He 400th anniversary of a the execution of a local witch is coming up and 14 year old Tom Storey is experienced burning sensations when it is being discussed or he thinks about it. It leads him to do some investigation into the history. I found the story interesting and a good concept, but the writing could have done with being edited a little more as it didn't always flow as well as it could have done. I love the idea of people stretching out across the centuries and also the fact that what you are told in history depends on the teller. Well worth a read

An enjoyable story, involving a boy tracing his family tree and uncovering all sorts of mysteries and scandals along the way. I did find the writing style tricky though, especially at first. Worth persisting with though!
