Jenny must save her husband from himself when he embarks on a dangerous mission of revenge that will destroy them both, unless the power of love can heal his wounded soul and bring them back together. Original.
I've always been a writer. Ever since I could remember my biggest desire was to put words to paper. Finally my dreams of publication came true in 2002 with the release of Chase The Wind, the first book in my historical family saga. But I've also looked to the stars since I was a small girl. Which led to my writing of Futuristic Action Romance under the pen name Colby Hodge. And since I've got a knack for relating to teens, I also enjoy writing for them under the name Kassy Tayler.
And just so you know a bit about me. I've been married for several years to the man of my dreams. We've also raised two exceptional sons and enjoy life in the shadow of Pilot Mountain in NC where we share our home with a long haired dauschund and a cat who thinks she's the queen of the world.
3.5 * I enjoyed the book but I liked the first one a lot better...this was still a fun read though. One of my favorite parts was when Jenny told Chase that she was fat and swollen and her hair was a mess and his sweet reply to her was "your carrying my child and your beautiful" awww. This story just seemed to drag on and on at certain parts. Loved little baby fox at the end (read to find out :) ) and of course Chance
This book started where book one ended. Once again I was taken on a journey, that made me laugh, cry, love, cry some more. More twists then I thought possible. The time line of the story ends with us in the beginning of the Civil War. Looking forward to reading more of this series. Getting to know more about each ranch hand, getting to know more of the history of each person. And revisiting and catching up with Jason, Grace, Chase, Jenny, and t g e children.
Oh, my Lord!!! I read the prequel (Chase The Wind) to this book 15 years ago. I became so invested in the characters that I was actually afraid to read this book (Wolf of the Wind). I have to say this book was as dynamic and emotional as the first. I highly recommend both books.
This book is the second book of the Wind series. I would recommend reading these books in order, though this could be a stand-alone book if you didn't really care about the character's history. There is a lot that goes on in the first book that the writer doesn't re-explain in this one, so if you read them out of order I feel like you would be missing out on key important information. Plus the first book has a lot of character development that helps you get to know what the characters are like, when in this one it is written like you are expected to already know the characters. And it is just a good read in general! Check out Chase the Wind, which I have also reviewed.
After finishing the first book, Chase the Wind, and seeing how that ended, I was hoping that this would be a happier book and a little more lighthearted. The beginning started basically right where the first book left off, as if the writer just continued writing. It starts off pretty fun and lovable, much like the first book, but it doesn't take long for this to turn really depressing and dark. I would say that this book is more of a western/adventure book than a romance, so there were times where I skimmed over a few pages just because it felt like I was reading the same thing over and over. The first book was obviously centered around love, but this one felt more like a revenge book. This is still a good story, especially if you got attached to the characters in the first book like I did. And the ending leaves you eager to read the next!
The next section has some spoilers. Beware!
Like in the first book, this book starts as a really happy love story. You still have all the characters that the first book had. Some of the new characters include
And then, also like the first book, the happy love story ends very suddenly and very tragically. After that, the book becomes more like a western adventure book of Chase running off in a vengeance. It is not my favorite kind of story, but it still hooks you and keeps you turning every page.
I love how the book ends, and am eager to start the third!
The author put us in everybodies head, sometimes at the same. There was a time I didn't mind the shifts in the characters thoughts, now it bothers me because I'm trying to be a writer myself. I enjoyed the story, the hurt and pain and misunderstandings, but the switches in POV bothered.
highly recommended reading, but keep a box of tissues close at hand. It's heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. This is a series of books that I am anxious to continue with. Excellent writer. Really draws you in
This was ok but a little weird. The dreams sequences were okay but to me a little hard to follow. Not one of the best I have read but not onne of the worst
