Lucky is an understatement for the chaos that she has survived. Nearing 10 years in a life of sobriety, this memoir candidly reveals Rachel's deepest secrets and shame. The loss of a parent, mental health battles, toxic relationships, and her chilling discovery of opiates at a young age take you on an emotional roller coaster. Her detailed story of daily life in the cycle of addiction, and resilience in triumph provide an eye opening perspective and hope for those still struggling.
A quick read, but a heavy one! Rachel takes you through the start of a ten year battle that was hard to read, but so important to understand. This book is eye-opening, gut wrenching, heart breaking but also brings you to the light at the end of the tunnel. I found myself scared but also rooting for every addict on every page to find their light. Rachel out everything out there on these pages and if you are an addict, know an addict or love an addict, this book is a great love letter to you.
This book was full of emotion, failure, strength, and perserverance! To be able to put yourself out there and tell the world of all the ugly truths, failures, and horrific things that happened to you is in itself amazing. This story made my heart break but yet feel full of joy (at the end). To be able to come out the addiction is a miracle in itself. Im just so happy for you that you have this beautiful life now that you so deserve. Heres to many more sober wonderful years!!! Sherry Muhlbach
