Wow! I just realized I could add this book. It's a study guide for Bible Study Fellowship. Last year, we read the book of John, read many pages of notes each week, and completed study questions. I just stumbled across this in Goodreads and realized I could add it to my shelf. Yay!
The gospel of John was full of hope and miracles. I learned so much about John, Jesus' disciple and close friend. Through John's words, I learned more about Jesus and grew closer in my walk with him. If you haven't joined a BSF group, I highly recommend it. This year we are studying Revelation.
I didn’t get all the verses done but most of them. It’s a very good study. You should do a little every night and that’s how it’s set up, but some days… well I just have to play catch up. It pretty much goes verse by verse. There is always something you can learn.
