I have been a fan of the Zombie genre for a long time now, and i had never found a good Zombie book, so I resorted to Movies and Games to entertain my obsession.
As soon as i heard about this book i didn't hesitate to get my hands on it and give it a go. The thought of a choose your own adventure Zombie book was awesome, and from the first chapter i knew i was onto a winner.
This is not the type of book you read before bed, its the book you make yourself a cuppa, find a comfy chair and ignore the world around you while you emerge yourself in the story. I found it hard to put it down at the end of a chapter, especially when faced with a decision which could ultimately decide whether or not my chosen adventure was about to end.
I have read this book through five times now and always changing my decisions to make my adventure a little different every time, and i am always surprised on how far I emerge myself into the story.
I have also read the short story preceding this book (DBZ: A Road to somewhere) and once again C.G.Chase does not disappoint.
So in summary if you are after a book to really get into look no further and find that comfy chair and get stuck into it!
This was a really interesting way to read a zombie novel. It was classic Choose Your Own Adventure which was really different and kind of fun. At first, it was hard to get used to the writing style. It's laid out as, "You go to the fence. You throw the bag over the fence." Kinda weird, but it just took some getting used to then it was fine. It becomes less jarring once new characters are involved. You feel less removed from the story and more involved as there are other people to become attached to. Really a fun read. Good writing and world building. Just be prepared for the initial adjustment to the style and you'll be fine :)
