4.5 stars from me.
Totally different from Obsession but an amazing story none the less.
I now cannot wait for book 3...I need more Master Blue!!

Review to come on release.

Redemption – Ivory Quinn
4.5 stars!!!

Master Blue “You’re changing, Noelle. Gabriel started your metamorphosis, but I’m going to make you a butterfly. Your old life is over. Here and now is where a new life begins”

I must admit I was pretty scared going into reading this, Obsession totally rocked my reading world when I read it and I thought, how on earth is Ivory going to beat it or even match it. I needn’t have worried, even though this book is totally different from Obsession it is an amazing story that has given us a brilliant foundation going into book 3. I really hope book 3 is what I think it is going to be about..I have some wild thoughts running through my head at the moment!!

Redemption tells the story about how Noelle recovers from what happens in Obsession, at the end of Obsession she was broken and at the beginning of Redemption she still is, Jax bless his cotton socks tries all he can to bring Noelle back, but alas it is all in vain..she is just too far gone. He finally manages to get her to open up about her recurrent nightmares and once she explains he thinks that he may know just the person to help put her back together again.

Noelle feels that she is broken and sick, the nightmares that she has are not “right” in her mind and she feels that Gabriel has permanently changed her for the worse, she is upset that she is so reliant on Jax, even though he doesn’t mind at all, she is always mindful of over staying her welcome. She hasn’t been home or to Gabriel’s since it happened and Jax has really become her crutch and it soon dawns on her that she needs to learn to live without it. She needs to find herself again and quickly before it is lost forever.

Jax takes her to see Cal Henway, he is a doctor in his own right but also owns a string of BDSM related businesses. Cal is brilliant, I adored his style, he nurtured the truth out of Noelle, she opened up without realising and he would plant the seed, let her go away and mull it over and then smile when she came back the next day repeating verbatim what he wanted her to realise the previous day..his technique was brilliant. He made her see so much, that she wasn’t broken, she wasn’t weird and she definitely wasn’t evil. Gabriel had unleashed a hidden part of her, something that was supressed and was just itching to come out and now that it was unleashed it was up to her what she did with it. Cal introduces her to Master Blue to “train her” and help her with her therapy…she goes in as Noelle and comes out as “Mistress Red”.

Master Blue….I cannot say how much I loved this man, he is totally adorable, selfless, talk, dark and handsome and totally and utterly loveable. He nurtured Noelle, he gave her back her confidence, her trust and to some extent love. In my minds eye, these two should be together. The final scene they did together was heart wrenchingly beautiful and highly emotional. It made me cry buckets, these two deserve to be together but Ivory is not finished with tormenting us yet.

“One day you’ll meet a guy that you want to give these things to, rather than having them taken. That makes all the difference in the world. The lucky b**tard will be the true first, in every way that counts.”

There are a lot of twists and turns in this book and we are reintroduced to a lot of old favourites. There is always our “Jax”, he is as always totally adorable in this book, he does have a few moments where I could have whacked him one but on the whole he is still our upstanding, hot chocolate and marshmallow giving rocker with a heart. Raze came into his own in this book, that man is totally adorable!! I loved his relationship with Noelle and I can see them becoming firm friends forever, he was totally amazeballs in this book. Sean the barista from the coffee shop, yep him, he turns up again in this one in a variety of places, I am still undecided about him…there are many fish in this pond but I do not want him to be one of them. He may be grounded and “normal” but personally I feel that Noelle needs more.

This is a well written story, about self discovery, emotional in parts but opens the path for an intriguing book 3. Personally, I actually see Noelle as a “switch”, I wonder if it will go down this route, I certainly hope so!! Mistress Red the Dominatrix and Noelle, Master Blue’s sub….perfect!!

“No. It’s definitely life. I choose life, in all it’s technicolour, splendid, f**ked up glory. Living is a verb. Life is a concept. It’s vibrant and cruel and beautiful and mine and I want it so much it hurts. I choose hope, I choose light. I choose love. I choose life.”

