He’s not my type. So why is this grumpy baseball star living rent-free in my head?
Griffin Carter.
Tall, dark, and d*ckish—and not in a good way.
Ever since the surly injured pro baseball player rolled into town for a rehab vacation, he’s been an absolute downer.
Rude. Condescending. And, unfortunately, sexy as hell.
After his aunt falls and breaks her wrist, he’s stuck running Seaglass Scoops, the ice-cream parlor adjacent to my family inn. After scooping one too many cones together, Griffin’s gruff exterior begins to melt, and I catch a glimpse of the real him.
I should stick to the plan and not get involved. But after one taste of him, I’m not sure I can resist temptation. I know I’m setting myself up for heartbreak—he’s leaving as soon as he gets the all clear from the team doctor.
Besides, everyone knows baseball is his true love—but maybe I can convince him life after baseball can be just as sweet.
I am in my grumpy-sunshine small town romance era and Unstoppable by Kara Kendrick nailed it. Griffin and Poppy had great chemistry from the very first time they met but they had this enemies to lovers tension going on and slowly they gave in to their feels and passion. The brooding baseball star recovering in the cute small town and the town's very own sunshine heroine are a perfect match together.
Baseball star Griffin Carter had this instant lust for his aunt's friend aka part time helper aka ice cream taster Poppy Montgomery. And he tried to hide it under his ahole attitude to her. But his aunt gets injured and he has to help run the ice cream shop she owns and that means running into Poppy more. Poppy is attracted to him too. But the no strings attached sex is not staying so as they start falling for each other. But Griffin has to go back to Atlanta soon as his injury is healed and Poppy's life is in Seaglass Beach.
Poppy brings so much joy and warmth to my heart. She is always positive and sweet and nice. Just adorable. But she also can be sassy and a handful! I love the contrast. Griffin has been in a gloomy space after his injury and is anxious to go back to pro baseball career. Poppy's ever present optimistic cheerful attitude was a bit too much for his wounded ego and the attraction to a person he didn't like much was hard to handle. Poppy didn't understand his animosity either. But the forced proximity situation pushed them and their chemistry just exploded. It was super hot and spicy. But the hotness wasn’t the answer to their emotional dilemma. Griffin is smoking hot, deliciously broody and alpha. And like any sexy gorgeous grumpy alpha, he tries to make decisions for both of them that results in heartbreak. But he groveled properly. He realised Poppy is an essential part of his soul now. Meeting the Montgomery siblings was so much fun. I loved the sweet and spicy vibes of this small town romance.
Fun, fresh, and lovable! This book is the true embodiment of a sunshine/grumpy romance.
Poppy Montgomery is a ray of sunshine and sparkling rainbows. She’s well loved by everyone in Seaglass Beach, running the Inn that’s been in her family for generations while lending a hand at the local ice cream shop, helping the owner, Jess, create new and interesting flavors. With superb customer service skills and being a people person, she’s completely perplexed as to why Jess’ nephew, Griffin Carter can’t seem to stand the sight of her.
Griffin Carter, Major League Baseball star, is recovering is Seaglass Beach from his career sidling injury. He’s a self-proclaimed grump and a-hole, which is only exacerbated by his injury. Poppy’s bright side of life personality just rubs him in all the wrong ways.
But there is a thin line between hate and love, and when that tension on the line snaps, their chemistry is off the charts and so much fun. And the antics in the bedroom and anywhere else they find themselves is beyond hot and spicy.
But when they realize how different their realities are, with Poppy rooted to her legacy and Griffin’s career, they come up against major heartache.
I loved peeling back the layers of both characters, getting to know the true them and not just what everyone thinks they know of them. It left me wanting to find my own Seaglass Beach to experience and find such a fun group of people to call my friends.
"what is it about her that drives me bananas? I don’t know if it’s her perpetual optimism, the natural lilt in her chipper voice, or the way she twirls her hair and stares deep into my eyes, like she’s trying to see into my soul. Maybe it’s the combo of all the above. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time she’s around I get a raging hard-on. “
I really like this book! We get Poppy and Griffin story! Poppy and Griffin cannot see eye to eye. In fact, they even try to avoid each other. When Griffin’s aunt gets hurt, Poppy decides to step up and offer Griffin help with his aunt’s ice cream shop. I loved reading how well Griffin cannot stand Poppy, he’s still attracted to her and cannot stop thinking about her. I love when they finally get together. They have such great chemistry! I love the steamy scenes in this romance! Griffin is such a dirty talker! I really liked how right away Griffin can tell he wants something more with Poppy. He knew that what they had was right. I loved all the side characters and cannot wait for King and Juliet’s story!

