Ugh, I had such high hopes for this book. Aliens, naughty backroom boutiques, and the possibility of tail sex! What's not to like? Apparently, many things.

This book was fluffy to the extreme. Insta-love (they knew nothing about each other- nothing!), schmaltzy writing, rapid POV shifts from paragraph to paragraph (sometimes sentence to sentence!), and a alien plot with absolutely no back story... to say I was disappointed is a vast understatement.

At first I thought it was cute and kind of went with it, but then I grew annoyed with the style and characters. Everything just barely skimmed the surface, there was nothing deeper. And, though it was only 100 pages, I found myself growing bored by the end.

The best part of this book, by far, was .

I can’t wait for more! This is a cute, sweet, fluffy, fast read that I didn’t want to see end. I love these guys especially Taz. He is so freakin adorable I would take him home in a heartbeat. Poor Taz he comes to earth from a distant planet with Vor someone he’s wanted to notice him for a while so when Vor asks Taz to join him on a trip to Earth he thinks he’s died and gone to heaven.
Unfortunately Vor is using him to make someone else jealousy and promptly dumps him at the Empire State Building when they get to Earth. Alone with no money, no clothes and no idea how to get back to the hotel that Vor make reservations at he’s left to fend for himself.

Reed is an owner of a clothing store that has a backroom with...let’s say, adult merchandise for sale and when one of his big customers asks for something from there to be delivered to the Empire State Building Reed goes and literally gets tangled up with Taz and an instant attraction happens between them. As much as I’m not a fan of insta-love this one works. Reed doesn’t know Taz is an Alien with ummm...interesting abilities or that Aliens have been visiting Earth for a while but he finds out soon enough and the hilarity begins.

I loved this little story and I see it’s a first in a series I just hope the next is as sweet and fun as this one and that Reed and Taz will be in it again.

Be My Alien is one of the first alien books I have ever read, it might even be my first. I found myself in love with the way aliens were described and the story was fun, cute and sexy. It was a nice easy read, with insta-love galore for us fans. I only wish it had been longer, but at the same time it was perfect.

Taz was on a date with someone who used him. In the end it was the best thing that could have happened to him because he ran into Reed, literally. From there we get a really nice fun scene with them eating. Reed, well he was not prepared for what came next, which included him getting lost in the haze of lust that fell over him. The first sex scene was just...

Spoiler

I loved the use of the endearment kitten I found it so sweet and just adorable. It fitted the story and the couple perfectly. Reed and Taz had a lot of sweet/cute scenes together. I loved reading it and I found myself giggling a bit. You would have to read it to see what I'm talking about. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a book with an alien.

Highly recommend this book!

Taz, an alien with some cat-likeness, but mostly when he's horny. Now poor Taz, was sort of used and tricked into a visit to earth and then promptly dumped.
Stranded with no money, no clothes, no idea what to do, fate helps him out when he literally falls into and onto Reed.
Reed and Taz are immensity attracted to each other and barely manage a meal before they make it to bed. Of course being turned on brings out the kitten in Taz, remember? So..Reed needs to decide if the stripes and a little bit of a tail is going to stop him from having Taz.
There is some dramarama and a cute ending.
This was a quick, and sex filled cute Short story. I'd like to know how things continue for them and if evil asshat Vorlord (I kept thinking of him as Voldemort) gets his comeuppance but the guy on the cover is too blond for how I pictured Taz from his description.

Be My Alien is a cute, short, fluffy read. If you go into this book knowing that it’s nothing more than a sweet feel good story you won’t be disappointed. If you’re expecting a complicated plot with character growth you’re not going to get it.

This was a cute light-hearted and fun read. Taz is a Tygrian from space and Reed is a human from Earth. Taz comes to Earth with another guy but it doesn't work out and Taz is left stranded on a strange planet with no knowledge of how to get home. Enter Reed. The two literally stumble into each other and its instalove/lust. Despite the short length, their relationship is believable, though Reed's reaction to Taz being an alien could have been prolonged. However, since this is a novella, I like the author(s) show of humor which helped alleviate the "yeah the fuck right" moment when their lust kicked back into high gear 2 minutes after Reed finding out Taz was an alien. I loved the brandishing the remote scene and wish we could have had more scenes with voldemort (yes, I know, not his real name). I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to read more of this series.

