Did take longer than 31 days and it was hard to get the consistent message flow, but overall a book that should be read... It is all about trusting God because he is sovereign...

How can you learn to trust God even in your darkest days? In 31 Days toward Trusting God, Jerry Bridges shows you God’s sovereignty, and tells you that it is good to choose to trust Him.

Based on his book Trusting God Even When Life Hurts, it was written in the midst of personal difficulty and pain. Bridges’ wife Eleanor had been diagnosed with cancer. This is a distilling of that book, and broken down into 31 short chapters, each being about 2-3 pages in length.

Reason to Rejoice

Each devotion opens with a verse from the Bible, and Bridges speaks about it in simple and straightforward terms. His stories and illustrations will stir your affections and compel you towards Christ. His writing is warm and inviting, giving you hope and a reason to rejoice in God.

Bridges’ wife Eleanor died after his original book was published, but he still stands by the truth contained in its pages. God has specific purposes for our suffering, and he remains good. I am moved to trust my Master and my Maker. His mercies are new every morning.

I received a media copy of 31 Days toward Trusting God and this is my honest review.

This is a great devotional for when you are facing adversity which we all will face at sometime throughout our lives. All things are in God's control and He either orchestrates the events or allows them to happen. All of it is for a reason which we might not see as we are dealing with the adversity or we may never see but God will take the bad and use it for our development and/or His glory. We just need to trust God as we are going through it.

I know how hard it is when these things are happening to us. I have faced adversity of my own making and adversity which I wasn't at fault or didn't see how I was at fault. In each time I have struggled with why the event was happening and why I even believe in a God who loves me. In these times my faith has been tested and strengthened. I have also found my relationship with God has deepened in these times. Did I love those time? Absolutely not. Do I want to go through them again? No way. Yet I know that God has brought good through them.

This devotional helps you to get a perspective on what is going on in your life when things seem so bad. I recommend it to everyone because this life we live is not a walk in the park without travail.

Really GOOD

I was going through a time of adversity and trusting God was something I struggled with but the adversity I was experiencing was one in which I had no control and trusting God was all I could do! This book opened my eyes to Gods sovereignty and that we should trust God at ALL TIMES (goods times, minor and major adversities) and to be thankful at all times. This book has truly deepened my relationship with God and as the days were winding down to the end of the book I started to feel sad because I truly looked forward to reading it daily... so if you are someone who is experiencing adversity, have a hard time trusting God or just looking for a devotional that will help you on your spiritual journey and yearning to deepen your relationship with God. THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!!!! You will learn so much invaluable things! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Thanks to the author for following God’s direction in writing this book! Be blessed to all who gets the chance to read this book! :)

A can’t say enough about this book!! A little book packed so full of wisdom and truth!! The most meaningful and impactful book I have ever read on the sovereignty of God! “ To grow in your ability to trust Him in times of adversity, you must first lay a solid foundation of a daily personal relationship with Him. Only as you know Him intimately and seek to obey him completely. Will you be able to establish a trust relationship with Him.”

I Eread this book with my siblings and mom over the last month. Maybe not my favorite devotional , but solid and still things to learn and grow in. This was definitely more about the conversations that others sparked than the lightbulb moments from within the pages. But I thing God uses pretty much everything we are studying and can illuminate it to us more.

This is an extremely helpful book for someone to read while they are going through any kind of advertising. Through this book Jerry Bridges teaches us to trust God even in the hardest of situations. Very simple and biblical.

One of the better devotionals I have read. This was gifted to me by a friend who highly recommends this book to everyone. I did find it useful to be reminded of the things that were said in this book and would read it again in the future, something I wouldn’t say about other devotionals I have read.