A grumpy/sunshine, injured ball player, steamy story with whipped cream and a cherry on top.
This is my first Kara Kendrick novel and I'm definitely going to read more. Poppy is sunshine and light. Griffin is gloom and doom with an uncertain future. He's in Seaglass Beach to recover from ACL surgery. When his ice cream shop owner aunt breaks her wrist, he steps in to run her shop. Which also means putting up with Poppy constantly dropping in. She annoys the heck out of him. The feeling is mutual.
Things changed quickly between them. There's a fine line between love and hate, and they leaped over that line in style. While I might have wished for more build up as enemies, the steamy scenes made up for it. The underlying tension with the fueding families added a nice touch. A good lead in for the next book in the series.
Just when you think the characters in this small beach town can't get any better we get Griffin and Poppy. Her happiness will either make or break grumpy Griffin. Cannot wait to continue this fun sibling series.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 2 of the Seaglass Beach Series but can be read as a standalone. I haven't read book 1 yet & I didn't feel lost when reading this one. The book's blurb gives you an idea of what to expect. It's a good opposites attract dual pov romance.
While Poppy works at her family's inn, she loves spending time at the adjacent ice cream parlor talking with the owner & coming up with new ice cream flavors. Between those two things, dating isn't on her mind & she certainly isn't considering Griffin. However, she can't deny her attraction towards him - especially as they begin to spend some time together with him taking care of his aunt's ice cream parlor. What I liked about Poppy is how, once she made up her mind about something, she was determined to follow through with her decision & she wasn't going to deny herself what she wanted.
Being injured & having to spend his time at Seaglass Beach has made Griffin even more of a grump than he usually he is. In particular, Poppy's upbeat nature is on that gets on his nerves. However, that's mostly because he cannot control the attraction that he feels towards her. When she convinces him to have some fun together, he thinks it will be just that. He quickly realizes that he underestimated his feelings. While Griffin may not be likeable at all times because of his grumpy nature, he does have a soft side when it comes to his aunt , & eventually Poppy too, & I enjoyed seeing that.
Because they are opposites, their romance is that of enemies to lovers. They don't get along & do nothing to hide that. However, their attraction is always present & readers will like reading their interactions. Of course there is spice but nothing that takes away from their relationship developing. There is conflict, which is predictable, but it's nothing that will drag on too long or make readers too upset, at least I didn't feel that way. Overall, this was an easy read & I'm interested in reading the next installment of the series.
This was such a fun quick read, I finished it in less than 24 hours! It will be a great book to add to your summer TBR.
Griffin is a professional baseball player and is in rehabbing a knee injury in Seaglass Beach Florida. He is staying in the same town as his aunt, who owns the local ice cream shop. Poppy owns the local inn in town and helps out at the ice cream shop whenever she gets the chance.
Griffin and Poppy fight constantly. He is really an asshole towards her and she hates him too, but she is also incredibly attracted to him too. When Griffin's aunt gets injured and he has to temporarily take over the ice cream shop, he spends more time with Poppy and they both realize there is fine line between love and hate
Griffin. was really an asshole in the beginning of this book. The arguments Poppy and Griffin had were fun to read even though you don't really like Griffin at first. Poppy is pure sunshine, you can tell from the very beginning of the book that Poppy is really well loved by her friends and family and the town as well. Griffin thinks her sunshine is too bright for him.
The spicy scenes between these two were 🥵🥵🥵. I am sure I would also fall for Griffin after that! They had off the charts chemistry and his grumpy to her sunshine was a perfect compliment to their personalities.
I will say, I would've liked a little more of the enemies part of this book, those scenes were fun and I would've liked to see the tension between them build a little more. Overall this book had a little bit of everything (tension, angst, funny scenes, spicy scenes, fun family, villains) like a said a quick fun read!
Read this if you like: *grumpy/sunshine *enemies to lovers *forced proximity *small town *professional baseball player
Small-town, grumpy-sunshine, enemies-to-lovers romance with an athlete and you have a hit on your hands. Ms.Kendrick delivers just that with Unstoppable. This book had me laughing at the banter and the hate-to-love-you vibes.
