Rentaro’s tribe suffers a blow, as Hakari’s mom believes a smooth quintuple-timer can’t possibly treat her daughter right. Undaunted, it’s time for a high security caper, plus seeing how the other half lives. So hang on to your copyright lawyers and mommy milkers, this one’s ready to pop off!
This dumb, stupid, junk book. Not content to have its cake, it is hellbent on eating everybody’s cake at the same time, catering to every girl type, indulging dumb fetish stuff, showcasing idiotic gags, plus having a tendency to not so much break the fourth wall as to simply obliterate it from existence.
It has zero respect for itself, sacrificing everything for a laugh, and precious little for its audience of whoever thinks ancient boob jokes and peeping gags are some sort of hilarious shorthand for modern humour. Its plotting is so frequently contrived that it makes Rent-A-Girlfriend look like Monster.
And, naturally, that’s precisely why I can’t get enough of it.
Nothing about this stupid story should work and the sheer audacity of some of these story beats is so outrageous that my jaw nearly cracked it dropped so fast. Nothing is sacred and if you ever think the story won’t go there, you’re dead wrong.
Except for the one place it won’t, which is, ultimately, treating its characters with a modicum of respect (itself as a manga, no, the characters, yes). They don’t get humiliated without getting a reward later on and the way they all function as a core group is something else.
There’s also something to be said for the way this turns the usual harem goofery on its head - Rentaro is not a pervert in the slightest, nor does he want said situations to occur, instead his thirsty polycule are off trying to peep on him in the bath (and fret not, comeuppance for girl pervs is as satisfying as it is for guy pervs) and score with him constantly.
The nice thing is that this change makes sense - Rentaro is the most earnest bonehead ever put in one of these stories and, rather than accept the pathos of choosing one girl (typically the first one introduced in the series), he puts the work into loving all of them. Even those who might be a little a lot too old for him.
And I’m not going to pretend they justify half the crap they go after here, but they sure make a game attempt of it, at least. Rentaro’s devotion in the quiet moments makes this a lot more palatable than it could ever be otherwise. Much like 2.5 Dimensional Seduction, there’s a heart buried inside the smutty antics.
And, hey, dumb running gags can most definitely work and this story has no issue smashing one into the ground repeatedly until it becomes funny again. I loved the return of the unintentional bisexual antics of Karane and Hakari, who can’t seem to keep their hands off one another, and the endless utterances of ‘rich person’s such-and-such’ that keep coming up after the first section.
The omake featuring a variety of cat calls (not the ones you’re thinking about), some cross-dressing that turns in a whole other direction, and other parts that just straight up rip-off your name. (they even try to cram in some RADWIMPS for good measure) are only some of the nonsense going on.
Karane is the superstar of this story, just because she’s one of the best tsundere characters I’ve ever seen (right behind the one in Komi Can’t Communicate). Mostly because she is constantly at odds with her own typecast personality and likes Rentaro a heck of a lot.
The lie detector section perfectly encapsulates this manga’s dedication to the art of escalation, as a lame question about cup size moves on to mocking arcade strength machines and finally lands with a ridiculous series of increasingly embarrassing (and nauseatingly cute) proclamations.
Is this a good book? Hell no it is not. Problematic content, fan service literally in the chapter titles again (this book knows what a bonus story is for and it knows that you know too and it goes way beyond the pale anyway), that mommy milkers line… everything is ludicrous or in dubious taste. This is a sex farce that few would dare these days.
So this is just the grand excess of every book like this ever written and if it was going places before, well, it went there and just blew them up this time out. There’s arguably no surprise left because if you can imagine the most insane idea, things are probably headed that way. This is so, so much that it will, indeed, be way, way too much for many readers, I wager.
5 stars - please be aware that this series is a total travesty. It’s everything wrong with harem series and probably manga in general and crass, cheap, and uses the laziest jokes as often as it can. And I absolutely love it to death. If that makes no sense at all, well, you are now in the exact right headspace to best experience this series.

This volume was so much fun! I know it's utter trash, but I'm enjoying the heck out of it! So problematic but it doesn't take itself too seriously, so it's easy to let loose and have some fun. Can't wait to pick up the next volume soon.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really x5 Love You, Vol. 3 (My Kindle Review)
Volume three is definitely the most emotional and most zany entry yet.
Picking up from the previous volume’s cliffhanger, Hakari has forced by her vindictive mother Hahari to abandon Rentaro and the girls as she sees his love for her daughter as completely worthless and it’s up to them to rescue Hakari “M:I” style. Later, he must also prove their love is genuine to Hahari as we learn of her tragic past of lost love, having her daughter at thirteen and her spurning of love. Of course, it all comes together with a touching end and a huge personality flip on Hahari as she joins his family of love and goes all gaga for him. We later get a slumber party full of shenanigans and an interesting out-of-body experience. A (100%/Outstanding)

There were some decent laughs, and some… interesting parts in this volume for sure— but I dunno— there were some pretty ‘weird’ details (mostly relating to specified ages) the author added in on this one that were just uh… a little hard to get past.
I took off a half star for some of the… more iffy elements that kind took me out of the story for a bit.
As far as ‘polyamory’ themed manga with in-progress anime coming out go, I’m definitely preferring ‘Girlfriend, Girlfriend’ — mostly because it feels like there’s a specific plot to progress while being funny — while this one feels more like a gag manga with off-the-wall stuff happening, and then a few plot-ish bits here or there.

Whoa, I didn't expect to have dramatic character development in this series!
The end of volume 2 is a cliffhanger and volume 3 is entirely about its consequences. I wasn't sure where the series was leading in this sudden dramatic shift, but it managed to be intriguing and heartwarming at the same time!
I'm surprised by the author's and Rentaro's emotional maturity regarding the tragic backstory in this volume but, again, I'm amazed by how awesome this series is.
Each of the girls is still involved and contributes to the plot, and each have their own time to shine, and there are new developments between them.
I love this series so far and I'm excited for volume 4!

A laugh until you realize you’re out of control loud volume that has ratcheted this series into 5 star territory. It is so sweet and head-scratching whacked I couldn’t read it fast enough. Rentaro is the perfect protagonist, forthright and loving, so very unbelievable, yet you can’t help but love him, like the girls and now a woman do. It’s been said this will be animated. I’m sooooo looking forward to chapters 17 to 22. If they do it right, it’ll be legendary!

This series continues to be absolutely ridiculous.
Zany ALMOST to the point of breaking.
They present situations and contrivances that I tend dislike in so many other manga. But here everything is present with such a rare mix of sincerity and comedy, that I feel like I just can't stay mad at any of the stupid things that happen.

Rentarou is a gigachad. Not because he a 100 girlfriends but because he's a genuinely nice and loving person who risks it all to make everyone happy.
Sure it's slightly problematic that he has this weird multiple wives thing going on but let's just chalk it up to mutual-understand polysexuals.
