The biography does a good job talking about the key points in Jonas Salk's life, along with the journey he took to create the polio vaccine. This includes his successes in the field of medical research and the way he eventually became well known. The author also describes some of the issues that happened after the vaccine was initially released to the public, including cases where it was made incorrectly, causing the virus instead of preventing it. The steps he took to become such a well known scientist were explained thoroughly and the scientific procedures are made clear. I rated this book three stars because it explains his accomplishments well, but could be more descriptive when talking about his other achievements in his studies.