A lonely men's boutique owner. A lost alien who does interesting things when his tail comes out to play. A quick love story about two men from two different worlds (literally) who find each other and fall in love.

A fun, sexy read.

** spoilerish, I suppose **

Ah… It was not apparent immediately but we have the head-hopping kind of collaboration again. Basically two authors role-playing together.

Having those little scene breaks for viewpoint switches all the time is ridiculously, since even within those short pieces the viewpoint is shared. I can’t decide whether it’s the writing that is hopelessly clumsy or whether the problem consists of a major fail to edit this work by two people into something that flows well.

Things were okay at first, interesting even.
But when Reed completely lost it and turned into a raving idiot and jerk (his reaction to Taz’ stripes is ridiculous; his conclusion makes no sense and he goes into an all out panic based on them), I lost any sympathy for him.
With that disconnect the switch to sex seemed awkward and superficial and the story just never recovered.

It was a little-known fact that many of the men of Trygos were infamous for their ability to handily deep throat their lovers.

So much wrong with that sentence.
One, if it’s little known, how can they be infamous? (Also, “infamous” is not actually describing something good – while I see nothing vile in the ability to give pleasure.)
Two, are you suggesting that the majority of Trygos men are gay or bisexual? In the first case, some more explanations might be necessary regarding procreation. I mean why only the males? There has to be a reason for saying it like this since it’d make a lot more sense to include all members of Taz’ species. So are we looking at an all-male population? Or do the women not fancy men? Or do they have smaller throats or refuse to give oral? Which is it?

Don’t let me get started on the phrases and customs that Taz either unbelievably understands – or inexplicably does not understand despite their fairly basic nature.
I also wish to know what was wrong with the coffee machine. Did Taz try to operate it by voice, or what?

So Reed’s shop is basically a gay sex shop masquerading as an upscale boutique. And do people really buy sex toys made of platinum and diamonds? I mean… diamonds? They’d obviously be facetted and that can’t be comfortable for insertion… *shudder*

Yeah, after one day of shopping and sex Taz decides this guy is so cool and this feels so nice that he wants to stay on an alien planet forever. Because I am sure that day is totally representative of what his life would be like on Earth. Work? Bah, who needs to work? That day and a half literally consisted of nothing but seductive playing around and expensive gifts.

At that point I got a little creeped out because Taz was being so childlike.

As it is I felt a little sorry for Taz but everything else left me pretty much cold. The characters, the plot. The sequence of emotions – none of it is even slightly believable. And I am not referring to the fact that aliens are involved. I read about fantastic elements all the time. The writing is simply immature.

This first book in a hopefully very long series is a very cute, sort-of sci-fi story about an alien stranded on Earth after being dumped on a date, and the human who discovers that not all aliens are evil. Sort-of sci-fi because it is anything but a scientifically accurate story about outer space or alien life forms. It isn’t, in fact, even really about the alien, although Taz does have a few unusual attributes. No, what this story really is about is true love, and the fact that it doesn't really matter where the two men were born or that they are of different species, they were just meant to be together. With delightful dollops of humor, comments that made me laugh, and incredible passion between the two almost instantly in love men, this is a wonderfully uplifting story.

Taz has no idea what he's in for when he accompanies Vorlod on a date to Earth. Never mind why they come here of all places (other than it seems to be a cheap place to go), it turns out Vorlod only took Taz because he wanted to make another guy jealous. Once Taz is dumped, he has no idea what to do or how to survive. Luckily, Reed comes to the rescue and the two really hit it off. A few linguistic and cultural barriers may stand in their way, but not for long.

