From Plato to Edgar Cayce, authors have attempted to describe the mysterious rumored civilization of the distant past called Atlantis. They have speculated about its geography, history, culture, demise and impact on the world as we know it now. Most or all of that remains conjecture until, if ever, some archeological discovery proves otherwise. However, one has to wonder if visionary fiction author Jodine Turner has discovered some secret portal that allowed her access to that fabled land in person. The Awakening not only is true to what little history and geography is available about Atlantis, but her plot is engaging and her characters are peopled with souls, minds and hearts fully developed. While reading her novel, one is completely transported to that realm, but at the same time its relevance to the present plays in the background. Highly recommended to Atlantis fans, visionary fiction buffs, and enthusiast of alternative history and spirituality.

What a great spiritual thriller about Goddess worshipping priestesses and priests. I liked how it contained romance, yet the story was not overpowered by it.
