Clint Wolf is back, and he’s teaming up with retired police sniper London Carter to face down some of the most formidable criminals he’s ever encountered.
After government officials deemed their property uninhabitable, residents of a small Louisiana island were forced from their homes and relocated to a tiny piece of barren land. One family, refusing to go along with the government’s relocation efforts, headed east into the Forbidden Swamps, where they lived in peace for decades.
But now…they’re being hunted.
When an injured kid makes it out of the Forbidden Swamps and reports the slaughter of three other teenagers, Clint Wolf and Melvin Saltzman head into the jungle to find the crime scene and search for victims. What they encounter is much more than they bargained for, and they soon find their own lives in jeopardy.
London Carter is visiting his grandparents in Galliano, Louisiana when he learns of Clint's troubles, and he immediately heads into the swamps to search for his friend. When London runs into danger of his own, it looks like he might’ve come out of retirement only to be killed in the mosquito-infested jungles of Mechant Loup.

One of the best Clint Wolf novels yet. Totally enjoyed the author’s skill in weaving the plot through the eyes of several main characters. No wonder I had to wait with bated breath for this novel to appear. Obviously took awhile to structure the plot then put the action in play! Hopefully the next episode in Clint’s life won’t take as long! Loved it!
Just finished # 28. Usually it takes me awhile to figure the culprit out. This time I caught it early. I love these books and all the characters. I get so into all these books, its like I'm right in the book. Can't wait for the next books. Thank you so much.
Another great book in the Clint, Susan and co series. When developers start buying up property and little by little controlling more and more of the businesses in town, people start to become uneasy with the changes. When a new big box store is announced the locals start protesting. When one such protest turns violent, Susan and her officers are tied up dealing with the injuries and the fallout. During this time, Clint is sent out on the water with Melvin to investigate a potential shooting after a young man is brought to shore having been shot and saying his friends were also shot.
What follows is a fast paced storyline that will keep you enthralled. As the investigations progress, some of the towns long standing and high ranking officials are implicated and the whole mess will leave several people dead and leave several of the towns police force shot and fighting to survive.
This one had a different feel from the rest of the series. It was more like a thriller than a police procedural but had snippets of a mystery interspersed with the high-tension scenes so our hearts could take a break. It was a refreshing change, especially as we still had emotional character moments.
I saw how the two seemingly unconnected events were connected from the beginning, but that didn’t dampen my enjoyment. Especially because two of my favorite side characters were heavily featured. Another strong installment.
I finished this book in record time. I kept waiting for the charges against the corporate scoundrels who masterminded the plot to be down played and moved to secondary action. Instead, Susan's intellectual role in uncovering the extent of the crime was smoothly ramped up, while Clint and company did what he does best--keep the suspense level high and the pages turning. Great read!
Silly silly silly, all superman BS, . Author obviously did some background work , but what good is it can you just jab it into it story it doesn't make any sense? BJ borg??? Author sounds like she's a young woman, I can't imagine a man would write this kind of Silly garbage.
It’s not often you decide to read a thriller or mystery series again, and less often that you didn’t regret it, but I want to tell everyone that my 2nd trip through Clint Wolf’s life was far better than the 1st. Already being familiar with the many characters just made it better, and the 2 new books I hadn’t read yet were icing on the cake. Well done, BJB!
Love the Clint Wolf series ! I have enjoyed every story and can't wait till the next one comes out. BJ you have quite the imagination and do an epic job of writing your storyline. Thank you for not ruining your stories with a bunch of useless drama like some writers do. I love all the characters good and bad!
OMG! THIS WAS GREAT! BUT FOR ME ALL OF THIS AUTHOR'S BOOKS ARE GREAT, I'VE READ ALL OF THE LONDON SERIES & ALL BUT THE LAST 2 OF THIS SERIES. I WAS AFRAID TO KEEP READING FOR FEAR THAT SOMETHING WOULD HAPPEN TO ONE OF MY FAV'S AND AFRAID TO STOP FOR FEAR I'D MISS SOMTHING. I WAS TRULY ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT; I LOVED IT. BRAVO YOU DID IT ONCE AGAIN (insert applause here). ;D
Really very good. Maybe the best yet. This was really nonstop action and suspense. While it became clear who the main bad guy was towards the last quarter of the book, there were still some unpredictable twists, all the way to the end. There is also the introduction of a new character who may become part of the team…seeming to be an interesting character.
Well, of course,BJ Bourg did it again! I have read and enjoyed all of his books. This was another excellent story. His characters are great! Looking forward to the next adventure !
WOW, WOW, WOW - my heart was in my mouth and I was close to tears with each turn of the page, I wanted to jump in the book to help them. This has to be the best in the series. Bring on the next Clint case and the next London case ❤️❤️
Each book in the series keeps you wanting more. This one is exiting and intense. I love how family, friends, and coworkers are always melded into wonderful "who done it" stories!
Another outstanding book, written by a true master of story telling. So many twists and turn it has the reader not just wanting to know what's next but needing to know. Anyone looking for one of the best series available, look not further.
What a fantastic book. The author puts you right in the crosshairs. I found myself ducking down while reading. Incredibly intense and I loved it. He can’t write fast enough for me!
OMG. This series will always be my favorite series. This book kept me intrigued through the whole book. I can't wait until the next book comes out . I highly recommend this book and series. I love this series.
Great characters but now I need to read the previous books to know the back stories. I enjoyed the dual storyline that merged at the end. Wonderful local description.
BJ know how to spin a great story. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. Plus the series keeps you up to date on the family and crew that is part of it. This is for adventure and mystery.
This story line was on point. We have become a country where whatever the cost to obtain power we are willing to do and pay. The real introduction of some old Friends shown what true friendship is all about. Great read fill a lot of action.
You can not do justice to BJ when attempting to write a review about perfection in writing, complexity of his characters, the story line, and non stop action, read the book in 5 hours could not put it down.
The plot to this book was definitely weak. The hunt through the woods was quite boring. Chapter after chapter describing crawling and listening for a sniper got really old.
If you don't stop killing off children and the good guys, I'm going to stop reading your books! We lose enough good guys and kids in real life. I don't want to read about it when I'm trying to enjoy a good book!
Teenagers are found shot in the swamp, and Clint and Melvin begin investigating. They are pinned down by a sniper, and London flies into help. Fast-paced action-packed story
This book is mainly about a sniper war in the swamp at night. I think it treats bullet wounds a bit too lightly, like a leg wound went through and through so no damage, the action is very vivid.