Reed has no idea what he's in for when he picks up this cute guy and takes him home. His freak-out scene when he discovers Taz has stripes when he gets aroused was short, to the point, and, considering I wasn't the one confronted with an alien, I thought it was utterly hilarious. He calms down as quickly as he gets upset, and proceeds to get down to business with Taz. By the time he finds out the cute guy also has a tail, he is almost blase about it. Besides, that tail is being put to excellent use…

The two men are wonderful together, and just when I thought everything was fine, the ugly Vorlod raises his head. I could have kicked him, but the angst that followed made the very happy ending all he better! If you like your sci-fi with a serving of humor, and a large side of lovely non-realism, if you like reading about two men falling for each other faster than you can blink, and if you're looking for a hot read that will make you laugh, you will probably like this short book as much as I did. I'm still giggling!

While sci-fi type books are not my usual read, this one did strike my interest on many levels. Who wouldn’t want to read about aliens coming to Earth to visit and NOT want to destroy the world? Ok so if they were going to destroy the world that would have been funny, but still.

In this book we meet Taz, the alien who is on for a vacation. His character was described very well on many levels. You could feel his emotions as he was going through them all. Which I think is really good on the writing level if an author can do that to the characters. MA and Julie (I’m going to refer to them as M&J for this post) were able to bring his character to life with their writing. Reed’s character was written good, not as great as Taz’s but still pretty good. I think because the fact that Reed is just an “Earthling” he didn’t need to be described as much.

I did enjoy this story a lot, but there was one issue with it that still bugs me to a degree. And I’m trying to not give too much away but when you get to the part you will understand. I don’t agree with how Reed’s description was so head on when he realized what Taz was. To me, that was too much to go with. It would have been better if Reed hadn’t given a description (In my opinion). Overall thought I thought this was a pretty good read. I would recommend it to friends who enjoy sci-fi type books.

“Be My Alien”, by MA Church and Julie Lynn Hayes, starts with Taz being dumped while on a date to Earth. Vorlod, who Taz has liked for quite some time, was simply using Taz to make another man jealous. Vorlod abandons Taz on a viewing platform of the Empire State Building. He doesn’t have money, a place to stay, or a way to get home. Taz is very lucky Reed is delivering a package to a wealthy client on the very same viewing platform. Reed catches Taz when he falls. It’s lust at first sight. When Taz’s stomach growls Reed can’t not take him for food. When Reed learns of Taz’s disastrous date he can’t not take care of him. It doesn’t hurt he really wants Taz. Taking the sexy stranger home was a decision easily made. Once things get hot and heavy between Reed and Taz back at Reed’s place Reed begins to notice some anomalies on Taz. Tiger stripes on his skin kind of anomalies that bring to mind a science fiction story about aliens. Reed quickly puts together all the little things that are odd or anomalous and correctly surmises Taz is an alien. Despite that Reed is unable to turn away the sexy and somewhat fragile man. Even though Taz is quite literally an alien Reed still likes and wants him....

This is a delightful little story -- part science fiction, part fantasy, and whole lot of love story!

Here's the story in a nutshell. Taz is an alien, and he comes to Earth on a short vacation with Vorlod, another male from his planet. Well, Vorlod is not a nice guy, and is intent to dump Taz for another guy from their planet. In fact, the whole Earth vacation is just a set-up for Vorlod to spend time with the other man from their home planet.

Well, Taz gets dumped and is left here on Earth with nothing and nobody. Along comes Reed who meets Taz (doesn't know he is a space alien) and falls head-over-heels in love with Taz' charming naive personality. Although they are different species from different planets, this story demonstrates that love conquers all. There are love scenes, there is conflict, and there is a wonderful happily ever after ending.

The main characters are well-developed, and although the story is very short, the authors leave you feeling something for both Taz and Reed. This is quite a little gem that I recommend enthusiastically. The only thing preventing it from getting five stars is that it is too darn short. I just wished I could have read more about these wonderful characters. Solid four star review from me.

I gave it three stars because I felt the whole Vorlod kidnapping deal was a bit unnecessary. Vorlod's motives made no sense, and it wasn't really explained as to how Taz got away. I think the story would have been a lot better had that been explained more. Overall, I loved the immediate connection that Taz and Reed had. It was fluff, to be sure, but it was fun to read.