Poppy and Griffin just can't seem to even be in the same building as one another without some sort of tension building and words being exchanged. Then to have to be in the shop and work side by side just adds even more tension. But is all this tension because they have a deep-down desire that they want one another? Poppy is all rainbows and sunshine and loves working at the Inn but even more is the time she spends with Jess in the ice cream shop. When Jess gets hurt she now has to deal with Jess's nephew, Griffin. the ever-so-sexy pro baseball player that she cannot stand. Or so she says she can't. Griffin is in Seaglass to recover from an injury but is now having to help out in the shop, which he just can't get the hang of it. Every time he is near Poppy, he seems infuriated, but is he really or is it that he wants Poppy but there is no way that is going to happen. Time together, a friend chirping in Poppy's ear and a text that should not have been sent sees the two of them set the sheets on fire. Griffin is one dirty talker and it seems that the sweet Poppy loves it. Who knew she had a dirty side to her.
I loved Poppy and Griffin together and how possibly the real them came out when they crossed that hate-to-love-you line to set the pages on fire. I definitely recommend grabbing this sweet, steamy and funny romance.
The last place you'd expect to see Major League Baseball star Griffin Carter is in an ice cream shop handing out scoops to customers... but that's exactly where he is going to be for the summer. He was supposed to be laying low and healing from a sidelining injury but after his aunt has a little accident he steps up to help her out. The last thing he expected to find in the ice cream shop is …Poppy Montgomery.
Her happy go-lucky approach to life irritates him to no end, but he can't seem to stay away from her!
The pages of Unstoppable hold one of the most entertaining enemies to lovers stories I have read in a long time, these two battle at every turn and continually keep that steam a rising. Poppy's approach to life is to tackle it with a smile and kindness, where as our hero Griffin he is the complete opposite, he's a grump through and through. So naturally Poppy's bubbly always happy personality gets on his nerves, then you add in confined spaces and daily encounters and you're just asking for trouble! I loved watching these two go from enemies to more, their journey brought smiles, swoons, and lots of heart-squeezing moments...it was all so perfect! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Fantastic read.!! I had so much fun reading this story but there is also a little bit of heartache thrown in too. This is a grumpy/sunshine book, the kind I love to divulge in,and Poppy and Griffin are the epitome of that trope. Griffin is a Baseball player but his injury has him laying low and on the sidelines,so he decides to keep out of the spotlight in Seaglass beach while he recovers. But he unexpectedly finds himself working in his Aunts ice cream shop, after an accident has her needing some help. Poppy who runs her families inn also occasionally helps out at the ice cream shop, her happy sunny personality grates on Griffin's nerves. These two characters are complete opposites Poppy is kind and well loved in town, she is a ray of light,Griffin is just dark and one big grump. They clash at every turn and I love the banter between them its brilliant, their verbal exchanges are so entertaining. The sexual tension between them is palpable and when they cross the line the steam is explosive. But how could a relationship work when they are both heading in different directions. I thoroughly enjoyed this book,Kara Kendrick had me captivated with her words. There is a little bit of angst and heartwrenching sweet and swoony moments and I loved their final HEA. This is such a delightful read and I adored reading it. Brilliant . 5 Stars.

FANTASTIC!!! Unstoppable by Kara Kendrick is part of the Seaglass Beach series and though in a series this book can be read as a standalone. This is the first book that I have read of Kara but I am telling you it will not be the last. I could not put this down!!! The slightly steamy enemies to lovers contemporary is sone of the best books I have read this year and truth be told I am actually a historical romance reader but as I said… I am a new fan of Kara. What I really loved about this book is that it was written in both Griffin and Poppy’s perspective so you really got to read what the other was thinking in any situation. I found this book to be very well written, had wonderful character, vivd descriptions, original and just a joy to read. Bravo Kara Bravo. This story has a strong local girl that doesn’t have time to date that runs an inn and helps in an ice cream shop, a injured pro baseball player that is recovering from surgery, a big grump, great banter in the beginning, an accident that involves a broken wrist, filling in for their aunt, an unexpected kiss, 3 loving brothers, a jerk that is threatening to take the inn, getting cold feet and falling in love. I am so highly recommending you read this book.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Unstoppable was a fun and easy read, the kind of book you can breeze through on a weekend when you're in the mood for a small-town romance with a bit of grump-and-sunshine energy. I really liked the setting—a charming coastal town with a family-owned inn and an ice cream shop. Totally adorable. There’s a cozy, feel-good vibe that carries through most of the book, which I appreciated. Griffin, the grumpy baseball star, had his moments where I could see the appeal, especially when his walls started to come down. But I didn’t quite fall for him the way I wanted to. His “gruffness” came off more rude than endearing at times, and even though he softens, it felt a little too sudden for me. I also wanted more depth to his journey—his shift from baseball being his everything to possibly imagining a life beyond it felt a bit rushed. The chemistry between the two leads was okay, but not amazing. I kept waiting for that spark to really ignite, and while there were some sweet and steamy moments, it just didn’t fully land for me. That said, the supporting characters were enjoyable, and I appreciated the overall lighthearted tone. This book didn’t blow me away, but if you’re looking for a quick romance with small-town charm, ice cream, and a grumpy hero learning to open up, Unstoppable might just hit the spot.
