Because of several factors it has become very difficult for me to sit down and read for enjoyment. A stressful life, a plethora of distractions and an attention span that gets shorter with each birthday have all conspired to keep me from a good book. If a story doesn't capture my imagination and grab my attention I simply cannot finish it.

I enjoyed reading Scott Taylor's The Cursed Legion (The first book in this series) immensely so expected a lot from this sequel and once again Mr. Taylor has delivered the proverbial goods.

The Country of Aflyr came alive for me as I turned the pages. I found myself becoming more invested in the characters as the story progressed and by its culmination at The Battle of Brass Fields I was a nervous wreck. Tonight I will dream of chain demons and they will surely be terrifying.

I can't wait to read the next installment.

The insanely good cover art was done by Mr. Jeff Easley. In addition to Mr. Easley's illustrations we are also treated to fantastic artwork by Keith Parkinson, Timothy Truman, Jim Holloway and the always amazing Mr. Larry Elmore.