Loved this book, and now I really cannot wait for book 3!!

If Obsession tore me down, Redemption built me back up. I did not realize how much I was still feeling the pain of the first book until I started this one. I had to struggle along side Noelle through this entire book. I went through my own pain of seeing the wrong in Gabriel's actions. Hating him, loving him and forgiving him. Noelle's grief was not just her own. It was ours.

Six months have passed and she is still plagued with nightmares. Noelle can't grasp the darkness in her nightmares. Her desire to dominate and hurt Gabriel like he hurt her, punished her. But it's been months and nothing is getting better. Jax is still her rock, he holds her every night but he is not enough to put her back together again. He doesn't understand that this darkness is part of her - it is not just part of her rage and anger over what was done. She has a beast within her that she must learn to embrace. She must let go of everything and build herself back up as the person she wants to be.

Submitting to Gabriel, losing him... gave her the knowledge that she did not desire to be at someone else's mercy. She craved the desire to dominate someone else. She wanted to punish them, hurt them, give them what they craved and care for them.

When nothing else seemed to work to bring her back, she finds herself at the Manor, Master Henway is going to teach her to cope with her pain and Master Blue is going to teach her to own it. She begins a vigorous regimen of therapy and watching Master Blue at work. As he shows her how to control the beast and give the submissives what they need he also gives her so much more.

Master Blue was down right delicious and I was so torn between their friendship and sexual connection that I was not sure what I wanted to happen between the two of them. The instant trust and friendship was so beautiful to watch unfold. She was not his to dominate, but he cared for her as if she was his own, like he wanted to keep her.

Noelle's journey to find herself again brought with it the harsh realities of what this lifestyle would bring. Jax was what kept her afloat all those months - her life just teetering on the edge; but when faced with her need for this it creates a void that friendship and love may not be enough to fill. Watching her and Jax was bittersweet. He was so perfect and so wrong for her all at once. Every man seemed to have fallen a little in love with Noelle. But only one surprising choice might be what she discovers she needs. I am not sure if there will be another book in this series or if we are expected to make up our own ending to her story; but I am not sure if I am ready to fully let go of her.

I have slowly become attached to so many of the characters in this book and part of me needs to see them find their own peace. I was not sure what to expect when I picked this one up. I was fearful of reading it for a while, remembering how shattered I was after Obsession; but I was completely caught up in the spell that was cast by Ivory Quinn. This was a heartbreaking and beautiful story of letting go and finding it in yourself not only to embrace living, but to embrace life and who you truly are inside.

5 BIG FAT STARS

I really enjoyed Obsession so was pretty sure I would like this book. I was wrong, I didn't just like it I freakn LOVED IT!!

The story was different than I expected but in a good way. I loved reading about Noelles journey of self discovery and acceptance. The characters and environment were wonderfully drawn. The author either knows the lifestyle or did A LOT of research, I found a number of scenarios very enlightening.

Ivory has a unique way of writing that puts the reader right in the middle of the story, just beautiful!!

Does she have a golden poon?

The book is well written. The Author obviously knows her stuff. The Whole bdsm world is well described without being way to detailed, the sex scenes between Blue and Noelle are great, many funny moments and overall well written.
But the character, Noelle, makes me want to find a knife and stick into my eyes so I can't read another sentence.
Why not put the book on "dnf"-shelf? Because I have a slight OCD when it comes to finnishing books.

Noelle has been trough a small hell, I will give her that. Still no excuse to use people(but...oh...I didn't knoooow *innocent bambi eyes*), cry on every 3rd page(seriously, I don't think her cheek was dry, ever), run and call Blue and tell on Jax like a 14 year old, constantly go around saying "boooo Im not good enough". I just can't take characters like that, no matter what kind of shit they have been going trough. For me this was overkill, to much "innocent-girl-who-thinks-she-isnt-worth-shit".