Read Unstoppable if you like -Small town beach vibes -close family -grumpy/sunshine vibes -baseball players -ice cream -and steamy chemistry
Poppy and Griffin don’t see eye to eye from the very beginning and when you throw in Griffin’s already grumpy mood from his injury and then you add on him helping out at the ice cream shop it’s just a recipe for disaster. Poppy is the embodiment of sunshine and Griffin’s attitude doesn’t deter her growing attraction to him. When Poppy throws out a crazy suggestion thinking they could address their mutual attraction and then move on like nothing ever happened oh boy were they both wrong. He’s leaving because of baseball and she has to stay so can they keep themselves from getting too attached or are they doomed from the start?
After reading Unmistakable (Parker and Liv’s story) I was really excited to get Poppy’s story and she and Griffin are perfect for each other. Their opposites mesh really well together and they definitely have chemistry. Griffin grounds Poppy and Poppy brings the sunshine into his life. I’m really interested in the side story going on with the Capelli family and I’m hoping we get more about it in Roman’s book next.
Thank you @authorkarakendrick for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
4.5 Stars for Unstoppable (Seaglass Beach #2) I’m loving meeting the residents of Seaglass Beach and Griffin Carter and Poppy Montgomery’s entertaining story is a great addition to the series. Griffin is only in Seaglass Beach because he is recovering from an injury that has put a hold on his baseball career. Unhappy about being there means he has become know as the grump around town and when his aunt who owns Seaglass Scoops an ice cream parlour breaks her wrist he is even more unhappy about running the shop. But he would never let his aunt down so he steps up but from the moment he arrives at the shop he bumps heads with Poppy the woman who is all sunshine and light…….. Poppy has no idea what she has done to upset Griffin but she won’t let anyone dampen her spirts and she carries on determined to ignore the grump but as this couple spent time together they both realise they have feelings for each other but what happens when Griffin is back playing baseball…..one click to find out. I loved this book, the characters were adorable, the chemistry was hot and the banter was witty. Looking forward to meeting more residents from Seaglass Beach.
#unstoppable is book two in the #seaglassbeachseries by @authorkarakendrick
Griffin is mad at the world. He’s in a small town full of happy people and he’s here grumping around doing rehab for his knee after surgery. Although he gets time with his aunt, nothing else is going well in his eyes. Especially when she’s hurt and he needs to help run her ice cream shop. Poppy has been helping out, and she’s the last person he wants around. Poppy gets under his skin, she’s either too energetic or making him want things he shouldn’t. He just needs to get through his rehab and go back to his normal life; alone with baseball as his only concern.
Poppy is like the energizer bunny. She’s always on the go, working at her family inn while helping create and serve ice cream flavors, plus always looking at the positives in life. Griffin makes her lose her cool. For someone who can always talk, she’s speechless around him. The energy cracks around them and she is ready to get him out of her system. What could go wrong?
This was a cute small town romance. Poppy and Griffin are polar opposites but they are drawn together. Once they start to spend more time with each other their walls go down and find they have more in common than they thought. They have a great connection full of laughs and lust. Cute story, continuing in this small town with a great little family.
This second installment in the Seaglass Beach series is Poppy and Griffin's story.
Poppy, little miss sunshine, and Griffin, big mister grumpy, couldn't be more different. When Griffin's aunt is injured and he's left to run her ice cream shop, he and Poppy are forced to spend time together because he definitely needs help to keep it running smoothly. They might not be able to stand each other, but there's definitely some chemistry sparking between them. Poppy thinks she's got just the proposition to take care of whatever's going on between them once and for all. Then they can focus on keeping the ice cream shop running without constantly sniping at each other. What could possibly go wrong?
