Charles Ogden is the pen name used by a collection of authors at Star Farm Productions for the Edgar & Ellen book series for children and young adults. The pen name is credited with nine books (with a tenth upcoming), published by both Tricycle Press, and more recently, Simon & Schuster.

FINALLY I'M DONE WITH THIS SERIES. I don't say that, but this series was a huge part of my childhood, it's one of the first books I finished on my own and I've been looking for the rest of the series for YEARS before finally acquiring them all this year. It's such a relief to finally be done with this series.

I think this might be my second favorite after Tourist's Trap. It's suspenseful and showed the softer side of the Twins. It does feel too juvenile for me though now that I am much much older. I think it's been 10 years since I read the first one, and while I still can see the charm, fun and shenanigans this series have, I have to admit I am already too old for this series.

I totally want to revisit this series in the future, but for now, it's time for me to say good bye and thank you to this series.

A really good end to a good, solid series. The treasure hunt is fun, but the ending is just great. I really like how the last couple of books in the series work to make Edgar and Ellen more rounded. They'll ally with enemies if they need to and aren't too stubborn to realize that not all Knightleigh's are bad. (I like that the latter ends up in the show a bit.) Overall, skip the first book and enjoy a fun middle grade series.

This last novel restored a lot of the faith i had in this series; having to read through the preceding books to drown in nostalgia w this finale made it all worth it. This series founded my love for dark humour and revisiting it for the second time since my childhood has been so bittersweet 😭

Nod’s Limb, sebuah novel karangan Charles Ogden ini merupakan salah satu dari kumpulan kisah kenakalan Edgar dan Ellen, adik kaka yang tidak mengetahui dimana dan seperti apa orang tua mereka. Kisah petualangannya dimulai saat Edgar dan Ellen meluncurkan aksi kenakalannya saat syuting berlangsung di belakang pabrik lilin, dengan menyalakan mobil dan membiarkannya berjalan sendiri tanpa pengendara. Dan tanpa sengaja sang aktor kota Black Glide berhasil menemukan secarik kertas coklat kuno dengan tali emas di balik lukisan Augustus Nod yang ia tabrak. Surat tersebut merupakan pesan yang ditinggalkan sang pendiri kota sebagai surat wasiat. Ia menuliskan teka-teki yang sekiranya dapat dipecahkan bagi seorang Nod sejati. Dan teka-teki tersebut mengarah pada beberapa potongan emas yang sempat ia sembunyikan.
Kota Nod yang terkenal akan kedamaiannya, berubah menjadi kota dengan penuh ketegangan setelah ditemukannya surat wasita tersebut. Semua warga kota berlomba-lomba ingin menjadi ahli waris dari pendiri kota dan mendapatkan potongan emas yang tersembunyi.
Menanggapi hal tersebut Edgar dan Ellen tidak tinggal diam, mereka juga berusaha memecahkan teka-teki tersebut dan berusaha untuk mendapatkan potongan emasnya. Yang mereka harapkan, dengan potongan emas tersebut mereka bisa mendapatkan kembali rumah mereka dan juga mengobati peliharaan mereka (Pet) yang kini sedang sekarat.
Novel Edgar dan Ellen dengan judul Nod’s limb ini merupakan edisi ke-6 dari kisah Edgar dan Ellen karangan Charles ogden ini sungguh novel yang sangat mengesankan, dengan petualangan dan misteri penuh tanya. Seperti kisah-kisah Edgar dan Ellen dalam novel karya C. Odgen lainnya, ia bisa membuat pembaca penasaran akan kisah kenakalan adik kaka tersebut. Selalu penuh dengan misteri dan juga petualangan serta akal cerdik dari Edgar dan Ellen.
Pada awalnya, pembaca bisa saja tidak mengerti mengenai jalan awal cerita, karena bahasanya yang berupa bahasa terjemahan dan baru mengenal akan karakter dan semua latar yang ada (bagi pembaca yang baru membaca edisi ke enam ini). Namun, tidak perlu khawatir, dan tak perlu menyerah dan berhenti membacanya. Karena semua kisahnya akan menjadi sangat menarik di tengah perjalanan.

Ceritanya makin seru, dmn edgar dan ellen mencoba mempertahankan rumah mereka yg dsita musuh bebuyutan mereka,dan jg harus menyelamatkan pet yg lg sekarat.
Krn ulah mereka jg, akhirnya kota nod's limb dbikin gempar dgn pencarian harta karun sang Nod's.
Dsini ceritanya mulai mengalir seru dibanding seri2 buku sebelumnya.
Dsini lbh masuk akal kenakalan mereka sbg kenakalan anak kecil, dbanding buku2 yg sebelumnya. Dan lbh manusiawi.

Bener yg dibilang 'bila dihadapkan pd masalah yg penting dan sulit, tanyakan pd dirimu apa yg edgar dan ellen lakukan ? kemudian lakukan kebalikan dr yg mereka lakukan.

krn dr buku pertama sampai keenam, tetap disuguhkan cerita dmn mereka harus menebak teka/i yg tyata jawabannya selalu berbeda dr yg mereka lakukan, dan apa yg mereka rencanakan pasti bertolak blkg dgn hasil yg diharapkan..

Sedih jg seri ini harus berakhir,krn cukup menghibur.
Entah akan ada lanjutan seri berikutnya atau tdk, krn tulisan diakhir -THE END [hiks hiks hiks:]-

Ada yg ngerti ga maksud 'hiks hiks hiks' nya itu apakah akan selesai dibuku ke 6 ato cuma sekedar hiasan saja..

dari membaca buku pertama langsung ke buku ke 6 (buku terakhir sepertinya), bagai lompatan kemajuan.. entah dari sisi cerita, format buku yang lebih tebal, dan runutan cerita yang kompleks. Saya menikmati buku ini dalam arti sungguh menikmatinya.. Dan ending keluarga Knightleigh yang sengaja dibuat menggantung bagai buku kanak2 yang dulu saya baca (semasa kanak2) yang menempatkan suatu sumber imajinasi sendiri untuk pembaca kanak2.

This is a very quirky book. It is part fantasy part mystery. The characters are a bit bizarre but they are also fun. This is a series and this is book number 6. They do a good job of referencing the other books and putting them into context in this book but it is still better to read them in order.

A fitting ending, although I wish those bad people go to jail.
At least for now the twins can live peacefully with Pet.
Still, I'm wondering where the heck are their parents??