I did not like how . I did not like the fact that _everyone_ in this book seems to think that Noelle is the godess herself and that the world spins around her. The icing on the cake was when ANOTHER one said he loved her. MY GAWD! And how could she not get that Jax

But as I said, the book itself is well written and the Author is good.I liked book number one a lot and I will probably continue Reading Things from this Author (anything that doesn't have Noelle in it) I just can't take Noelle and since the book is all about her, I can't give it more than 2.

Goodness gracious...this had me all up in knots (pun...well, not intended, but there you have it)!
Ok, first things first. This is NOT a romance. It's a story about a broken woman healing and embracing who she has become. And in that context, it's a wonderfully written story.
I have to admit, I was wary going into this book. The end of Obsessions pissed me right off. I am an admitted HEA lover, and well...that book just made me scream in anguish. I wanted there to be redemption for Gabrielle. I was not expecting the ending we got, and I was pretty damn mad about it!
That brings us to Redemption. I had preconceptions about how it was all going to play out...again, I was looking for redemption, this time of Noelle...but I was NOT expecting how it would come about.
I am not going to spoil this book, and really I can't say much about it and not spoil it. Just know that if you are looking for a good book that explores the human psyche and how it can be crushed and built back up... this is a great read. This book is all about Noelle healing and coming to terms with who and what she is. It's not pretty, it's not easy and it's not romantic. It is captivating and definitely a book that should be on your TBR list!

After being blown away reading Obsession ( Darkness Falls ) I had no idea where or if the storyline in Redemption would live up to or have me as wholeheartedly invested without the powerful presence of Gabriel.
I have to admit the beginning felt a little cold but I think that was probably because its been months since I read the first book, once I got reacquainted with Noelle it all came flooding back!
I thought Ivory's writing was beautiful, the emotions in the words on the page were gripping. Some of the sentences were breathtaking....
It was a pleasure to meet Master Blue ( I love how he got his name ) He was drop dead gorgeous, his banter was fantastic, I adore him.
Noelle went through so much in this book, it was so emotional being witness to her journey so far...

Finding your true home is a hell of a lot more complicated that you think it is. Mostly because the home you think you’ve found in your childhood is often radically different from your adult years. Also, finding home is a two way street. You not only have to claim your home, but it has to claim you in return. And until that claiming happens, it can be torture to try to find some level of comfort in your own skin. Watching the world go by with the distinct feeling of being incomplete, astray and untethered.

We pick up with Noelle Winters essentially where we left her in Obsession – she is grieving, profoundly broken and floating from one day to the next in a murky haze of panic attacks and pain. As the nightmares continue to increase in frequency and severity, Jax is left with no choice but to seek alternative methods for bringing Noelle back from the precipice.

We are introduced to Masters Cal Henley and Blue at The Manor. When Noelle is able to bring her radically shifted world into focus it’s clear that she has been irrevocably changed and must once again alter her life course to compensate. Cal and Blue set up a tag team approach of mind and body to assist her in this goal.

It’s a complicated thing to be brought a thoroughly damaged woman and try to assist her in once again not only gaining control of her life, but her identity. Cal has extraordinary powers of observation and intuition, which he is able to use to help Noelle refocus her attention from self-judgment to rebirth. Blue is able to break down her flawed concept of self and replace it with a vision much closer to those who love her as the strong, independent, smart, creative and sassy woman she is at her core.

Ivory Quinn has, again, crafted a brilliant story, perhaps even more so in Redemption than Obsession for the incredible depth and breadth covered. She takes readers into the innermost recesses of Noelle’s transformation from destruction to Mistress Red. We get front row seats as Noelle rises from the deepest pit of ashes to full blown, gorgeous phoenix and the transformation is not only glorious to watch but humbling. To watch this woman take hold of her life and make it her own once again is a privilege.

Between the intense heat, beautifully spun story, spectacular characters and masterfully measured flow and arc, Quinn has gained me as a reader for life.

Full Review, along with an interview with Master Blue, is posted on my blog at The Scarlet Siren
____________________________________________________________

Redemption picks up six months after the Obsession, and we find Noelle broken, grieving, and angry. After realizing that he’s not able to help her on his own, Jax (swoon alert!) takes Noelle to The Manor, a BDSM club of sorts, and training ground for those new to the lifestyle.