Taz comes to Earth on a date with Vorlod and gets dumped by him for another. While Taz is feeling down and unsure if he can even get home, he runs into Reed. They are attracted to each other and act on it. Their feelings quickly evolve into love. A wrench is thrown into the works when Vorlod kidnaps Taz intending on taking him back to Trygos no matter what Taz wants. Taz manages to escape and returns to Reed where they confess their feelings.

Be My Alien is a purr-fectly delightful sci-fi romance novella. It’s a quick read as the author keeps the story flowing constantly, which kept me entertained and engaged without feeling as though I was being rushed through Reed and Taz’s story. Within just the first few pages I found myself cringing at Taz’s predicament – being used as a pawn to make another man jealous, he finds himself stranded with no money, no clothes, and nowhere to go. Choosing to remain at their sight-seeing destination – the Empire State Building – he ends up getting knocked down by some pushy tourists, talk about kicking a guy when he’s down. Yet his lesson in gravity proves to be quite fortuitous when he lands on Reed, literally.

Reed, being the nice guy he is, takes it upon himself to invite Taz out for a quick bite to eat. But his invite isn’t entirely altruistic as he finds himself attracted to Taz, something that hasn’t happened in far too long. Over their very brief meal, one thing leads to another and Reed is inviting Taz back to his place. The scenes that follow are both hilarious and hot as heck when Reed discovers that Taz isn’t quite what he seems and that there are some very stimulating benefits to having an alien lover. As this is a novella, the claims of love are made rather quickly but this was not too surprising as Taz is on a travel schedule – one he is ready to throw out in order to remain on Earth with Reed. What I did not expect was the sequence of events that occurred when Vorlod (aka jerk-face user) shows back up. I found myself flying through the remainder of the book so I could find out how the situation was resolved. Thankfully, Ms. Church didn’t keep me waiting on bated breath too long and gave me a wonderful ending to this installment as well as a great setup for the next book in the series. I enjoyed Be My Alien and have added Be My Human to my to-be read list so that I can find out what the future holds for Taz and Reed.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Taz is left miserable when he is dumped during a date on Earth, and what’s worse he is left stranded with no clothes, nowhere to stay and no way home until sexy Reed comes to his rescue. Reed is doing a last minute delivery when he finds himself with an armful of sexy man, taking pity on the young man who seems so lost and alone he takes him for coffee, which quickly leads to more, but just what is Reed to do when he discovers Taz is an alien?

Be My Alien is a cute light-hearted story that will warm you up with its sweetness. Reed has been too busy with his boutique to really have a relationship, meeting Taz when he is dropping a last minute gift off to a client pulls him into being spontaneous. Taz is sweet and naïve but far from innocent, being dumped on a date leaves him with no clue what to do next, meeting Reed has him acting without thinking and during an intimate moment reveals all of himself to Reed whose reaction scares him.

I did enjoy this story and Taz is such a cutie and Reed so charming that you can’t help but fall a little in love with them, the story is a little basic in a way, Taz and Reed meeting when Taz is left stranded, instant lust and then love following quickly… of course there’s that little bit extra of Reed discovering Taz is an alien and Taz’s original date, Vorlod, trying to throw a spanner in the works. The sex between them is wow and you have to watch out for Taz’s tail. This is a great story to read while relaxing out in the sun, or in my case stuck in the back of a car during a traffic jam on the way home from the beach ;-)

I recommend this to those who love cute aliens, charming rescuers, hot sex, a touch of selfish nasty baddie, finding love and a very happy ending.

This novella is set over a couple of day period around Valentine Day in New York City. Taz is from Trygos and has come to NYC with Vorlod, he’s hoping that this is a romantic getaway for them. As soon as they land Vorlod hooks up with another alien, Truba and leaves Taz alone in the city, no clothes, no money, nowhere to go. Reed owns a clothing store and just as he’s leaving a very special client calls needing a special gift dropped off, just so happens that the drop off is the Empire State Building, which is where Taz is still. By fate they run into each other and Reed takes one look and him
and offers to buy him dinner. What else happens after dinner, who knows?
This is a quick, sexual read about two people meeting, falling in love, losing each other and finding each other. I enjoyed the insta-love between Taz and Reed and the fact that Reed takes one look and hears his story and wham, is all about helping him. My issue was the kidnapping, just didn't make sense, so if Truba hadn't dumped Vorlod would Vorlod still try and kidnap Taz? I got the part about not wanting to go to prison but why? What’s so special about Taz? Felt very incomplete.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A short, sweet and fun sci-fi paranormal M/M romance that introduces us to a new breed of alien that will be sure to linger in your mind for some time to come. A definite fun escape for any fans of the genre.

