This is a series about a GARY STU. A perfect high school student: smart in school subjects, great at sports, streetwise, attractive, and proficient in anything.
But unlike most of Gary Stu stories, in this story, you can see the author's intention for a non-serious humor stories of the main character. There is no character development for Sakamoto himself, but that's intentional. Excitingly, there are character development for antagonists or for Sakamoto's friends.
There is no one correct way to tell a story. For a correct way to tell a Gary Stu story, this manga series could become an example. Well, if you are allergic to Gary Stu no matter how good the storytelling, avoid this manga.

Sakamoto is one of the most opaque main characters I've encountered. The reader gets no clue what's going on in his head or even if he's a normal human being -- some of the things he does seem impossible, but it isn't clear if that's because he's supernatural in some way or it's a non-realistic literary device.

So... this is a manga about a Gary Stu taken to 11 and played for laughs. Everyone is trying to one-up Sakamoto, the sexiest, smartest, strongest, and generally most perfect guy in school. Needless to say, he's so perfect that all attempts to bring him down do not result in Sakamoto being knocked down a peg but with the "opponent" becoming yet another fanboy/fangirl.
This was funny for the first chapter or two, but then the concept just wore on me after a while. It's one thing if it's an ongoing gag in a larger work, but for it to be the main story just wouldn't work for me long term.

Sakamoto is so extra™️ and fabulous™️!
This was a great comedy. I thought it might be a school romance like a someone crushing on the hot tutor or something, but I am so glad it wasn’t (for now).
It’s weird. I’m not even going to lie, it’s REALLY weird. Most of the time you don’t even know what Sakamoto is doing until it’s all revealed at the end of the chapter. It’s fun to guess at what he’s doing.
Because of the weird/strange factor, it’s not going to be for everyone. It’s worth a good shot though.

This manga is less of an overarching narrative and more of a collection of one off stories. It's often quite absurd and I'm not 100% the humour is for me. But I am interested to see what the other volumes have in store. I have a feeling this might be a better anime than manga.

Pretty funny story about a high school student that is miraculously good at handling any situation that arises. I laughed a few times, especially when the bullying his classmates tried backfired. It’s a cute concept but I don’t know that I’d find it entertaining for more than one volume.

I’m fairly certain this is the first manga I’ve ever read all the way through. I only turned the page the wrong way once!

I saw an article on ANN about this manga, and that people apparently wanted an anime adaptation of it.
I can honestly say, I have no clue what I just read. It was confusing, odd, weird and the art was also pretty strange at times. I had times I laughed, and there were times that I enjoyed the story, but all in all, I don't think I will be reading more of this one, or watching it should it ever get an anime adaptation.
The main problem is just the weird story line, the apparent superhero that is Sakamoto. Why is Sakamoto fast? Why can he do all these things without batting an eye? Is he a superhero? Is he magical? Is it something else? This volume doesn't really say, and so it is quite awkward to see Sakamoto do all kinds of things at lightning speed. It makes it all unbelievable and I was just rolling my eyes and the obvious: OMG SAKAMOTO *swoon* stuff that all the girls and also some guys did.
Each chapter features a bad guy (or guys) and how Sakamoto deals with them. I don't mind monster of the week stories, but give us some backstory. Don't just dump superhero Sakamoto on us without explanation.
The art is also pretty horrendous. Characters looking ugly, making weird expressions and having weird proportions. I didn't like it, and at times I just skipped from a page because of this.
At times Sakamoto is draw as a real hottie, but other times he is just scary/creepy/ugly or something else or all of the above in one.
Would I recommend this one? No. Not at all.

