THE MAGIC OF SUMMER is the first book in the Love on Anchor Lane series and can easily be read as a stand-alone. All of Leeanna’s series are linked. If you find a character you like, they could be in another novel!
Leeanna Morgan is a USA Today bestselling author. She lives in New Zealand surrounded by green hills on one side and the ocean on the other. She enjoys going for long walks, especially if she can convince her husband and two children to go with her!
Leeanna writes contemporary romances set in Montana. Her books contain all of the things that are important to her; good friends, family, a strong sense of community, and a happy ending.
Now maybe I would have a different opinion if I had finished the book, but at 35% through, nothing had happened. I found the woman and her skills unrealistic, huge amounts of both public and charitable money thrown around for projects that, while worthwhile, did not need to be lavish, her brother offesive, and...need I go on? While I have thoroughly enjoyed other books by Morgan, this one felt like it was just dashed off to meet a deadline.
Moved slow, too much description for me. Sweet hallmarky story. Widower meets business executive turned fairy forest owner. Terrible misunderstanding with his job offer in Tennessee. Very predictable
The Magic of Summer is the first book of the Love on Anchor Lane series. From what I can tell this is a standalone story. This book introduces us to Harrison and Daniella.
Daniella Judd moved back to Sapphire Bay in order to keep a promise she’d made to her brother. She left years ago to pursue a fancy career that she found truly did not fulfill her, especially after her brother passed away. She felt guilty for not being there for him when he was sick. Now she is living a new dream and owns a successful business planning parties in her Fairy Cottage in Sapphire Bay.
Harrison James is temporarily living in Sapphire Bay and helping to develop Anchor Lane. He devastatingly lost his wife three years ago and he needed to get away from his hometown to think about what is important and try to start living again. He truly doesn't think that he’ll ever be happy again, but he is finding some happiness working on the cottages on Anchor Lane.
When Daniella and Harrison meet, they have an instant connection. He is drawn to her free spirit and she is drawn to his kindness. Neither one realizes that they both have underlying fears of relationships and commitment. They are afraid of loving and losing, so they fight the attraction they have for each other. This got to be a little bit lengthy for my taste and I wanted them to just give in and enjoy the journey together. Once they did, it was a very nicely written love story.
This book is a little slow to progress, but it is a nice story. The characters are good, the story is clean and it ends nicely with no cliffhanger. ⭐⭐⭐
I normally really like this author. I enjoy that her stories are nice and clean. Not hot sex scenes to have to skim past. This one is just a bit too clean for me to find credible. Daniella has moved home to Sapphire Bay after the loss of her love. She creates a wonderful place for magical parties and weddings. Harrison James has moved temporarily to town to recover from the loss of his wife in a car accident when he fell asleep. That element is not developed at all. They kiss a few times and he helps her with her place a few times. Side-bar her dad has a heart attack – back on topic and he proposes. I’m used to more from this author as this just stayed tepid.
Leanna Morgan took us back to Sapphire Bay, Montana and reintroduced us to Daniella, owner of the Fairy Forest. We also meet a new man in town. Harrison, a widower, has come to Sapphire Bay for a few months to help build and renovate houses in town. He and Daniella meet and their attraction to each other is immediate. They both have some hurdles to overcome. The book revolves around these two main characters and we also catch up with former characters living in this beautiful little town. I look forward to reading the second book in this series.
Daniella was so busy trying to climb the corporate ladder, she missed saying goodbye to her older brother Marcus that died from stage four bone cancer. Marcus made her promise to take time and experience life, to stop and smell the roses. Harrison while driving exhausted fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into semi-truck killing his wife. They meet in Saphire Bay and the sparks fly but will the romance continue to burn due to the guilt both feel for different reasons. A very enjoyable book that leaves you feeling GOOD. A definite five star.
LOVE ON ANCHOR LANE SERIES - BOOK 1 - THE MAGIC OF SUMMER - A SWEET SMALL TOWN ROMANCE - LEEANNA MORGAN = 204 PAGES
I FELL IN LOVE WITH DANIELLA AND HARRISON. I REALLY LOVED THIS STORY. I REALLY LOVE READING THIS AUTHOR'S STORIES. DANIELLA'S FAIRY FOREST SOUNDS SO MAGICAL, AND IT GIVES SO MANY PEOPLE SUCH HAPPINESS. SAPPHIRE BAY SOUNDS LIKE A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE. IT WAS SO WONDERFUL HOW THE TOWN SUPPORTS EACH OTHER, WHEN NEEDED. THE ENDING WAS SO PERFECT. I FINISHED READING THIS E-BOOK ON 11/17/2024.
Looking for a happy ending? A story with trials and celebrations, learning to communicate and two people falling in love? You will find just what you want inside Magic of Summer. I love all types of novels, but when I need my spirits lifted and a smile on my face, one author whom I know will deliver is Leeanna Morgan. I also love that she writes her books in series that I do not have to wait years to finish. I can’t wait to find out more about Anchor Lane since the only connection to Anchor Lane in this book was the project manager and the party planner who didn’t get one of the houses.
A real "feel-good" story. Yes, there is hardship. Yes, there are challenges and things go wrong. Lots of pressure. However, with a loving and supportive community and friends, the difficulties are worked through to bring about something even better. A truly HEA read. Leaves you feeling warm and happy.
This is a sweet read of two people who are at a cross roads in there lives. They have each survived a tragedy and are going on with their life the best way they know how. This brings them together and keeps them coming back. Acceptance and kindness is the theme. Ok read.
We follow Daniella as she moves to Sapphire Bay to keep a promise she’d made to her dying brother. She changes from the corporate world to and enchanted party venue. Harrison moves to town after the tragic death of his young wife. He is doing contract labor renovating cottages on Anchor Lane. They meet with unexpected results.
I absolutely loved this story. It had me in a mix of emotions. It was sad as to what had happened to both Harrison and Daniella. I was captivated in reading how they handled grief differently. How they were able to assist each other. To see how there friendship grew. It was a magical experience.
Charlie's and Harrison's story is captivating. They make a perfect couple and it was great to catch up with previous Sapphire Bay residents. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book.
This story is a great addition to the Anchor Lane series. Daniela keeps moving forward through family and business losses with the help of community of Sapphire Bay. Very well written!
Summer has its own special magic of more sunshine. And let’s add a special place called the Fairy Forest for enchanting parties. But there are plot twists. A lovely read to discover the story of Daniella and Harrison. Enjoy it.
It was a very well told story of love and loss and hope and new beginnings, it had me enraptured from the first few pages. Beautifully written. I'd gladly read more of her work and look forward to finding another treasure.
Overcoming grief do sound like an ideal situation to find love, but Daniella and Harrison it starts as friendship and grows to much more. More than anything I want to visit the Fairy Forest.
Lovely romance journey for two people who lost their spouses. Finding love again is not always easy, as memories can cause guilt and doubt. Daniella & Harrison were able to slowly find that new path to love again, with support from their combined families.
Really enjoyed this story. It was amazing to see how someone could change their life. Both characters did and brought happiness to each other and many others as well. Once you get into the story, you will not want to put it down.
Was pretty predictable in the beginning about Harrison and Daniella getting together by end but I still really did enjoy the first book in this series. I definitely plan to continue to read more about the other characters in the series
3.5 A sweet small town romance for sure. Liked that the two major characters had some serious loss issues to deal with as that deepened the story. Free ebook from the library.
DNF at 20%. So slow, boring, stilted dialogue-nothing that pulled me in enough to care about the main characters, their story, or the town. First book by this author and probably the last.