I loved Poppy's bold idea. She's a problem solver and sometimes you've got to fight a little dirty! Griffin seems like such a jerk at first, but I love that we get his side and he's got a pretty legit reason to not be in the best mood. But sunshine has a way of bringing new light and maybe even some joy to an uncertain situation.
𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐋𝐄: Unstoppable 𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑: Kara Kendrick @authorkarakendrick
𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒: 𝐔𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 had so many tropes that I love, it was impossible for me not to adore this romance, and the author did a beautiful job. It was a true joy to read.
This is a cute, sizzlingly sexy small town romance about a hero who is angry with the world & a heroine who 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 stops.
These two are complete opposites, but that's what makes them so perfect for one another. I loved how they balanced each other out.
The chemistry, banter, laughs, lust, and undeniable connections bounced straight off the page, making this a pleasure to read. I highly recommend it.
4-star Review Unstoppable (Seaglass Beach #2) by Kara Kendrick I have read a few books by Kara Kendrick and each one has been well written and entertaining. This is grump Griffin Carter’s story, and it was a good read. Recovering from a baseball injury he suddenly finds himself running Seaglass Scoops, an ice cream parlour after his aunt breaks her wrist.
Poppy Montgomery is the light to his dark and is happy to help anyone and is popular among the residents of Seaglass Beach. Poppy cannot understand what she has done to annoy Griffin, but she is determined to ignore his behaviour.
However, we all know that there is a fine line between love and hate and the sparks fly between them. As the ice melts between them they find the attraction between them is impossible to ignore.
I loved the journey that these two travel as they struggle to figure out how they can have a future together. With secondary characters who were engaging, this book left me with a smile on my face.
This was Small Town Romance, Enemies To Lovers, Grumpy/Sunshine, Sports Romance and Close Proximity Tropes. Poppy is everything bright and wonderful. She liked to find happiness in everything and spread it. Her next door business friend Jessa, loves Poppy and her wacky Ice cream flavours that she comes up with for her. Unfortunately Jessa gets hurt and her nephew has to help with the shop. Griffin is trying to recover asap and get back to playing baseball. He has come to his aunts place while he recovers. He doesn't like Poppy because of her sunshine persona. But deep down he actually likes her. These two can't stand one another until they can't stay away from one another. Very steamy scenes and Laugh out loud moments too. But happiness isn't for Griffin. Read and find out if they can manage to have a love story they deserve or it will get burned down by Griffin's negativety. Loved Poppy's family and friends. They are just a wonderful bunch. Great read.
I take back everything i thought about Poppy when I read book 1. If you follow my reviews you know I had a huge issue with her role in how her brother and best friend came to be. But here we see that there is more to her. She is funny, compassionate, loves fiercely and will do anything for the people she loves.
Griffin has come to the small beach town to recover after his injury (baseball). He wants to help his aunt while he's there and going after Poppy seems like the worst idea. Until it isn't. Despite trying to stay away they ignite and soon can't seem to keep their hands to themselves. But Griffin needs to return and before that he needs to decide if what he feels for her is worth fighting for.
I'm sucked in now so I'm off to read book 3 right away.

Unstoppable is the 2nd of the Seaglass Beach Series but can be read as a standalone. Kara definitely delivers with this smalltown, forced proximity, Grumpy/sunshine, opposite’s attract, enemies to lovers, sports romance. This book was fun, sassy, and fresh. Griffin Carter is a broody professional baseball player, who is rehabbing an injury in the small town. When his aunt gets injured he is forced to step up to the plate and take over the ice scream shop. He wasn’t counting on having to deal with the girl who is nothing but sunshine and secretly gets under his skin. Poppy Montgomery is a ray of sunshine who has lived in Seaglass Beach her whole life. She runs her family’s inn, and is loved by all. Loved their banter, push, pull, the tension and chemistry. Slowly they were starting to fall for each other, and finding it hard to resist each other. Poppy sees Griffin like no one has. It’s like she looks into his soul. They let their walls down, and showed a side of each other that others haven’t seen. But, what happens when their world gets turned upside down? When you think you are doing what you think is best for one you love. When the fear of the unknown, self doubt get in the way. We get this amazing story. I loved reading updates on Liv and Parker and the rest of the Montgomery Clan. I cant wait read Roman and Skye’s story. Great quick read
Unstoppable is book 2 in the Seaglass Beach series. Griffin is a baseball player in town when he received an injury. Visiting his Aunt in his down time he ends up taking care of her ice cream shop when she breaks her wrist. He wasn’t planning. On the way too happy Poppy to keep popping into the shop destroying his peace.
