An interesting look at Picasso's development and interpretation of his works. Picasso's art did have ideas behind it and things he was working out instead of just making a pleasing picture to the eye but I think sometimes critics are reading far too much into paintings and creating suppositions and academifiying art in terms of theory and meaning that just may not be there.

I wish that certain paintings that are talked about in depth were included and if they are put them closer to the actual text. That wasn't always true in the format I was reading.

Enjoy Picasso, don't enjoy this book, I think it is mess. Layout of the book, overall pretentious introductions (sure fine) book feels very inconsistent with information and is no means comprehensive.