With the help of Cal and (the super-hot) Master Blue, Noelle begins to accept her feelings towards Gabriel, and explore her new lifestyle. It’s not an easy journey for her, and while some of her friends don’t necessarily understand her needs, she’s lucky enough to have them as a great support system. The Darkness Falls members, as well as her new friends at The Manor, embrace her and want to see her whole again.

Even so, I can’t imagine how hard it was for Jax to introduce her to a world that led Gabriel down such a dark path. I feel like he was willing to do this for her, help her channel her rage and grief in a way acceptable to her, because he loved her. He helps Noelle learn the RIGHT way to dominate, as opposed to Gabriel’s special brand of manipulation. (Pro Tip: Re-read Obsession after you read Redemption. Sheds a WHOLE new (unflattering) light on Gabriel!)

So where does Noelle end up? That’s for me to know and you to find out! Suffice it to say, she reaches a breaking point, but thankfully, she has people to bring her back from the brink. I think her journey continues far beyond the pages of Redemption, and although we don’t know exactly where she ends up, I trust that she is able to remain true to herself, and she will be taking very good care of her future subs.

All in all, I think Ivory did an amazing job with this follow-up novel. The BDSM scenes were well-written, and felt authentic, without being over the top. While she may have been unable to redeem Gabriel, I think Noelle found her own redemption, and I was glad to be able to take the journey with her.

5 Devastatingly Beautiful Stars are not enuff

After I read Obsession, I was completely mind fucked. I didn't know what to expect when it came to Redemption. I was so affected by the the death of Gabriel and the wake that was left from it.

I had to syke myself up to even start this....and I am so so glad that I did.

Poor tormented Noelle. I wouldn't even want to put myself in her shoes, but the way that Ivory wrote, made it hard not too. I felt her pain, I felt her torment, I felt her love and in the end.....I guess i felt her redemption.

Jax loved her so much he allowed her to enter Gabriels world of kink and circumstance, to help quash the demons that were living inside her. It broke my heart.

Under the ever watchful of of Master Blue (SWOON, Noelle slowly started evolve. It was beautiful to journey through her change, and kind of made me jealous in a way that I can't explain. He pushed her to her absolute limits, but was there when she fell. Pure Carnal animalistic love emanated from him as he watched her become stronger.

I sat in awe for a while when I finished reading this book. Just absorbing and going through everything. I think this book and its predecessor will ALWAYS stay with me.

I really hope that we see Noelle in her new life....oh and more of Master Blue...PLEASE.......

And my demons rolled beneath my skin
Existing in a soundless scream
And it's the loudest silence....
The Loudest Silence....
And it's the loudest echoing silence
That huts the most...

This is the second time Ivory Quinn as made me weep. This book is totally different to Obsession but no less emotional. Ivory's writing style is unique and so concise you actually feel as though you are there living the story. Her books emotion filled tear fests and you become so invested in the characters, you really care what happens to them.

We first meet Noelle in Obsession, a quiet schoolteacher that has lived her whole life living to please others, to gain acceptance but never quite living up to the expectations. She suffered the heart breaking loss of the death of Gabriel and book 2 takes off six months from that event. Jaxon, lead guitarist of Darkness Falls struggles to penetrate Noelle's grief until she tells him about her nightmares.

Jax takes her to the manor to meet with Master Cal. He offers counselling she desperately needs. It is here we meet Master Panty-sizzling Blue! Holy crap on a cracker, what a guy! I want a master Blue like now, his magnitism is just WOW. That guy knows some serious moves.

"I hereby rename that shade of lipstick blowjob red."

"Let me fuck you. Wild jungle sex. Crazy, hanging out the windows, hot, sweaty, fun jungle sex."

I won't say anymore expect go and read this book, it was heart-wrenching, and smoking hot!!