I still don't know what to make of this manga. It is funny, but like, creepily funny. It is like Sakamoto is some kind of demon, more specifically, like a mix between Sebastian and William from Kuroshitsuji. He is extremely good looking (looks very much like William) and does all these awesome things, not to show off, but because he is interested in them. Pretty much like Sebastian. Like in this chapter where he is the gofer of a bully, and not because Sakamoto feels threatened, but because he wants to improvise in all these things, like making excellent snacks, polish shoes, making clothes, etc. It is like he doesn't have any feelings; it is always from the academic/cientific point of view. I think it is the same as with his only friend.
The art is nice but it reforces my idea of making this shounen a horror manga instead of a comedy one. It is similar to GANTZ and Battle Royale. Specially when the character is crying, super macabre. I honestly wouldn't have been that surprised if one of the characters suddenly exploted in million pieces, with blood all over the place. It has that kind of art, the gore one.
So, to summarize: creepy, with a horror/gore like art. But I can't deny it made me laugh a couple of times.

You ever wanted to read a series about a man so perfect bullies lose when they try to torment him? Then this is for you!
Idk it’s fairly simplistic and short. A little funny and clearly knows to not take itself seriously which is nice. There is nothing special about it, but it’s not bad either. Great story to turn your brain off to.

This is another manga where I watched the entire anime first. I received this volume as a Christmas gift from a close friend and I’m very happy to have it! I can tell you that the anime so far is an almost exact adaptation of the manga. As far as volume 1 goes, there’s not much at all that is different. The jokes are the same and just as funny, the weirdness, the characters, you’ll recognize it all if you watched the anime first. You’ll probably also be spoiled by the anime like I was. The quality of the art in this first volume isn’t as good as that of the anime series. The visual direction is sometimes lacking because of that, too. It can be hard to tell what is supposed to be happening and on multiple occasions, I found myself relying on my preexisting knowledge from the anime to put two and two together. But based on my experience with other manga-to-anime comparisons, I’m gonna bet on the manga and continue reading the subsequent volumes. I often find that when the first volume of a manga is surprisingly lacking because the anime was so good, it means that the mangaka was able to improve with each chapter and the manga therefore only gets better as you continue reading. And anyway, no one can help falling in love with Sakamoto-kun!

He’s amazing at everything, and rather blasé about the whole thing. He has a “sword fight” with a bee. He saves a boy from bullying, all while leading him to his own conclusion. He gets help when there’s a fire, with no worries about the bullies he’s with, tricking them into helping. He tricks another bully into figuring out how to do things himself. When a bunch of girls start fighting over him, he pretends he’s possessed to get them to work together.
He’s the mastermind behind all of it, and yet he makes it look like he’s just along for the ride.
I enjoyed parts of this, and the artwork is very busy with lines and movement and intense faces. But it was also a little average to me, and the humor didn’t have me all that caught up. It was okay.

With no introduction, and a style more commonly used for "serious" stories, it is not immediately obvious that Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto is a comedy. Once you recognize its straightfaced humour though, the oddness can be accepted. Sakamoto has near godlike abilities, beauty, and generosity, he is perfect in about every single way. Some rely on him, others try to take him down, but in all instances, he deftly solves problems, and outwits his would-be opponents. So far, the episodic content has good variety, featuring situations with punks, bullies, and a harpy determined to make Sakamoto fall for her. The humour namely relies on the juxtaposition between the detailed art, and the odd and sometimes over-the-top scenarios. Wordplay is also common, and the translators are to be commended for making it accessible to English speakers. Overall this series promises to be odd, smartly funny, and memorable, and now that we've heard about Sakamoto, all that remains to be seen, is where he will go from here.

Sakamoto is the new kid in school. And he's Mary Poppins and Batman combined -- practically perfect in every way with skills that border on supernatural but are most likely things he has trained himself to do. All the girls adore him; all the guys hate him. They band together to destroy him but, of course, Sakamoto outwits them at every turn. He even manages to recruit a sidekick - Kubotakun. He's a "fat boy" that the bullies have been tormenting - Sakamoto teaches him how to take care of himself by figuring out how to take pride in what he does.
I don't read a lot of manga but I liked this one - it's rated Teen and I think that's a fair rating. Mostly for the odd bit of language here and there; and the topic of being the awesome new kid in school which would appeal to 7th grade and up?