Poppy can’t stand the rude, grumpy and sexy Griffin. While it’s clear he needs help with his customer service skills, she cant help but rub it in.
These two are oil and water together but they also bring the heat. They agree to a quickie in the office but then realize maybe they should enjoy the time they have together.
You also get the West Side Story vibes between the Montgomery’s and the Capelli’s and their on going feud. Which looks like it’s to be continued into the next book.
I received an arc for review, all opinions are my own and given freely.
Poppy works at the family owned inn next to Seaglass Scoops, an ice cream parlor. Her dream job would be as an ice cream flavorologist. (Wouldn't we all want that job ?) The parlor is run by Jess Carter, Griffin's aunt. She allows Poppy free rein.
Poppy's best friend, Liv, is engaged to Parker, Poppy's twin brother.
Griffin Carter is an injured major league baseball play who's returned to rest and recuperate after ALC surgery. Now he's helping his Aunt Jess who's recovering from a broken wrist.
According to Poppy, Griffin is a tall, dark, handsome GRUMP. According to Griffin, Poppy is a completely self-centered airhead. Definitely a match made in heaven - not! No matter what Aunt Jess thinks.
I received an ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Anyone who knows me knows I love a grumpy/sunshine romance and that is just what this book is!
Griffin Carter is a grump. He’s a Pro Baseball player who is helping out his aunt out at her ice cream shop since having an ACL injury he’s rehabbing. Poppy Montgomery is all sunshine and rainbows and the owner of her family’s Beach Front Inn. Everything Poppy does irritates Griffin to know end. Until that irritation becomes actually wanting each other. They do say there’s a thin line between love and hate!
I loved these two characters the banter and chemistry between them was great! This was a steamy easy read!
Thank you Kara Kendrick for giving me this opportunity to read and review for you! 🫶🏼
Tropes: Grumpy/Sunshine Small Beach Town Pro Baseball Player
This book is so good! I love a steamy enemies to lovers book! This one also combines grumpy/sunshine with a sports theme, how can you go wrong?
Poppy is bright as sunshine and Griffin is a grumpy athlete. They never liked each other. They actually really didn’t like each other at all! When Griffin’s aunt has a bad fall and breaks her wrist she can’t run her business. Griffin steps up and takes over. The only trouble is, he is grumpy and her business is a ice cream shop with lots of little kids. When Poppy stops by to check on the store she finds Griffin with a line of kids, a shelf of merchandise knocked over and ice cream on the floor. She steps in and smoothly helps out.
Through a oops text message they become lovers instead of enemies. I loved this story! It was so much fun.
Unstoppable is the second book in the Seaglass Beach series. I Have read a couple novellas by Kara Kendrick but this is my first novel, so I was not sure what to expect, and also because I have not read the first book, Unmistakable. I enjoyed this opposites attract story about Poppy and Griffin. She is pure sunshine and lightness and he is more like a dark cloud looming over you, but in a good way sometimes. But when these two have to work together at Griffin's aunt's ice cream parlor they soon find that there is a thin line which can be crossed very easily. The question is whether you stay on the other side or jump back and regret it for the rest of your life.
I read the first book in the series and immediately picked up the second. How many books do I have on my tbr before this series? Who cares? I needed to find out what happened with the Montgomery family. I love this series and these characters. I love Seaglass Beach.
Also, Griffin plays baseball for Atlanta and never names a team (maybe the author can’t for legal reasons), so I’m going to assume it’s the Braves.
I did take note of the fact that each book has a different vibe. The first one was cute and flirty. This one is funny and flirty. This book had me laughing out loud at the banter. Each book is cohesive, yet each character is distinctively different. This can be tough to pull off, but this author does it with ease.
Reading Poppy and Griffin’s story was definitely fun. I loved their interactions, and the way they always seemed to rub each other the wrong way. It made me laugh several times. The chemistry between them was something you could feel flying of the pages. And although they both denied it, I was rooting for them from the start.
I must admit, to me it felt a but sudden when they did started to like each other. It was so obvious they were frustrated with each other a lot.. and before we know it they are in kind of a relationship. Although I didn’t mind it, I definitely thought it was a bit rushed. But luckily the romance was good enough to keep me hooked.
‘Unstoppable’ was a fun read I enjoyed. The setting of Seaglass Beach is really fun. And I look forward to reading more books in this series.