If I enjoyed Obsession, I also definitely enjoyed Redemption! Gah! More characters and surprising events that again will really surprise you! Gah! Jax and Master Blue are the two guys that made my day! Lol!!
Ivory Quinn also did a really great job and did justice on the next book!

I love Jax's character. He's always there for Noelle and I love how he cares for her.
Despite the demons and all, she didn't leave Noelle.
And Master Blue, well, I also love him! haha!!Everything about these characters are so hot and sexy!
Noelle, I really feel for her. It was really hard experiencing this kind of negative experience. And the interesting part of this book is if whether Noelle can overcome her demons and if she can finally moved on.

This book will really make you scream and want more. And I am happy to say that this book is a really good read and worth it!

Book 2 allows us to see a tad bit of how obsessed Gabriel was with Noelle, why he
chose her..why? cos he sent subs back to Cal and Blue in a mess..trained subs.
Noelle had no idea what she was getting into..she was innocent just as once
Gabe was at the age of 9.
Book 1 is gonna stay with me for along time..what an imprint the words made on me
not sure why, I read so many books..the hero doesn't end..was he a hero..no
he was broken and flawed as much as the next guy.
I mourn the loss..the hopes and dreams..Thank you for a wonderful series.

I was ready this time for an emotional ride what I wasn't prepared for was the range of emotions! I love the way Ivory tells a story. The characters are so believable and so lovable I start to miss them before even before I come to the end of the book. I hope Ivory continues to write books about these characters and their lives... as well as finding out how Noelle adjusts. Honestly I will read anything she writes at this point after only reading 2 of her books I am a fan of her writing and will continue to read as long as she continues to write.

Now I have a serious book hangover. It is going to be a lot longer than usual before I am ready to start another book. Book one was good, but this was EXHILARATING. Mystery, love, tenderness, bonds, friendship, professionalism, respect, revenge and of course sex. Won't spoil anything...will just say some books are written the way they were meant to be, not the way we previously thought they should be. MUST READ.

Seem to me everything came full circle in this book not as intense as the first one, but so good. I was at first a little taken back by Noelle blaming Gabriel for the way her life was, but really this is who she always was, and I think Gabriel was a tormented individual not really his fault for what happen when he was a child. Loved the new characters in this Cal, Storm and especially Master Blue. It was just such a well told story...thank you Ivory fantastic reads.

What a great book on self discovery

There are many triggers in this series for the normal person. Luckily, I am not normal in my readings. You'd probably never guess this kind of book does bring me joy. Not that I could do it myself, but I am glad to be able to read it.

Ivory does a phenomenal job of showing what someone goes through after trauma. I truly enjoyed seeing her grow into her skin.

After reading Redemption I believe that they were both obsessed with each other, Noelle just hadn’t realized it.

Jax continues to take care of Noelle, her nightmares are the same she wants to hurt Gabriel she wants to violate him in the way he did her but is confused because she enjoys it.
Jaxs’ decision to introduce her to Cal turns out to be the worst decision he has ever probably made. Cal owns a fetish club of sorts and is the most experienced Dom in the country; Noelle is terrified that she will end up like Gabriel.

Cal is very honest with her and holds nothing back, Noelle is left with a hell of a lot to think about including the fact that maybe she was chosen by Gabriel as a means to an end. Noelle struggles immensely with the grief she holds for Gabriel it’s heartbreaking to watch her go through so much pain.
Then Blue appears on the scene and my oh my what a beauty, a bronzed giant with a wicked sense of humour, as hard as he tries to make her understand the psychology of BDSM she still believes she is a monster a freak.

I really felt for Noelle struggling to cope with the fact that she is a Dom, getting blind drunk and unaware that she has tried to take her own life. I am not sure who I felt for the most Jax or Noelle.

The only way to let Gabriel go completely is to go into the playroom, she pleads with a distraught Blue to take away what Gabriel had done to her. I loved the relationship that they had built together but can’t help feeling heartbroken for Jax.

I really adore Jax and so wanted her to end up with him, I’m slightly gutted that he's left all alone in bed.