Taz is visiting earth on a date. Left alone to fend for himself, he cannot help but absorb and enjoy all earth’s beauty. Having no choice but to drift away in thought, he quickly finds himself out of the awkward situation and in a much more…comfortable one that he never wants to leave!

Reed is a 30 year old shop owner that just does not make the time to date or enjoy any of life’s pleasures. One evening while making a delivery, he finds himself taken by this sexy man that has LITERALLY landed on top of him. He also cannot help but wonder if the man feels the same way towards him.

This is the first book of the Moonlit Skies series and a great start! I find my interest peeked and I am looking forward to more. I’m hoping the authors plan to give us more of Taz and Reed. Their relationship bloomed rather quickly and I’d love to know how it progressed :)

3.5 rounded to a solid 4 rating.

This is a cute novella. A fluffy romantic escape with an alien theme set around Valentines Day. It’s a short story so the insta-love makes sense, but it made for a lot of change in a very short time period.

Taz is adorable. A sweet combination of innocent and kinky with a sexy helping of exotic. Marooned on a strange planet he is trying to figure out Earth when he spots the delicious and interesting Reed. He quickly becomes addicted to coffee, Reed and the back room at Reed’s shop.

Reed is a responsible small business owner who has forgotten how to have fun and relax. I enjoyed watching him let go and have fun while falling for his sexy kitty.

A pretty boilerplate story full of love and sex, with a little kink thrown in for variety. It isn’t going to change your world and can’t really be considered a sci-fi or fantasy in the truest sense. It is a sweet and dirty little bite, at 100 pages, that will have you smiling and wishing you could find your own sexy alien.

With slightly less than 100 pages, I would say this likely qualifies as a novella instead of a full novel. But, although fairly short, it packs a lot into its length.

In essence, it is a boy meet boy, boy loses boy and boy finds boy again but on an interspecies basis. Reed Thatcher is a 30-year-old human that moved from the southern part of the United States to New York City and opened a men's shop that sells high-end men's clothes but has a backroom that caters to more personal and provocative tastes. Meanwhile, Taz is on a date with another from the planet Trygos, gets dumped while on the said date, and ends up literally falling on Reed, and thus begins the love story of 2 worlds.

It was short enough to be read in one sitting and hot enough to be exciting. It is the first of a series, and left me wondering what might be in the future for the pair.

A short story about the insta love of a New Yorker and an Alien who literally fall over one another at the top of the Empire State.
Taz , an alien has come to the US on vacation with his 'boyfirend'. However. his boyfriend had other ideas and has gone off with his lover. It seems he only bought Taz along to make his lover jealous.
At the top of the Empire State he meets Reed, the 2 hit it off and go back to Reeds when he finds out that Taz has been abandoned.
The 2 fall in love. The book contains some very hot sex, with tail sex featured.
I am glad to see that there is a book 2 in the series which I will read.

Not as good as I was hoping. I'm vacillating between enjoying the cute and being annoyed at just about everything else. Romantic timeline was more than a bit unbelievable, no real resolution with the "bad" guy or Taz's mother who is mentioned, cheesy reference to a sci-fi book with Taz's alien race, awkward pacing and storyline, and general overall blah. Sure here were a couple good sexy times, but it can't make up for a hundred pages of not awesome.

I would first like to say, the only reason I even bought this book was the book cover. I love sexy book covers. This was a cute read. The characters seemed immature in their dialogue.  I like the animal reference (don't want to give anything away). It was much sexier than a Martian-type alien. Hot, alien sex.