Fantastic read, but what happens to Jax I need more of him please.

I wasn't sure what to expect in this book. Before I finished the first book and seeing the title of this book, I had an idea in my head what it would be about. Ms. Quinn, however, had other ideas. I wanted to see Gabriel get his redemption, but this book is not about him. This is Noelle's journey of healing. Book one leaves her a broken shell of a woman who is haunted by nightmares of her past. Jax takes her to Master Cal to help her heal and we meet Master Blue.

"When I come back, you are going to walk away from this mirror and leave it all behind. You're changing, Noelle. Gabriel started your metamorphosis, But I'm going to make you a butterfly. Your old life is over. Here and now is where a new life begins."

This was a wonderful story. We meet new characters and even some that don't play a major role I felt a connection to. This wasn't the emotional roller coaster that was the first book (and thank goodness for that!) but I really did enjoy it.

This is a great series and I highly recommend it. Can't wait to start Blue, Book 3 in this series!

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't enjoy reading book one, because I was sitting there all the time like "Wtf are you doing Gabriel?" In the second book you learn that the story was actually meant to be abusive, but I never got a hint of it in the first one. Maybe I have not read it carefully, there was still the Prologue, but it really just clicked in place for me with Redemption.
So, good thing the last 20% of Obsession (what a fitting title in retrospective, but same with Redemption) caught me after all and I had to continue with the next book.
I really like how different the story continues and how much character growth happened here. I was often missing depth in Obsession and in Redemption I got layers and layers of Noelle which really impressed me.
Blue was a character I adored, I would have fallen in love instanstly, but the relationship between him and Noelle was a good point, well made.
At the beginning of this I felt so broken for Noelle and as she emerged the last time from the tub I felt empowered with Red. And what is there more to ask from a book?

Although this book did not have the effect on me that the first one did, it was still an amazing read. In this second book, Noelle is trying to piece her life back together aftering losing Gabriel, but she realizes that it's not going to be that easy. While she tries to adjust to her new life, she also has to come to terms with the fact that Jax finally admits his feelings for her. Noelle still feels ruined and betrayed by what Gabriel has done to her and doesn't feel that she's whole enough to be with Jax. By the end of the book, she is ready to step into her new life with a new image, but where does that leave the people she left behind?

This book was good. I fine Noelle completely annoying, especially how she whines about EVERYTHING, despite being surrounded by a myriad of hot men who seem to actually care about her. She's also a selfish, self absorbed slut, who sleeps with Blue, while leading Jax and Sean on, oh and sleeping with Jax as a final goodbye ? REALLY ??

I love Blue. Jax is annoying. I like Storm, though I didn't think I would. I'm wondering if this story is going to continue . . . .

It's just not the same without Gabriel.

3.5 stars.. a little disappointed with this one, Noelle just seemed to want to swap from one man to the next, her 'love' to Jax did not seem real at all, Sean just randomly came into it at the end? And she acted like Gabriel was the spawn of Satan, am i the only who didn't see it as 'bad' as it was?! Was annoyed by the constant 'boohoo feel sorry for me' type of thing! The reason for the 3.5* was the hot sex with Blue ;) I really liked him!

Great follow up to Obsession. Not as powerful as the first.
Noelle has demons to work thru & is along way from being fixed.
With new & old friendships along the way she will discover her life was a lie.

Looking forward to the next book. I can see a love square developing - looking forward to seeing who Red chooses - Sean, Blue or Jax...

Again loved this follow up, some dark subject matter but on the whole more lighthearted this time around especially with the very hot master Blue! Oh yes...but even with his hotness and witty banter my heart still lies with Jax
Not a traditional HEA but left in an uplifting place which just shows that it is very realistic overall.
Can't wait for the follow on stories of the other characters

So so ... Too many unanswered questions for my taste and too many "scenes" that were similar ... Not a bad book just not for me. I need more of an in depth story. Issues with Gabe and the "woman of interest" should have been taken more on with the story ....
